"ROCK MOVES"
with Julie Reynolds
TUES & THURS 2PM
This Week:
Known for their successful collaboration with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in July 2005 with "Zeppelin Flies Again," marked a remarkable achievement in their career. The synergy between the Zep Boys and the orchestra resulted in an astonishing success.
Subsequently, the band extended their collaborative efforts with orchestras, gracing renowned venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Hammersmith Odeon in London, and various locations across the UK and Europe.
For the past 15 years, the Zep Boys have prioritized working with orchestras, creating memorable performances.
Now, however, the band is eager to return to their roots and revisit the pubs where they initially flourished. Vince Contarino expresses the band's sentiment, stating, "We've toured with orchestras playing to sold-out houses globally, but it's the 'true believers' who are responsible for our success in band mode, over hundreds of gigs and lineup changes, we are thrilled to return to The Gov, where we've experienced some of the most legendary Zep Boys shows. We are incredibly excited for this homecoming!"

Tiger Strikes Asteroid (TSA) is excited to announce the launch of a new network-wide project called Groundwork. This project is an archive of process drawings (works that are created during the process of an artist’s regular practice but would not normally be exhibited) by forty-two artists that will be part of the permanent collection at the New York Public Library (NYPL).
Each participating artist was asked to contribute two process drawings. One will become part of the archive going to the NYPL collection, while the other will be sold to assist with future TSA projects and exhibitions. This unique project will preserve elements of artists’ practices that traditionally would be overlooked or discarded while providing insight for viewers into how artists make decisions in planning and executing their work. The range of media in the works is as diverse as the artists themselves with things ranging from a storyboard for a publication to a sample scent for a work that involves custom-made perfumes. Groundwork is in keeping with TSA’s history of making the artists and art-making the center of attention instead of commercial concerns and market forces.
Groundwork I is the first edition of this annual project. Each year TSA will organize another archive by a similar number of artists. Groundwork I will be accompanied by a catalog published by TSA highlighting the entire collection. The sale of drawings will take place October 9th through the 23rd via a Paddle8 Auction and will culminate in events at each TSA location showcasing the works. In 2019, NYPL will hold a series of events celebrating the gift of Groundwork I with a focus on the importance of a project that brings attention to an artist’s process and studio practice.
