My lofi cover of Roar of the Jungle Dragon from Terraria Calamity Mod!
This is one of the Calamity community's most coveted tracks and I worked hard to preserve it's essence while chilling it's ~vibes.~
I've been serving this community every week for months now and it's endearing how welcomed I've been. I'll keep up the good work if they keep listening <3

even my decent earbuds died yesterday, so now instead of just having no sub and bass i have too much of it and muddy high end :( covered this tune from stardew valley anyways, since it's cool and fits my style hopefully this doesn't bother listeners as much as it bothers me, enjoy!

Earthbound/Mother 2 has been my constant companion this week while I've been feeling a bit shit 🌍
The whole thing is lovely, but the Lab music in particular is PURE COMFORT
Here I am playin' it ✨
The music throughout (by Keiichi Suzuki and Hirokazu Tanaka) is awesome, and ranges from soothing to absolutely silly and I am ALL ABOUT IT
There's a lot of emotional heft in the scene this track first appears in
Love a game that makes me laugh but punches in the gut too 💖

hey hello , what genre of music do u think the dokis would listen to? ty (love ur blog btw rlly cool)
Tumblr media
Cato! ( ^▽^)
Hm, let's see...
I picture Sayori listening to Vocaloid songs a lot! She's the kind of person who always looks to see if anyone's made a Vocaloid cover of a pop song she likes :3 other than that, probably just like, generic pop music?
Natsuki is in much the same boat as Sayori with Vocaloid, but also literally any song used in an anime! Think Konata Izumi from Lucky☆Star. (If you like to lean into the Gamer Natsuki headcanon, throw VGM on the pile too~!)
Yuri is interesting, but personally I see her listening to a lot of lofi music! She would put on the lofi radio live stream when she sits down to read or study, or when cuddling with... certain people ;3 she would probably have a sleep playlist too! She's one of those people that finds lofi music relaxing, and it helps clear her mind so she can relax and get a little break from her anxiety (speaking from personal experience on that one)
Now Monika? Ooo Monika is a toughie... I'm actually totally unsure of what I would say for Monika! Open to suggestions, I guess :o
Great question, Cato! Love your blog, too (;w;)

EEE EEE EEE (SotD 24/07/21)
so this one's a bit different than my normal taste in music. this song comes from wisp x, some of you may know them as xxsagexx. wisp is more vgm and chill lofi vibes while sage is more hyperpop. i got spotify a year ago after finally caving and she showed up on my timeline not too long after. oddly i wasn't a huge fan of wisp's work at at all at the time. i also wasn't into hyperpop either, but sage changed that and i absolutely adore their work on xxsagexx. imagine my shock when i learned they were the same person! i'm not sure why some work clicks and some doesn't, but i'd like to spotlight this particular song since i've started consuming more of their work (go check out their new album btw!)
i'm a very eepy gorl today so i don't have a really in-depth write up on this. but these are some chill vibes i can appreciate. i'd totally add this to a sleeping or high playlist (i will need to make a weed playlist now). i love the gentle ambient bed that wisp sets up with the subdued plucks overlaid with the heartfelt piano. it reminds me a lot of the original kingdom hearts on the ps2 for some reason. like i'm about to hear some ui sounds spring to life from within the ambience. (i need to play this again) we hear seagulls and crashing waves ease in as the strings swell. a sole violin comes in to rise and fall, bringing with it a story. the star of the show, whom the piano accompaniment is for. the voicing and dynamics are telling us about something. perhaps the joys, sorrows, isolation, stark beauty, of living in a seaside town? the cover art hints this may be about those feelings or maybe nostalgia. there may be no greater meaning. but wisp's character looks happy as the petals fall away. she's wading and not far from the water. flowers and the ocean appear to be a recurring theme or lore element i am not privy to. but i'll go out on a limb and say this is a song of reminisce and being lost in a beautiful moment. now, the big thing that caught my attention is the mimicry. the sweet violin's story has change at some point and is mimicking the sound seagulls make. which, FUCK I LOVE THAT. it gives a sense of call and response. integration with nature rather than our typical fetishization or boundless and crushing thirst to exert dominion over nature. wisp then closes out the song as gentle as it began. overall i love this piece. it's not a long or exciting piece, but it's a lovely reminder to take a moment from our busy and human structures to enjoy a moment of solace in the nature our hearts crave. i had something deeper to say about nature and strength and vulnerability and blah blah blah but i am too tired for anything rn. i will go do my dailies and let someone else find their own interpretation. :D

My Universe [ 8Bit Pop Chiptune ] - Tribute to Coldplay & BTS - Twin C64 SIDs and DAW (6 Channels) Made with the sounds of the Commodore 64 SID Chip (Dual SID Chips) What a struggle it was compressing this song into six sound channels.  I had to way more staccato alternating instruments than I cared to... haha Anyhow, nice song. It wouldn't be right if I didn't cover at least one Coldplay song per year. Made with ♥ Gavin Support me at: https://gavingraham.bandcamp.comMy C64 Music Driver: https://github.com/gavindi/zblex-v6
