5. favourite song in your native language?

this is hard! very hard! but going by artists it'd have to be something by either karel plíhal, zuzana navarová or květy. so i'm gonna cheat and say one of each. very spontaneously and not think about it too much or i will complicate things for myself. karel plíhal's nebe počká, zuzana navarová's sedávám na domovních schodech & květy's je podzim, i love these a lot. but on another day, i might have chosen differently :')

7. three words from your native language that you like the most?

i'm breaking the mold with this one again. i just dont think i could tear singular words out of their context. because what i love about czech language is how playful it is. how versatile any single word is and it's so easy to create sing-songs of them. and how evocative the sounds of words are. schránka/schrána feels like a word you could hide inside, you know? sladké has a soft ending, pulling your mouth into a position it'd take on after having had a lovely praline. you know? this sort of thing? also i may just be autistic about this.

11. favourite native writer/poet?

cheating one last time. my favourite writer is hrabal, mostly for just being a sweetheart, for writing that beautiful book all about his friend that has so much love within it, and also for this video from 1969. my favourite poet is václav hrabě, a true czech beatnik whose poetry is explosive, expressive and rhytmic, as well as tender and melancholy. idk how he pulled it off. but my fave recital of his poetry is this one and if you haven't heard it yet i'm envious, i would give anything to hear it for the first time again .)
