Some of my favourite stories over the years haven't been the most exciting ones, but the ones with heart and warmth. It's hard for me to believe that Sandy Lanton's "Lots of Latkes: A Hanukkah Story" (2003), illustrated by Vicki Jo Redenbaugh, is "only" almost 17 years old, as it has such a timeless, traditional feel. It's a sweet comedy of errors as Rivka Leah invites her friends over for Chanukah latkes, and they all promise to bring their own specialties to contribute to the gathering ... only to have nothing go as expected.
