[ been thinking,,about Them,,,so here's just a mini headcanon Thing about why my alastor specifically feels the way he does about vox

vox was one of the first people he met in hell that he actually formed any kind of friendship with and i think they kind of rose to power together, and im actually of the belief he had romantic feelings for him as well that he didn't want to act on. whether it was because he feared that would get in the way of his climb to the top of hell or he wasn't sure how to navigate a relationship in a way that would satisfy vox im unsure. but i do also think he accidentally led him on a bit and was back and forth about it—that paired with vox eventually sort of "moving up" and upgrading himself in ways he didn't like made him feel left behind and it all hit a boiling point. so now alastor is EXTREMELY BITTER because he feels betrayed by someone he actually let in and trusted. i also feel like bringing up vox is as much as a no no as bringing up his contract is—he's obsessed with vox as much as vox is with him, alastor is just a loooot more subtle about it lol

But things arent how he left them…

Vox has taken it upon himself to be in charge of all things media

Radio has turned to Video

And Alastor’s little darling aint in her place…oh that just wont do

Your relationship with the Radio Demon was like a match made in Hell.

Alastor was a wild card by himself alone, but you? You never failed to keep him on his hooves?

You had been in the media world looong before Alastor popped up in Hell, having the title (ironic) Media Demon but somehow he managed to bring back the old themes that were once appreciated.

Not those podcasts or vlogs the youth were so prone to do

But things from the good old days.

Things that were considered ancient in the sense of modern tech.

Radio; Talk shows and actual live broadcasts.

Alastor and you quickly rose in popularity in the media realm [(you had a sneaky suspicion it was because he was terrifying and people honesty clung to an overlord’s word)]

You and Alastor had separate broadcasts, but you worked perfectly in sync with one another. Until one day…the Radio Demon disappeared, leaving you to run your show alone.

You did what you could, but the people seemed to miss the charismatic broadcaster as much as you and soon you were approached by Video.

“C’mon y/n, This will be a great improvement to your brand.” Vox smirked as you sipped the tea you were offered. You frowned. You were aware that media came in all formats but you enjoyed the ‘old’ way. “I dont know Vox, i prefer to be out of the camera’s eye” you said. Vox had been begging for years for you to join his team and claiming it would ‘boost’ your reputation. You didnt need a boost. You were THE Media Demon. If anything, you knew it would boost HIS popularity.

“Radio is so old-fashion, video is the future! You should be up to date with these things” he said. You grimaced “i am well aware of the trends, but not everyone likes this new savvy way, it is good to have a little variety”

Vox was getting annoyed.

Having you on the Vees would not only boost his claim to fame, but it would boost his power.

“The people would love to see the Media Demon in the public eye. You use to sing right? How about music production? You would kill sales with that voice of yours”

He was trying to butter you up.

Everyone knew you were a renown singer. A popstar once. You only showcased it a few times broadcasting when it was late at night and were in a mood.

Alastor loved to hear you sing.

“If you made videos people, your image can skyrocket” he continued.

You set your cup down, standing, having heard enough.

“I appreciate the offer Vox, but I will decline. I quite like stereo” and with that you left.

You made your way to the Hazbin Hotel.

To Alastor’s radio tower.

You sighed as you sat and stared at the station.

Maybe i should take Vox’s offer you thought as you collected your topics and put your headphones on.

You turned on the radio and did a count set

“How ya doin tonight folks? Its your favorite radio host and tonight you are in for a treat!” you gave the daily Hell gossip and opened the line for discussions. Letting out a laugh from a few of the responses you finally sighed “I have been offered the damning chance to retire from radio” you started. “I am sure you are all aware that I am fabulous of course, but i mean reverting to video can you imagine? And the audacity of Vox to even suggest just a thing. I think i do quite alright for a media connoisseur” you giggled.

As you chatted away you were unaware of the dark presence manifesting in the tower.

“Dial in im opening the lines to hear your opinions”

You listened in

“I think it could be good to switch it up!”

“Youre the Media Demon you could crush anything!”

“Y/n youre incredible!”

“Video kills the Radio star!”

You were about to chime in when a deep static like voice sounded

“I think you mean Radio killed the Video star”

Your eyes widened and spun around to see Alastor

“A-Alastor?”

His devilish smile sharpened as he pressed a button to cut the lines and removed your headphones “its been a while darling”

You couldnt help yourself as you launched at him for a hug.

You quickly recovered and let him go, stuttering “oh oh im sorry but w-what are you doing here? I-i thought you were gone”

Alastor grinned, bringing your hand up to his lips to press a kiss to it

“Ooooh mon cher i could never stay away from you”

You blushed.

Alastor pulled you into an embrace, his grip a little tight

“So what it is i hear of you forsaking radio?”

i played owen carvour in a production of spies in sydney, and tcb i have a confession i added a line. in the man behind the curtain reveal, owen says "if it hadn't been for my spot on aim and interest in foreign policy, i might have been an actor." i had about a month between application and audition and i was sitting on the first paragraph for so long and i got a bit bored. so i added "and you know, being blackmailed by the english" to that list. it added this manic, pained spark to the moment. fuel for the fire.

i dont know what joey thinks about owens history, but i gave him a timeline. born 1926 (nov 14th. scorpio bitch.), his fine family home destroyed in the Blitz, he enlists for some income (and maybe to escape home) at 17 in 1943, too young, but he's slick and clever enough to pass as an adult. 1945, right before the end of the war, he sees something he shouldnt have. the higher ups in a below the table deal that could ruin a lot of rich and powerful peoples lives if it reaches the wrong hands. owen carvours hands were the wrong hands. but he's a remarkable soldier, he's quick, he's a master tactician, and he's Good At Lying. hes useful. so instead of taking him out. someone says "hey kid. howd you like to be a secret agent. -also if you say no you'll die-" no choice. he'll continue to live at the behest of a governments will.

he doesnt Like being a spy, but its not the worst thing in the world. he likes the more decadent aspects, certainly, and deception not only comes naturally, but brings a sort of thrill.

he doesn't like being a spy until he meets curt mega. this part of his history is a bit blurry, but i imagine them meeting sometime near 1952 (because of the song Video Killed The Radio Star), surely on the job somewhere. curt makes spying fun. and curt is the first real thing owen has had reliably since 1943. he doesnt change, hes delightfully predictable, and despite him appearing somewhat less intelligent than owen, he has this knack for seeing straight through to owens heart. curt is daring, where owen might be intially more cautious. curt has the guts to get the two of them *into* situations, where owen has the tactician skill to get them *out*.

i think owen got comfortable. tragically, the two of them were so in sync, so reliant on each other, that he didnt see the fall coming at all.

it wasnt the fall that hurt. it was watching curt walk away. he'd always thought that if this were to happen, theyd go down together.

CHIMERA found him in the rubble, a boy who'd always been controlled, who'd never really got a chance to live a life of his own, and saw a man who was easy both to manipulate, and to empower.

they weren't aggressive about their agenda because they knew what would happen. the founder/ceo (a man i have decided is named Thomas) simply let owen recover in their facilities and let him free when he was able to leave, with an explanation of their plan, and an offer of further help should he require it.

owen broke within a month. a string of killings across europe simply attributed to an individual named The Deadliest Man Alive. CHIMERA drags owen back by the scruff of his neck.

"what the hell do you think you're doing."

"what? who are they going to arrest? owen carvours fucking dead."

its very important to me that owen wasnt brainwashed by CHIMERA. every choice has to come from him because the catharsis of him fully believing in the ideology he carries out with his chest for the first time is just delicious.

he doesnt. hate curt. i dont think. he loves curt, and he hates the institution of Espionage that forced them into this. but ultimately, that institution is so driven into curt that owen cant get what he really wants, which is to break curt out of that and have him all to himself. coldest goodbye reprise is a moment of sorrowful acceptance for both of them. owen understands that curt is always going to be a spy, no matter what, and giving up on the fantasy he had.

Before I saw this look, I had been drawing Roxanne as a general shadowy figure I only knew I wanted her to be a woman. So when I saw this image I was like.. yeah.. yeah this is her

Boogie Wonderland's design was inspired by these looks. while Seal's was inspired generally by the sparkly Bell Bottom jumpsuit that was popular in the 70's disco theme. I wanted her to have a disco/flower power thing going on. Her theming is a bit of the influence of the flowers to Roxanne's design

Ruby is 100% straight up and down inspired by Ruby Rohd's from 5th element and this image of 'Fishnet stockings' fr lol. Also the Happy Birthday is such a silly inside joke between a friend and I from when we play sea of thieves and play music to calm the snakes. I just said they were all named Happy Birthday because it was my favorite thing to play.

straight up both Whitney and Super Trouper are inspired by Cher's look in Mamma Mia 2 here we go again in the final number of Super Trouper. The movie was whatever but the costume design was really a highlight for it i cannot lie. Whitney was originally a design i made in a set to sell but i fell in love with him and didnt have the hear to sell him hehe. But generally his outfit took inspo from a few of the outfits from that number but Whitney's outfit and Super Troupers look is based on Cher.

The Wolf was inspired by this collection, but most specifically this specific look.

It does NOT show in the final design (left) lol, bUT i did use Zendaya's Joan of Arc look for Sir Dukes look. I think you can see the inspo a lot more in their orginal design's draft (right)

Mac just is just generally inspired by wrestling outfits, but Radio Star themself was inspired by this look from the Video Killed the Radio Star music video

🎵 You are a radio star 🎵 This one was included as a touchstone for how the passage of time has affected Meteor. He is the radio star, and the passage of time is killing him in a way, despite his immortality.

A LOT of this song is descriptive of the struggle Meteor has with reaching out, although beyone that the imagery is what compelled me. He lights up the sky and passes you by, just an empty spark.

2. 🗣️: Does your OC speak more than one language? If they do, what languages do they speak and how did they learn them?

Meteor speaks many languages! He has had a lot of time to lean. His first and most nostalgic language is the one the dinosaurs spoke, which never had a name and he is the only living person who knows it. He only spoke it for a couple million years, until the Ancients found him after he defended his home planet successfully. They managed to errrr.. convince Meteor to go to Halcandra. They did not persuade him with words, as he didnt know the language. It was difficult, because a lot of people talked about him like he wasnt there, but he remembers the Fairy Queen who greeted him, and her face when Meteor figured out how to greet her back. Mama Meteor always said it was rude to ignore people after all. Alongside the Ancient language, Meteor had learned many, many human languages! He is the origin for a lot of words. When Meteor gave the humans fire, he had refered to it in the dinosaur's tongue, and it was cute watching them try to pronounce it! The word we have for fire in the current day is a version of it friendly for us to say. Maybe it isnt totally correct to say nobody but Meteor knows the dinosaur's language.

I did @babsvibes's bob's burgers spreadsheet and these were my results :) not much to say about my favorite writers/directors because they're all pretty evenly rated (anyone who left the show in the early seasons might have a slight disadvantage just because i didnt enjoy those seasons as much but its not personal)

the season rankings definitely make sense lol I used 3 stars as a neutral point as in "this episode is good and I will rewatch it but its not one i particularly go out of my way to rewatch" with 5 stars being "one of my favorite episodes of the show" and 1 star being "I actively dislike this episode and don't rewatch it ever" so most seasons being overall 3 stars makes sense to me. I'm not shocked that season 1 is my least favorite, or that 13, 10 and 8 are my favorite seasons (with season 13 being my highest rated season just based on the amount of episodes rated five stars)

 ken shamrock also surprised me with how articulate he was, didnt expect it from him. there was also a moment where transgender people came up and they were all stumbling around in adorable boomer fashion (except don frye) shamrock took the angle of “if a w-woman w-works her whole life f-for something and some man beats her.. i just dont think thats fair” it was kinda nuts seing these big men, who made their careers fighting other big men, reduced to shaking puppydogs, at some point ken offers a sort of excuse/explanation to Frye saying something to the effect of “a lot of people will lose their jobs if they speak out, y-you know these twitter people-” and don frye gets him off with a kurt “fuck em” and walks alway for a while, clearly hes had issues with these people before, but when Frye comes back a question along the same lines is asked to him, would he fight a transgender person (a woman) and he immediately goes “FUCK YEAH ILL KNOCK ANY BITCH OUT, PUT EIGHT BITCHES IN THE RING ILL KNOCK THEM OUT!” and his eyes are unfocused, wild, and distant, it gets real quite for a while and he just grumbles “my divorce you know..”

 this isnt a political post, this is about comedy, im not doing it justice that man has something special. what it is, is machismo perfected.

I’ve been listening to my Recently Added playlist on iTunes. Only “recently added” has been adjusted to include the last 28 months. lol But I did discover Blinding Lights by The Weeknd and that song’s been making me happy. Hurricane (Reimagined) by I Prevail has hit me in the Depress and next week The Used’s new album comes out so I’m waiting for that.

Currently its Star Trek TNG - because Data And One Day at a Time because that shit hits real. 

Are there any shows that you‘ve been planning to start watching? Why do they interest you?

It was just Star Trek and I did start watching. Interested because I wanted originally to watch ST Picard because Harry Treadaway but having never seen any ST before it didnt make sense (obvs) so I went back and started watching TNG. I didn’t want to start with the original series because honestly my attention span is garbage and I just was always curious about Data and so I started with him.

What movie(s) always comforts you?

Twister, Forrest Gump, The Lion King (1994). I’m currently wearing Lion King pjs lol. Pirate Radio is a relaxing feel good movie, too. 

Are you an arts-and-crafts person? If so, what types of art/craft do you enjoy?

I try SO HARD to be lol. So far during quarantine I’ve tried crochet, I’ve tried making string bracelets as if it was 2005 and I was in 8th grade again but I forgot how to make them and my brain refuses to re-learn its too full of music, nursing school, and data now. I tried coloring and lost patience. I have been working on a Quarantine Photo-Journal. Every day I post a tiny update and a few pictures (mostly memes since i cant leave the house and several Data photos lolololol) but my printer isn’t working right all of a sudden so I can’t print out any new pictures which I guess that one project I was really enjoying is out the window.

Do you have any planned projects to work on during self-isolation? If you’ve started any and you’re willing, share a photo of what you’re working on!

Across the Universe trilogy by Beth Revis read it and fangirl with me I am so alone.

Are there any books that you’ve read multiple times? If you could re-read a book that you loved as if it were the very first time, what book would you choose?

The Islander by Cynthia Rylant. I don’t know why but the first time I read it it just transported me into the middle of it and it was amazing (I was like 11) and it was so mysterious and everything. I’d like to read that one like the first time. Also Living Hell by Catherine Jinks did a similar thing 

What’s your favorite book genre? Why do you enjoy it?

Science Fiction. Because I like science. and Fiction and space and robots and things. 

If you were to write a fanfiction about your own life, how would it go?

My brain hurts too much to pick a top three but I will say I am currently reading May I by @ladyfogg​ and it’s been giving me the squishy feels and I am loving it and ya’ll should read it. Her OC is relatable and also inspiring and I think at this point I don’t need to mention Data anymore. (But I did).

Off Topic podcast and used to listen to RT podcast when Burnie was still on. IDK what kind of podcast that is other than ‘usually wild’

How are you finding ways to stay connected with your friends and family? From video calling to playing online games, what would you say has worked the best for you?

Nothing. I’m sitting here wallowing in deep loneliness and it’s killing me. It’s just my grandma and my cat and that’s why I can’t go out or work (I am a Patient Care Associate and I know the hospitals could use help but my grandma is 83 years old and it’s too high of a risk for her for me to be working in a hospital and coming home from there). 

If you have pets, first of all share some photos! Second, how have you been spending your time with them?

LOLA. L-O-L-A LOLA. LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LOLA She doesn’t leave me alone. Her new trick has been LAUNCHING her 7lb body on to my back while I’m standing and pretending she’s my goddamn backpack. And earlier today she decided to pull the socks out of my sock drawer. Because she loves me. 

Share your general quarantine experience so far. How are you handling it?

Bad. I often forget to take my meds, we’ve been on “spring break” from nursing school this week so I have 0 sense of time and no routine and I’ve sometimes been going to bed at 4am, sometimes 4pm, sleeping until like 9-11 regardless and I spend 95% of the day in bed. I can’t be bothered to change, sometimes can’t be bothered to really eat, and I care 0% about showering and Doing Anything. lol 

I mean it’s been great guys. Ba-da-ba-ba-ba I’m lovin’ it!

I did somehow loose 2lbs without trying tho. That’s a total of 7.8lbs lost since March. Only 125 more to go BUT THE GYM IS CLOSED AND IT HAS BEEN COLD AND RAINING.
