hey! saw that you recently watched parallels; i was wondering if you had any thoughts on it? it's my favorite show and not a lot of people have seen it, so i like hearing what other people think of it.
totally fine if not, though, don't worry! just figured i'd ask. :) hope you have a good day either way!
hi! parallels was surprisingly good (i'd never even heard of it before disney plus recommended it), and i'd love to talk about it. i was bummed out when i went looking for gifsets and such on tumblr after finishing the show and realized it has pretty much no fandom :(
i loved the whole concept and the set of four main characters, and i got really invested in all of their storylines and relationships. i had theories about how certain things would play out, but the show managed to keep me guessing. i do wish it had been longer than just 6 episodes, and there were some unanswered questions (what about poor hugo and his dad?) and things i would've liked to have seen more of/had explained more (victor and romane's powers). but overall i was pretty satisfied with how it wrapped up. i'll definitely rewatch in the future!

Literally,
Frollo: You are legit worthless, useless, ugly, and unloved
Quasimodo: yep so true king
Frollo: you know it's just me that cares about you, they would've drowned you at birth or killed you by now had it not been for me, the only person that loves you
Quasimodo: and I thank you for that, I will never disrespect or talk back or leave you for you are all I need in this world, forgive me if I step out of line
Victor Hugo???? What was up with you when you wrote this novel???
I can't believe it's dark as a disney movie, the novel is so much more tragic. Like Quasimodo is full deaf and half blind and can't talk and legit gets publicly beaten and humiliated with Esmeralda being the actual only person that cared for him. And when she's hanged and thrown over the wall, he goes to find her corpse and dies holding his only friend and when they try separating them when they find his remains, he turns into ashes
Literally it has no reason to be this dark
The hunchback of notre dame is such stockholm syndrome, it's almost as if it should be the hunchback of stockholm syndrome
