Το φαινόμενο αυτό δίνει στην πόλη μια κοσμοπολίτικη νότα, γεγονός που την κάνει όλο και πιο ελκυστική στο ευρύ κοινό. Το 2009 υπήρξε Πολιτιστική Πρωτεύουσα της Ευρώπης.

What to see/do/visit in Βίλνιους...

Αποτελεί μεγάλη ανακάλυψη για όσους το επισκέπτονται πρώτη φορά καθώς είναι μια λιγότερο γνωστή “γωνιά” της Ευρώπης. Μπορεί να θεωρείται “άγνωστη”, δεν έχει όμως πολλά να ζηλέψει από τις μεγάλες, διάσημες πρωτεύουσες. Σε μια πόλη που εκπέμπει ρομαντισμό, θα συναντήσεις από γοτθικά και μπαρόκ κτίσματα μέχρι και φουτουριστικά κτήρια του τελευταίου αιώνα, λίμνες, απαράμιλλο “πράσινο” και πολλά άλλα. Στο Βίλνιους οι αποστάσεις καθίστανται μικρές λόγω του πλέγματος μικρών δρόμων που διαθέτει. Το γεγονός αυτό κάνει έναν περίπατο στην πόλη περισσότερο ευχάριστο και “γεμάτο”.

Περπατώντας τα δρομάκια της Λιθουανικής πρωτεύουσας θα παρατηρήσεις πολλούς καθεδρικούς ναούς και εκκλησίες, ίσως παραπάνω απ’ όσους περίμενες. Το Βίλνιους διαθέτει πάνω από 40 μνημεία και κτήρια θρησκευτικού περιεχομένου, όντας πολυδογματικό. Κάνε μια επίσκεψη στον Ναό της Αγίας Άννας ο οποίος αποτελεί έναν από τους ομορφότερους ναούς της πόλης. Κόκκινος ναός, γοτθικής αρχιτεκτονικής, άκρως κομψός και εσωτερικά αλλά και εξωτερικά.

Επισκέψου την Παλιά Πόλη του Βίλνιους, η οποία είναι ιδανική για βόλτα με τα σοκάκια της να κρύβουν πολλές ευχάριστες εκπλήξεις. Όμορφα μαγαζιά, μποέμ καφέ, επιβλητικά κτήρια... Το συγκεκριμένο μέρος του Βίλνιους είναι ιδανικό και τις βραδινές ώρες. Αυτά καθώς και ένα μείγμα νεοκλασικού και γκοθ αλλά με ανέσεις του μοντέρνου, θα συναντήσεις στην Παλιά Πόλη.

Μουσεία: Από μουσεία, θα βρεις πολλά άλλα ιστορικά, πολιτιστικού περιεχομένου αλλά και θεματικά. Στο Vilnil. Museum of illusions θα περάσεις τον χρόνο σου άκρως διασκεδαστικά καθώς θα δεις τον κόσμο των ψευδαισθήσεων να ανοίγεται μπροστά σου. Ένα πρωτότυπο μουσείο που σίγουρα θα σε εκπλήξει. Ενδιαφέρον επίσης είναι και το Μουσείο των Παιχνιδιών το οποίο μπορεί να μοιάζει ότι αρμόζει σε παιδικό κοινό, ελκύει όμως άτομα όλων των ηλικιών.

Κάτι που σίγουρα δεν πρέπει να παραβλέψεις είναι μια επίσκεψη στο Κάστρο Τρακάι και το μουσείο του, λίγο πιο έξω από το Βίλνιους. Πραγματικά πανέμορφο, αποτελεί από τα highlight της πόλης. Χτισμένο μέσα στην φύση και δίπλα στην λίμνη θυμίζει παραμύθι. 2 ξύλινες γέφυρες “διασχίζουν” την λίμνη και οδηγούν στο κάστρο. Ένα μέρος στο οποίο εκτός από ομορφιά και ιστορία, θα βρεις μαγαζάκια, καφέ και εστιατόριο. Επίσης καλό θα ήταν να έχεις μαζί σου την φωτογραφική σου μηχανή καθώς το τοπίο χρήζει άπειρων φωτογραφιών.

Το Βίλνιους αυτή την εποχή...Φυσικά χιονισμένο!
