I noticed I didn't post any LGBTQ+ stuff or any Skyrim modded Follower content in more than a week. So why not make both right now?

Lgbtq+ headcanons with the Dovahkrew

These are Sexuality and romantic orientations not gender orientation headcanons. Sorry. These are also MY headcanons so if they don't match up with your headcanons it's not personal so please don't get mad at me. I am curious to see your headcanons as well though.

Inigo- Heteroflexible. He is most definitely interested in women and I always head canon that after the events of Skyrim he does settle down with the woman of his dreams who just happens to own a sweet roll shop. But I also feel like he would definitely point out a man's beauty. He seems like a very comfortable in his Sexuality kind of guy.

Lucien- Questioning Asexual Biromantic. He seems more interested in knowledge and learning other things than a relationship. And if someone did ask about his orientations then I feel like he wouldn't be able to answer that because he doesn't really try to experiment with romance of any kind.

Kaidan- Bisexual with maybe a fem preference (including feminine or men). I also see him as Pansexual because honestly I don't think he really cares about what gender his lover is.

Auri- Sapphic or Lesbian. I mean her creator basically made it Canon that she Prefers women.

Rumarin- Panflux 100%. Gender doesn't get in the way when it comes to any type of attraction to one another.

Vilja- I really only know her from a video of Inigo dialogue they have together. If I had to make a guess I would say she's straight or Pan, but I'm leading more into Straight.

Sofia- Bi with a big male preference.

Hoth- I really wish there were more videos and content on his commentary in Skyrim because I don't have him, but I'm interested him so much that I'd love to know more about his character. I feel like he doesn't use labels and gender isn't that much of an issue when it comes to love.

Taliesin- Pansexual. I mean come on its THE Talisman.

Gore (aka bby girl)- Questioning Omnisexual. It just feels right to me

Caryalind- I can't remember if rabbit said his sexuality was Demiromantic Asexual. I know he is Ace (or at least on the Ace spectrum) but I can't remember is they anything about being demi. I think he's Demiromantic.

Lucifer- Polysexual but I feel like he does have a male preference though I could be very very wrong. It's so funny because I play with him a lot on Skyrim but barely know anything about him. He holds grudges, he's very secretive (good on him because i would be too if i was in his situation), and he loves argonians. He seems to look up to Xelzaz and Inigo (and in some sense he does seem to be very enthusiastic when first meeting Nebarra until he realizes he doesnt like his personality) a lot which is what fueled my belief that he's maybe Achillean (Sapphic but for masculine terms instead of feminine).

Nebarra- I 100% believe that he refuses to use any labels. I think he might lean toward women a bit more, but that would only be because of how altmer are only raised to make the perfect child, so opposite sex relationships are probably the most common in the Summerset Isles. His fixation with Niranye and past relationship with Camia shows that. He doesn't seem Asexual because he doesn't hide the fact that he does enjoy the idea of doing the naughty naughty. His commentary on Dibella, Dibella Sybil quest, in the Night to Remember he says how he hopes we got to experience the Dibellan arts, and how he jokes about being Lucifer's father just prove that.

Xelzaz- Don't get mad at me, but I think he's straight. He says when hes ready he's like to marry a female argonian, and the only other time he's fallen I love was with another girl. I don't think he's asexual, but I think he definitely isn't very interested in it though we wouldn't really know because he seems very adamant on wanting to keep that part of his life private (as he should I love a king that doesn't feel like he has to tell us his sexual life).

Remiel- Asexual Panromantic. It was already proved Canon that she's Asexual. I had the conversation with her where she tells is she doesn't feel sexual feelings towards someone as she does with romantic feelings (also good on her. Not every relationship needs to have sexual desire in them). She's fallen in love with boys before and didn't seem too mad about being arranged to another man so I don't want to label her as Sapphic. And she does fall in love with you regardless of gender and I haven't seen anything that says she has a preference from the creator so I believe she's panromantic.

Secunda- I really don't know her that much yet as I'm still playing with her. First impressions is telling me panflux though I could be wrong though.

Serana- Without the SDA. She always gave me Asexual Biromantic vibes.

Teldryn Sero- Haven't started A serious Teldryn mod yet so I don't know too too much about his personal preferences, but he seems like the type who doesn't really use labels. Though I'm positive he is Bisexual.

Karina- Panromantic Demisexual. It was confirmed by the one who made her @jewelthejaguar742

Arstul- Asexual Omniromantic with a male preference. Talked with @joonjii about it and it's confirmed. However, they also said he could be panromantic with a male preference too but they said my opinion was valid and technically right.

An incident that happened in my Skyrim playthrough today.

2 hours later

(Peregrine, half frozen and covered in blood, throws open the front door)

Peregrine: I just killed the leader of the dark brotherhood.

Made a new camp in falkreath! I've just decided to keep my followers with me for most times, and I took pictures of everyone there I could find (idk why but inigo is missing. Auri is there but she was standing in a table and didn't want her concentration to be disturbed).

Hello! I'm currently OBSESSING over modded followers (specifically, followers I've overlooked; cardinal sin to overlook Auri, I know) but anyway, I find myself REALLY curious about what inspired you to make Auri? I've been really enjoying having her in all my playthroughs now that I've taken the time to get to know her <3

Hahah better late than never! Thank you so much for giving her a try! :D As for what inspired me... When I first played vanilla Skyrim, I was struck by how lifeless the NPCs were. Made an otherwise huge and living world feel hollow - so I started looking into mods. I discovered Interesting NPCs by Kris Takahashi, and ended up voicing a couple of characters in it. That inspired me to make a follower of my own. My first few attempts failed and were scrapped. I gave up for a few years and tried again, this time focusing on Bosmer lore, which I thought was woefully underrepresented in Skyrim. (It was only after I started working on Auri that I started getting into other standalone followers, which were a lot more rare back then! Inigo, Vilja and Sofia were probably the big ones. Then came Lucien and started a huge boom. :D Now we're so spoiled with followers to choose from, Skyrim certainly isn't hollow anymore.)

idk why Skyrim modders love AI voices so much all the AI-added lines sound dead inside. and every time they insist "well who's EVER gonna wanna voice act a silly little Skyrim mod" I want to hit them. with car. no one wants to voice act for Skyrim because y'all bully the fuck out of them and drive them off the Nexus. justice for Vilja in Skyrim 2024

Cracks my knuckles. Skyrim mod anon here- if you want more story or a more fleshed world in terms of characters, 3Dnpcs is an old classic I’ll swear by, as long as you like dialogue. If you like followers, Inigo (as mentioned), Lucien, Vilja, and others are a good place to start, and often you can find more interesting ones by checking what companion mods are compatible with them!

For atmosphere, frostfall and its dependencies are a MUST. You can easily edit the stats of it if it makes gameplay too difficult, but if you lean into the structure and do more walking instead of fast traveling, it adds IMMENSELY to the game and lets it all feel less like running around doing chores and more like an epic, picteresque journey. Good quality companion or world mods can add to the flesh of traveling by foot or horse through a vibrant world!

For combat, apocalypse (the magic mod) makes playing and fighting mages MUCH more varied and interesting, and immersive armors/immersive weapons adds equally to the more physical aspects of both fighting and its aesthetic presentation. A really good tip for exploring new mods is to look at what mods require mods you already use!

As for utility, I STRONGLY suggest using Nexus and its specialized launcher. It doesn’t take up much space and it makes the process of trying to mod a game that loves to crash WAY more manageable and less stressful.

Additionally, a tip- while modding, only add two to three mods at a time, start up the game, and then quit before adding more. It helps prevent the game from becoming corrupted while adapting to mods.

And one last rec if you intend to replay more… the mod alternate start! Sometimes I just like to play Skyrim as some random farmer with like, food and house mods or something. It can add a variety of different experiences away from the games linear plot if you’d prefer to stray.

Alessia’s Legionnaire Journal #1

Loredas, 23rd of Last Seed, 4E 201 It has been a wild few months, I’ve barely had time to sit down and write since I’ve arrived in Skyrim. When I arrived in Solitude, the Legate refused to accept my papers. The Imperial Bureaucrats had made an errors it seems and so I was forced to take on an entire fort on my own. Fort Hraggstad and the Bandits within were in disrepair and so I was able to easily dispatch with them in under a few hours. When I returned I was inducted into the Legion, given the oath, and given my kit.

My First orders were to delve into a nordic tomb to find some Crown important to the nords, something about some First Era Nordic King named Harald. In any case, this was the last time things were easy since I arrived here. 

After getting the crown and delivering it to General Tullius, I was sent to Whiterun to deliver a message to Jarl Balgruuf. Jarl Balgruuf is a man of some renown in the legion, he served valiantly against the Dominion during the Battle of the Red Rings and in other engagements in the empire, he also has the scars to prove it. He’s older, not ancient like the Battleborn or Grey-Mane patriarchs, but definitely in his mid to late 40′s. I presented my message to the Jarl, but he refused to take a look at it until after performing some task for his Court Wizard, Farengar.  Farengar wanted me to collect a relic called the Dragonstone, apparently it detailed the location of dragon burial sites which would aid in combating the beast... which I ended up doing. As soon as I return I was led by Irileth, the housecarl, to the western watchtower and made to fight.  I slew the beast and absorbed some kind of power and knowledge of the dragons. The Guards called me dragonborn and on my way back to the Jarl the Greybeards shouted for me apparently. Personally, I’m not too focused on it right now. The Dragons are a danger to be sure, but I duty is first to the Legion, Second to the Gods, and thirdly to my family. With the dragon matter out of the way, Jarl Balgruuf agreed to read General Tullius’s letter. He then gave me an axe which he entrusted me to present to Ulfric as some kind of nordic ritual. As I readied for the journey I met the Priestess of Kynareth, Danica Pure-Springs. She asked me to help her revive the Gildergleam. By Chance, I also met a woman named Vilja who asked me to deliver a bottle of some sort to the Eldergleam Sancturary. Our two destinations aligned so we headed out. By this point I should say that there were three of us: Lydia, Vilja, and myself. Lydia is my housecarl. In the process of serving the Jarl, he awarded me the title of thane, essentially a knighthood of sorts. Lydia is essentially part of my retinue, my personal bodyguard. She seems a capable warrior, if perhaps a bit more prone to skirmishing than I’m used to. Vilja in comparison is a bit more friendly and talkative. She and Lydia tend to gossip while we camp. When we arrived at the Eldergleam Sanctuary I collected a sapling to take back to Danica and we found someone to help open the bottle... I then was once again diverted to go deliver a letter at a mill. While at the mill I was approached by an Orcish worshipper of Trinimac who proceeded to knock me out and kidnapped me. When I awoke I was in a cell and was accosted by a Telvanni wizard named Shanath. After exploring the town, Sadrith Kregan, I did some tasks for Shanath against my will before finally being given my freedom by the town’s leaders. I was then roped into stopping Shanath and helping the wizard Ylen-Ylu. When I completed all of Ylen’s tasks he then proceeded to leave me and said “You do it, I don’t have the spirit to complete this.” At which point a hyperspace craft, “AHO” as he called it, appeared before me. I sent the information to the imperial legion and was given the go ahead to bring the empire’s justice to the Town. All of their goods were confiscated and the slavers were summarily executed. I made my way back to Dragonsreach and retrieved Lydia. I’m writing this now in the loft of the Bannered Mare, preparing our provisions for our journey ahead. God’s Willing the rest of this journey will be less eventful.

This is a Vilja in Skyrim (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6722) appreciation post because I'm obsessed with this mod right now. (Spoiler warning: I'm about to spoil most of the mod). So, I picked Vilja up because I had done Serana in a different playthrough and I wanted another female character with a romance track. To be entirely honest I struggled a bit with the beginning of this mod because I found her opening quests, where you have to fetch a ton of stuff for her, to be a bit tedious. But then, I realized that they don't have to be done all at once. You can, and should, do other quests while you are gathering things for her. It's super fun to take her on quests because she has a bunch of commentary and random dialogue that ranges from hilarious to incredibly sweet. She can talk to Inigo and they have several fun conversations that vary depending on where they are.

The things that have really gotten me attached to her, however, are her bard quest and her romance quest. One of Vilja's biggest dreams is to become a bard and to do that you can take to a friend of hers for training. Once she has spent a few days with him she can play songs, most of which are based on folk pieces and some of which are unique to the mod. These songs are absolutely beautiful and Emma, the mod creator and Vilja's voice actress, has a wonderful singing voice.

I haven't finished the romance quest yet, but so far it has been very cute. Vilja is very sweet and her romance progresses slowly which makes it feel more realistic and natural. She also makes you a unique armor set when you first start dating which is very pretty. Vilja will date the player regardless of gender, but she does mention to a female character that she is the first woman she has ever had feelings for. She also says stuff like this:

Anyway, the main point is I love this mod very much and I think that if you play Skyrim with mods you should absolutely give Vilja a try.
