Tamil Nadu batter Baba Indrajith braved a freak injury to bat with a heavily taped mouth during the Vijay Hazare Trophy semi-final match against Haryana on Wednesday. Indrajith came out to bat with the scoreboard reading 54/3 and he had a piece of tape covering his mouth. He batted for some time and the physios had to rush in to provide further treatment to him which resulted in an even heavier padding being applied on his injured upper lip. While he looked in some discomfort, the in-form batter won hearts as he went on to score 64 in 71 deliveries. After the match, he revealed on social media that he suffered the injury after slipping the bathroom during the innings break.Riding on top-order batter Himanshu Rana's fourth List-A century and a four-for from pacer Anshul Kamboj, Haryana crushed five-time champions Tamil Nadu by 63 runs to enter their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy final. Thanks to Rana's unbeaten 116 off 118 deliveries, Haryana scored an imposing 293 for seven in 50 overs and then dismissed India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik-led Tamil Nadu for 230 in 47.1 overs in a one-sided match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.Kamboj came up with career-best bowling figures of 4/30 in all domestic formats as Tamil Nadu batter were made to bite the dust.In the air....and nicely taken!A big moment in the match as Anshul Kamboj gets the crucial wicket of Baba Indrajith (64 off 71). A fine catch by Ankit KumarScorecardhttps://t.co/lg2qHYnkSI@IDFCFIRSTBank | #VijayHazareTrophy pic.twitter.com/0RfIUBjOY3— BCCI Domestic (@BCCIdomestic) December 13, 2023Haryana will meet the winners of the second semifinal between Rajasthan and Karnataka to be played here on Thursday.Rana, who has hardly made an impact this season in the tournament barring a century against a weak Mizoram side, delivered just at the right time, mixing caution with aggression as he shared a 132-run stand with opener Yuvraj Singh (65).Haryana suffered an early setback when opener Ankit Kumar was dismissed for 12, but No.3 Rana and Yuvraj started the rebuilding process. The 25-year-old Rana was the more aggressive of the two batters, smashed 11 boundaries and two sixes to notch a strike rate in the vicinity of 100.Things were going pretty smoothly for the pair but young Yuvraj's dismissal, caught by Sai Kishore off left-arm pacer T. Natarajan, saw Haryana suffer a major collapse before tailender Sumit Kumar played a cameo innings of 48 (30 balls) to give Haryana an imposing total.Tamil Nadu stuttered at the start, losing veteran opener Baba Aparajith for 7 before Anshul Kamboj started the demolition job.The 23-year-old right-arm pacer, playing only his 14th List A game dismissed Hari Nishaanth for 1, thus adding to Tamil Nadu's dismal outing.TN stalwart and Aparajith's twin brother, Baba Indrajith, halted the slide with a patient 64 but his dismissal, clean bowled by Kamboj in the 41st over all but ended Tamil Nadu's bid to enter the final and aim for a sixth title. The last time Tamil Nadu had made it to the title round was in the 2021-22 season, losing to Himachal Pradesh at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.(With PTI inputs)Topics mentioned in this article

Vijay Hazare Trophy: Chauhan, Pathania punish wayward Kerala as Services makes semis
For Services to topple a strong Kerala, it needed a disciplined performance and luck to favour it. The toss evened the scales just slightly, and hara-kiri by Kerala’s middle-order batters between overs 31st and 37th gave it the advantage as it brushed aside its opponent with relative ease in the end at the K. L. Saini Stadium in Jaipur. The seven-wicket win meant Services had made it to the…

Who played his cricket tough for Mumbai in many an Ranji Trophy title win, coached Mumbai to comprehensive wins in Vijay Hazare Trophy, maintaining an all-win record within the elite D, winning all five league matches, then the three knock-outs on the way to the title.
Ipl latest news
Mumbai cricket has gone from the low of finishing at rock bottom of the Elite E table within the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament in January to the high of winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy in New Delhi on Sunday. From losing four out of 5 matches within the T20 tournament that resulted within the coach Amit Pagnis resigning, Mumbai were helped to the title win within the 50-overs format by former India off-spinner and Mumbai stalwart Ramesh Powar. sunrisers hyderabad players
Ipl latest news
Test discard opening batsman Prithvi Shaw smashed the Vijay Hazare Trophy record by amassing 827 runs during a single tournament at 165.40 with four centuries including 227 not out, 185 not out and 165. Powar says that Shaw will fight his way back to the Indian team together with his roaring form.

The 42-year-old Powar played in two Tests and 31 ODIs, and 148 first-class matches altogether , learning 470 wickets besides scoring in more than 4,200 runs including seven centuries and 17 fifties.
A former chief coach of the Indian women’s cricket team, Powar spoke with Cricketnext exclusively from Bengaluru, where he reached directly from Delhi on Monday evening for his BCCI Level 2 coaching course. Excerpts: sunrisers hyderabad team
Prithvi Shaw was sensational during the tournament. What clicked for him that didn’t within the Adelaide Test earlier this year in Australia? cricdaddy ipl live score
After three of our main players went from Jaipur to the Indian team (Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur) for the T20I series against England, Prithvi Shaw took over as captain. He was very hands-on, he was very helpful to the kids and took up the leadership role. He knew what it meant to be there for a player because he has been through tons of bad patches. He was there batting within the nets. And if not batting within the nets, he was ensuring everyone got the eye . He did tons of throw-downs to the kids . I even have seen him do 90 minutes of throw-downs non-stop. i used to be amazed at what proportion energy he put in mentally and physically for this team. cricdaddy ipl live score
What was Shaw browsing and the way did he cause that transformation in his game?
In whatever I saw him from on the primary day of practice in Mumbai, he looked a touch scratchy. I wondered the way to address this. once we reached Jaipur, we started talking a touch on what he was trying to try to to . But he knew what he was doing, the type of corrections he wanted to try to to . i used to be only monitoring and giving him feedback. it had been more associated with game situations. His runs were due to the responsibility he had towards the team. cricdaddy todays match prediction
He wanted to form a press release after the Australia failure (0 and 4 in Adelaide before being dropped from Test 11). He accepts that whatever on and off the sector he was browsing , he was trying to rectify it. He was doing tons of drills in his room. He told me he wasn’t stepping into the ready-position at the proper time. We worked thereon and he started getting a touch ready within the batting position. That helped. He was playing on the brink of his body. He was defending well. quite his attacking shots, I liked his defence within the whole tournament. That’s why he scored heavily. cricdaddy todays match prediction
He is the type of a man once he’s on a roll, he can play do whatever he wants to. He can play two-three shots for one ball. the main difference was that he had accepted he made an error . He has worked on his fitness also. He said his dad played an enormous role in his batting technique. He said he was keeping his hands on the brink of the body during the bat downswing. He handled the new ball, the swinging and incoming deliveries, very well. cricdaddy todays match prediction
Does captaincy bring the simplest out of Shaw?
He has been leading for quite a while . He was India Under-19 World Cup-winning captain (2018). He has led India ‘A’. He has been captain right from his Mumbai school days.
sunrisers hyderabad team He knows the way to handle pressure during a sport . He was made vice-captain of this Mumbai team and was ready for leadership. When the Indian guys went, he took up the role, he wanted to win the tournament. He wanted to contribute not only by scoring runs but also in planning, strategy, chatting with the young players, keeping it together when things weren’t going well for the side. It’s more to try to to with the mind-set. He knew what was wrong together with his technique and he addressed that. On and off the sector , he took responsibility for his behaviour. The manager gave him an area on the brink of mine within the team hotel. He was very disciplined. We were very happy about him. I hope he stays like that. He has leadership qualities and that i hope he carries it moving forward. He will come . there’s tons of cricket. India plays tons of cricket. If not during this series, he will catch on within the next series. https://cricdaddy.com/tournament-cup/ipl/sunrisers-hyderabad/

Have trusted Rohit bhai's suggestions blindly, says Suryakumar Yadav | Cricket News
New Post has been published on https://jordarnews.in/have-trusted-rohit-bhais-suggestions-blindly-says-suryakumar-yadav-cricket-news/
Have trusted Rohit bhai's suggestions blindly, says Suryakumar Yadav | Cricket News
MUMBAI: It’s not often that you see a batsman respond to being struck by a bouncer the very next ball by reverse-scoping the bowler behind the stumps for a six, but then Suryakumar Yadav is batting in a different zone these days. “Abhi nahin toh kabhi nahin” (now or never), is his mantra, which means he takes on someone even with the 150-plus pace of Jofra Archer, with a fearless attitude. “It was one of the best moments for me. After getting hit, I thought my brain got replaced! Keeping jokes apart, Hardik (Pandya) was at the other end. He was like: ‘Boss, this is the time. Let’s do something different.’ I just asked him, with his experience, what would he (Archer) do with this field. What’s he going to try now? He felt that he may bowl a yorker.’ I was like: ‘let’s get prepared for that. That (reverse scoop) is actually one of the shots which I was practicing during the lockdown back home. Without thinking about anything else, I just tried and executed it worked out really well, and I was really happy about that,” said Yadav in a media interaction on Thursday. IPL 2020: SCHEDULE | POINTS TABLE When he plays shots and knocks like these, surely his anticipation of a maiden India call-up must increase manifold. “Firstly, from the team’s point of view, I really feel good that I contributed and we won. Secondly, I felt that I was batting really well in the last two-three games and even during the practice sessions. So, I backed myself. I just thought that this knock was coming, and it had to come, today or tomorrow, but not too late obviously! Since the last two-three years, I’ve been batting really well in white ball tournaments in domestic cricket and in the IPL. So, I’m really looking forward to that break coming up soon.” After his blazing 47-ball, unbeaten 79 in the last game against the Rajasthan Royals, Irfan Pathan the former India all-rounder tweeted: “It will be very disappointing if @surya_14kumar doesn’t find a place in the Indian team with this kind a form… #wattaplayer.” That thought was echoed by ex-India opener Aakash Chopra, who wrote: “Surya Kumar Yadav for Indian T20 Team #MI.”
It will be very disappointing if @surya_14kumar doesn’t find a place in the Indian team with this kind a form… #wattaplayer
— Irfan Pathan (@IrfanPathan) 1601998339000
Surya Kumar Yadav for Indian T20 Team 🙌 #MI
— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) 1601998736000
Indeed, Yadav has been batting like a dream in white-ball cricket, making his exclusion from the India limited overs squad a mystery to many. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy last year, he cracked 226 runs in eight games at an incredible average of 113.00. In Syed Mushtaq Ali T20, he slammed 392 runs in 11 [email protected], including four fifties. In the Deodhar Trophy, he blasted an unbeaten 72 off just 29 balls for India C against India A. In recent times, Yadav has admitted to being extremely anxious about the prospect of being picked every time an India team was announced, but having been left disappointed with the inexplicable snub. Even his father looks up the papers the next day to find his name in the picked team, only to be told to ‘wait for the next time’. It’s a ‘mini-tragedy’ Yadav has learnt to cope with.
“I have since the past two or three years matured and know how I want to approach the game. I have realised if I keep running behind the call-up, it will keep going far. I’m just focusing on the process and the result will automatically be taken care of. In the last two or three years, I have been batting well and I know that something good is round the corner,” he said. Perhaps he needs to be consistent. This was his first fifty in IPL-13, and his overall tally reads 180 runs in six [email protected]. “Since yesterday, I’ve just gone through my knock in the last game. I was watching what I did right in that (innings) and what went wrong in the last few games. So, yes, consistency is going to be the key. I will try to do the same things that I did in the last innings,” he analysed. Having an IPL captain in fellow Mumbaikar Rohit Sharma, who has seen bat for Mumbai in domestic cricket, has helped Yadav no end. It explains why Yadav bats at the crucial No 3 position for MI. “I have trusted Rohit bhai’s suggestions blindly. Every time I meet him or interact with him, I learn something new. He has been brilliant and every time I sit down with him, I try to grasp as much as I can from him as he has done so well in international cricket over the years. “As I am batting at the top now, he shares the same experience as to what he did. He also explains different situations and what he has gone through (in his career). He has given me certain suggestions and I have tried them since I started batting higher up the order in 2018. He is always there and it is a great feeling to have him around and help us with little things,” said Yadav. The batsman credited MI’s superb form to a pre-season camp that the team had in Mumbai. “I think the camp in Mumbai was the first thing when it came to preparing to come into the IPL. Players coming in together at that time when there was a crisis around has helped us a lot mentally. So, when we came in, we were already mentally prepared for what is expected of us. The camp was set-up in a way that the conditions were more or less the same to what we have here and that helped us prepare for the conditions. The camp also gave us an idea of what will happen when cricket resumes,” he said. At the camp, the MI players seem to have prepared themselves to play in front of empty crowds. “They (Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya) are all mentally strong and I have played domestic cricket with not just Rohit bhai, but also Jasprit when he started. They have also played without crowds in domestic cricket and had a discussion on that also as to how to go about it. During the camp also we spoke about how one needs to focus on their own plans and processes.”

BCCI unlikely to host domestic cricket this season
Unlike IPL - also an India domestic tournament, albeit running on different economic principles - the cricket board is on the verge of coming to the realisation that none of the older, premier domestic tournaments such as the Ranji & Duleep Trophy, the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy, Vijay Hazare & Deodhar Trophy as well as the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament can be conducted this year. from Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Live Match Scores & Sports News Headlines, Results & more https://ift.tt/3jTg5Fg from Blogger https://ift.tt/322YAfB
