Mayu helphelp I wanna revamp my writing blog’s theme @/bamboowrites and I wanna learn 🥺🤲🏻🪤
look at other people's blogs that you admire and mix and match the ideas from there you would find something that you might be satisfied with.
consider if the BFY and DNI are absolutely important for your blog... some people just don't bother to read those things if they are in another link. having it on the pinned post above the masterlist link can help as they end up glancing at it just dont make it too long if you do.
now the theme itself depends on what you are going for but you can go for a. pick a theme like maybe cottagecore, gothic and such and build a mood board from it on Pinterest and from those pictures choose the colours for like the accent? b. would be picking the colors first (maybe a certain shade of color, or maybe a palette you like) and then the pictures. (another idea/way could be like a "3 words" too, like my main account theme @mayulli has a star, royalty, navy theme, but not necessarily galaxy tho. My reblog account @mayullii focused more on a princess fairytale pink.)
Build a pinterest board, everything usually starts from there to be honest lolll
Now for my own... uhhhhhhhhh okay this is mainly for the people who cant pick a theme and wants them all (or at least most)
A lot of people say that sticking to one theme and staying with it is a good idea and to be honest, they are not wrong, and absolutely right it is just that I don't like staying in one theme I guess lol? Example:
Something like this! Or-
Look at all those differences hehehe. Nowhere here do you see green forest themes except for like Diasomnia (twst)? And then I also have the borders of all my writing posts:
I have like probably over 100 fic/original oneshots by now all that uses the borders above which is like alot and gonna be supppperrrr tiring to edit everything if I think about swapping everything. (will cry if I must.) but one thing is very obvious in all the pictures is that all have this pastel, soft dark, neutral tones, and has a mix of flowers, nature/outdoor and vintage themes/vibes.
I tried to make the blog as colorful as possible with the mindset that I will be changing my blog theme often. I just made the blog take all the themes that I personally like and mix and match. The forest green I currently have matched well with all the leaves in the pictures above cause of the leaves of the flowers. With an odd one here and there, but it is not necessarily painful to the eyes.
For me, with all this, I have multiple options of things I like so from like a white background which I can make it look like a canvas where the pop of colors would be from the multiple masterlists, blue where you could call it the outside/sky and the posts are the flowers essentially a garden, dusty tones, most pastel colors but more so the neutral tones like both dark and light academia would be a-okay most of the time. princesses and fairytales also~
Now what would not match with everything here would be neon colors, most bold/bright colors (my heartslabyul dorm masterlist is suffering rn cause of that red), pure black, city street and downtown, sci-fi stuff would stick out like a sore thumb for me but they are themes that I don't care for much so it is fine.
It doesn't have to flower only, to be honest if you want you can go for something jewels which has an array of colors, or maybe fabrics/clothes as like the main theme. really just make a pin board and add everything that you like and pick all the common stuff they have with each other.
Ah! one more thing that probs might help but who knows but like as you saw my twst wonderland masterlists are all different colors. So I use gray as like a divider from the main theme and the dorms. I also did the same for General/multiple characters masterlist and school staff and other characters. The gray is like a refresh for the eyes in a way (like how you sniff coffee when you smell multiple perfumes so that the scent won't mix?) so that the color of my main theme and the masterlist theme won't mix/crash in the eye much.
Genshin is genshin lol but the colours matches well with the colours of the flowers i have so it is fine. my original works masterlist is white as it was part of the white theme that i had once before, but since it is not related to any fandom it is essentially my own empty canvas (lol) so i kept it like that, naruto masterlist is obviously yellow cause... naruto lolll
#i am to be honest#not the best person to ask about themes heheh ^^'#i am bad at explaining but i still hope that this was somewhat useful#but yeah i just mainly scroll throught pintrest and pick a picture that i like#cause in pinterest when you say pick a pink aesthetic picture#scrolling down they would also show you other kinds of pictures similar aesthetic or colour to the picture that you picked#mayu mailbox#now there are those who make everything#by themselves#drawing and or editing#which are also amazing and keeps everything unique#but it really also depends on the person#hope this helps even a little

16 Unique Wedding Bouquets For Your Special Day
Every blushing bride knows that what makes a wedding stand out is in all the little details - the personal finishes that celebrate you and your partner's one-of-a-kind style. And your bouquet is no exception!
Finding the perfect bouquet that mirrors the beauty and uniqueness of the love you've found with your partner can make your wedding day truly memorable. While there's absolutely nothing wrong with a bouquet of standard roses, clutching a hand-picked, carefully crafted bouquet that's exclusively and wonderfully yours makes a great and meaningful difference!
We know it's hard to drum up new ideas, especially with the endless to-dos on your wedding checklist. So to help you get inspired, we've rounded up 16 bouquet ideas with their own spin on this timeless tradition.
These unconventional selections combine classic appeal with out-of-the-box imagination, perfect for the modern bride. Check out this lineup to find faves for your special bridal bouquet!
If you are eager to learn more about flowers from a formal course or want to get certified as an expert on florals, we recommend exploring professional bodies and colleges in gardening and floristry such as the American Institute of Floral Designers of the AIFD (www.aifd.org), the National Gardening Organization (www.garden.org), the American Floral Endowment (www.endowment.org), the American Horticultural Society (www.ahsgardening.org) and other similar organizations offering programs focusing on floristry and horticulture.
Unique Flowers
Filler flowers
While often relegated to supporting roles in flashy bouquets, filler flowers possess a delicate, almost dainty beauty that enchants you with their simplicity and understated elegance. We recommend soft and warm blooms like baby's breath, lily of the valley, Queen Anne's lace, delphiniums, and bouvardias.
Dried flowers
Brides all around the world have been embracing this trend's wonderfully rustic look. With warm hues and distinctive textures, dried flowers inspire a nostalgic mood to your stunning bouquet while also evoking a message of eternal love. Their versatility also blends flawlessly with any wedding theme. For your flower choices, wildflowers, lavenders, hydrangeas, proteas, and roses make beautiful dried flowers.
Big blooms
Make a statement with big, bold blossoms! A bouquet with oversized flowers adds an elegant and dramatic effect to your wedding look to match your fearless and confident persona. Among the most striking large blooms are peonies, water lilies, calla lilies, and gardenias.
Succulents
Boho chic is in, and so are succulents. For a more natural, textured appearance, go for these stylish eye-catchers! Whether you match them up with choice blooms or pull off an all-succulent arrangement, these stunners are a pragmatic and gorgeous choice for an one-of-a-kind bouquet.
Sunflowers
Love brings joy and lightness to the heart, so add a bright burst of cheer to your wedding look with sunflowers! If their summery look weren't enough, these blossoms also bear a heartwarming meaning: they represent adoration, fidelity, and lifelong joy. What better way to start a life filled with joyful love than with a bundle of the happiest flowers?
Themed Bouquets
Monochromatic
Sleek, chic, and fabulous-- all qualities of a monochrome bouquet that elevates your wedding to modern elegance. One color with varied flowers or in different shades adds texture to your bouquet while retaining a clean look. Go for standards like pinks and whites, which are always in fashion. If you want more of an edge or have a liking for the gothic, don't hesitate to go with an all-black bloom ensemble.
Tropical
Celebrate your destination wedding with a bouquet that matches its sunny vibe! Parrot tulips, anthuriums, oriental lilies, bird of paradise, and monstera are standard go-tos for an exotic, zesty look. For color choices, you can't go wrong with brilliant oranges, intense magentas, and popping yellows. Palm leaves or banana leaves also add warmth and volume to your arrangement.
Seasonal
Your wedding is all about new beginnings, much like the first breath of spring or chill of winter. Seasonal flowers enrich this lovely sentiment. Even better, there's also the practical advantage of having them readily available for your wedding date. Seasonal bouquets come in a wide selection of colors and florals, giving you the free rein to pick the ideal bouquet.
Signature Styles
Cascade
Finally, a flowy, enchanting bouquet to complement your fairytale wedding! Cascades pull the eyes down a trail full of flourishing blooms, fine foliage, and rich greens, creating an ethereal look and a waterfall-like illusion that will make your wedding truly a dream come true.
Horizontal
A harmonious drape of florals and foliage that joins a relaxed feel with a softly lavish look, the horizontal bouquet is luxury personified. It sweeps sideways, establishing clean and aesthetically appealing lines. Known for its versatility, it can be suited to a wild style with vines and stems or a more traditional bouquet with bountiful blossoms.
Hand-tied
Simplicity is sophistication with the hand-tied bouquet, eliciting a truly personalized touch with its free, loose, and laid-back style. All it requires is a cluster of flowers and greenery tied together using a ribbon or a silk wrap, which makes it very easy to create and set even on your own.
Hoop
This buzzworthy fad is making waves among brides nowadays! Evoking the romantic style of wreaths from days of yore, this bouquet has florals, greens, and ribbons attached to a wood or metal hoop. With a dreamy look and a laid-back aura, you'll surely fall for this gorgeous garland.
Special Touches
Berries
Fruit might not be the first thing that enters your mind when it comes to bridal bouquets, but berries create complex accents for a wild and natural look. Large, bright berries like hypericum berries, blackberries, raspberries, and snowberries make a bouquet burst with color and fullness. For more understated but stylish accents, go for tallow, berzelia, and pepper berries.
Greens
Lush greens and lovely foliage add allure to your bouquet with breathtaking color palettes, interesting textures, and even appealing aromas for a fresh, forest-inspired arrangement. Whether you go for a delicate trail or a full, overgrown look, these beauts add whimsy and playfulness to suit your delightful blooms.
Feathers
Combining classic glamor with a sense of lightness and softness, feathers inspire a vintage vibe, while creating a modern look with their delightfully unique style. These unusual accessories also come in varied types with their own unique textures and colors, making them surprisingly versatile and easily suited to different wedding themes.
Paper
Get creative with hand-crafted paper flowers! Your special creations can be just as stunning as fresh flowers, while carrying more special sentimentality. Plus, you can cherish it as a long-lasting keepsake after your wedding! Whether it's florals made from the sheet music of your special song or maps of where you first met, this bouquet is sure to be one for the books.

Different Lipstick Color for Different Lolita Dresses
Lipstick is a very important part of every woman’s makeup routine. It is an essential part of making the entire face more fresh and beautiful. Since the earliest days, the women have used the lipstick to make themselves more attractive and beautiful. Since then the beauty industry has changed so much, providing the customers and lipstick lovers with so many different options that there is everything for everyone. From different textures, ingredients, pigmentation, and colors, the lipsticks today come in the most various forms and colors.
The lipstick trends are changing very often and with every new fashion season, there is a new makeup trend. The huge number of makeup influencers are defining the trends and making the direction of the supply and demand on the market. However, there are some lipsticks with their colors and textures that are timeless and never go out of style.
With the uniqueness of costumes, dresses, accessories, and footwear, “Lolitain.com” is one of the most original brands on the market that supports the beauty and difference in the look, providing fashion that is inspired by Victorian age. According to that, the overall outfit is best accompanied by suitable lipstick. The lipstick was the most important piece of makeup that was used back in that time, and the color options were limited. The lipstick does add to the beauty of fashion garments. In those terms, we have prepared some lipstick suggestions that will go best with some of our products.
Take a look at the list below:
1. Alice Girl Lolita Chandelier Handle Lace Ruffled Open Jsk Sling Dress in Apricot
Product link: https://www.lolitain.com/alice-girl-lolita-chandelier-handle-lace-ruffled-open-jsk-sling-dress-p-7765.html
Lipstick suggestion: Givenchy N 302 Hibiscus Exclusif
Product link: https://www.givenchybeauty.com/int/en/p/le-rouge-F20100015.html
This lace dress is very soft and feminine and it will make you look like you have come out of a fairytale. It is sweet, full of lace and with discreet stitching that goes perfectly with some of the colored patterns of the skirt. The skirt is baloney, layered and the mixture of cream, white and apricot makes it just enough in terms of avoiding additional accessorizing. The best lipstick color for this dress is N 302 Hibiscus Exclusif from Givenchy. When applied on the lips, it provides gentle radiance and intense color. It suits all skin tones and gives a nice, sensual look that goes perfectly with the vibe of the dress.
2. Alice Girl Lolita Chandelier Handle Lace Ruffled Open Jsk Sling Dress in Black
Product link: https://www.lolitain.com/alice-girl-lolita-chandelier-handle-lace-ruffled-open-jsk-sling-dress-p-7765.html
Lipstick suggestion: Rouge D’Armani Matte Lipstick in 400 – Four Hundred
Product link: https://www.giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com/makeup/lips/lipstick/rouge-darmani-matte-lipstick/A2126.html#start=2&cgid=F1_MAKE_UP_LIPS_LIPSTICK
Another black version of the same dress can be seen with similar details and stitching. The color combination here is different because the base is black. The maroon and dark red motifs limit the lipstick color choice to the red hues. The perfect option is Armani’s 400 four Hundred Matte lipsticks. The coverage, pigmentation and the hue are just what this dress needs.
3. Alice Girl Lolita Chandelier Handle Lace Ruffled Open Jsk Sling Dress in Blue
Product link: https://www.lolitain.com/alice-girl-lolita-chandelier-handle-lace-ruffled-open-jsk-sling-dress-p-7765.html

Product link: https://www.katvondbeauty.com/lip/liquid-lipstick/farm-sanctuary-everlasting-liquid-lipstick/40005.html?dwvar_40005_color=4114
Nothing says mystique and vampy look as the deep blue shades of lipstick. That is why the metallic foil in midnight blue from Kat Von D is the perfect choice to spice up the blue lace Lolita dress. The metallic shine alongside the blue and black ruffles and lace will result in a look that will be hard to forget.

Lipstick suggestion: Givenchy N° 13 ROUGE INTERDIT – Valentine’s Day
Product link: https://www.givenchybeauty.com/int/en/p/rouge-interdit-F20100049.html
The wine red lace dress comes with black ruffles and some beige motifs. In order not to close and tone down the look, it is best to use a vibrant and light lipstick that will let the dress dominate and freshen up your face at the same time. Givenchy’s lipstick in Valentine’s Day is bright and red enough to create a nice color balance and contrast.
5. Afternoon Time Series Concise Pure Color Classic Lolita Hairband

Colonial-Style Summer Celebration
Guest Contributer: Becca Jones
Becca is the head photographer for B. Jones Photography. Check out her site here.
Vibrant Firs is a new wedding venue in Auburn, WA. It has a charming Colonial structure right by the lake, dock access, barn, gazebo, and 50 acres of land. Its exterior paint and front door design left a great impression on our first visit. As soon as we pull in the roundabout driveway, at the end of the brick path is the tiffany blue and white painted, column entrance. Along with the lake view, we immediately decide that we will be setting up a reception style table on the dock and some lounge pieces outdoor.
Along with its exterior paint and the romantic storybook setting vibe, we put together the color palette in the range of cream, periwinkle, French blue, Tiffany blue, and moss, agate green. Our design concept focus heavily on vintage, antique items, layers of fabrics, and accessorize with gold. Thus, we name our theme Colonial Fairytale. The advantage of choosing Vibrant Firs as a wedding venue is that it is very versatile. Couples can design their weddings more rustic, boho, or elegant and Vibrant Firs would be perfect in any of these settings. It also provides plenty of indoor space inside the barn in case the weather changes.
The gorgeous Vibrant Firs venue and the “Colonial Fairytale” theme both played an equal part in my design process for the calligraphy and paper pieces of this shoot. Soft blues, long calligraphy strokes, and an illustration of the venue’s iconic front door brought the suite pieces to life.
While putting together the reception table, we made the floral centerpieces smaller to showcase and blend into the gorgeous nature surrounding. We also fan out the flatwares a bit to make the place setting less formal and more homey. We layered two different type of lighter fabrics on top of the deep blue velvet table cloth and to make them jump out visually, the reception chairs are also clothed in Parchment Linette. At this point, we simple add more textures with taper candles and votives.
We like to incorporate floral design when composing for the overall concept since they are so intimately tied together. For this design, we used lots of feathery, soft texture. Our centerpieces are composed of field grown roses, Queen Anne lace, nigella, delphinium, yarrow cottage, eryngium, astilbe, and purple feather acacia. We also create two different style of bouquets, one more tender and aerial with cotton and another more exquisite with more blue floral pieces. The floral installation are set up indoor to feature the venue’s gorgeous fireplace and stairway. With our theme, we add Jasmine vines and Virginia creeper vines to build the installation structure.
Our favorite part of the table is definitely the spools of ribbons that double as place cards and add a really personalized, special finishing touches. The delicate Robin Egg Blue silk ribbons are from Stella Wolfe, the width is 0.5”, skinny enough to leave lots of blank space on the plates. Our stationery designer worked wonders on the ribbons and wrote beautiful names in calligraphy.
Olive is inspired by the nature and utilizes her home grown herbs such as rosemary to dazzle the gourmet hors d'oeuvres. Its lemony tang counterbalances a mild ricotta cheese on a floral olive oil polenta coins.
For the other much crunchier bites she creates a roast beef rainbow carrots tartlet to pair with ceremonial champagne toast. Blue and pale purple hues are her personal favorite. It creates a sense of elegance and turns the romantic elements more sensual. Blackberry and purple carrots were used as accent pieces to complements meat dishes.
Jan creates a two-tier wedding cake featuring a smooth color block design with a blue watercolor top-tier and a center cascade of pure, hand-piped buttercream flowers inspired by the lake setting. Every aspect of the cake focuses on the simplicity of a traditional wedding cake while also capturing the unique detail and placements present in the buttercream flowers.
For the menu design, I drew inspiration from reading by candlelight in the colonial era; the wax remnants of a romantic, soft white wax seal are suspended in time alongside delicate calligraphy paired with a classic typeface. Finally, a love note and dusty blue vow book: perfect heirloom pieces for the romantic bride.

We will cover everything from bohemian bride styling and dresses, the bohemian wedding party, bohemian accessories and elements of the bohemian wedding ceremony. We have also included a feature from NESST, a rising business catering to weddings, engagements, hen’s parties, private events and occasions, corporate events, and baby showers.
Elements of a Bohemian Wedding Ceremony
The elements of a bohemian wedding differs for each couple. One thing that usually stays consistent and defines a boho wedding is the element of earth tones, nature and natural accents that are seen throughout the ceremony. The ceremony, whether it takes place inside or outside, embodies the feeling of a whimsical fairytale. The ideal bohemian wedding does not necessarily focus or depend on religious or spiritual beliefs. The bohemian element can work for couples of any background or religion as long as they appreciate nature and art.
Location, location, location!
Location is a major key to any event, especially a wedding, and even more so for a bohemian wedding. The main essence of a bohemian wedding is the ambience of the ceremony and the celebration. Guests should feel a connection to art and nature during a bohemian wedding. The location should also celebrate the uniqueness and the individuality of the couple. The venue can be over the top, or very simple and out of the ordinary. The key is finding a place that highlights the “boho” qualities of the couple. What makes you stand out? What is important to you? What is important to your close family and friends? Your boho wedding should be special and personal for the bride and the groom. Here are 5 great location ideas for your bohemian wedding.
Beach Bliss – Connecting to nature is a key aspect of the bohemian wedding. The waves crashing, a slight breeze, a beautiful view, a gorgeous sunset, and a beautiful, angelic bride. What could be better than that? The beach wedding is the perfect getaway for your guests, and the perfect opportunity to get creative when planning your bohemian wedding. Couples can keep it classic with a sunshine-filled wedding at a local beach that means something to the family. Or, switch it up and travel to a remote island location for an exotic and exclusive experience. When you’re getting ready for your beach wedding, be sure to think of ways to make your guests comfortable. Be sure to have a beach bar with water and other light beverages easily accessible. Have a place for shoes or some complimentary flip flops for guests who don’t want to go barefoot. Use the beach as your venue for your magical bohemian wedding.
Destination/ Travel Wedding – What better way to celebrate a new beginning than with a new destination? The world is yours, your ideal wedding destination is just one airplane, car, bus, or train away. Call up family and friends to take a trip with you, and while you’re there, you can stay for the honeymoon. Whether you’re looking for a beautiful dessert or a blissful beach, a destination wedding will highlight the unconventional aspect of your bohemian wedding.
Enchanted Forest: Nature lover? Greenery lover? A beautiful forest or garden location is the perfect backdrop for any wedding photo. String the trees with beautiful decor and use the natural beauty of the land as the ultimate decoration for your bohemian venue. Use the wood on the trees to accent your wooden furniture and accessories throughout. Build an arch of flowers from a nearby bush and use it as the altar. There are so many fun ways you can enchant your forest or garden bohemian wedding.
Barnyard Beauty: Were you raised in a barn? Nope, but I was married in one! Barn weddings are becoming more and more popular, especially in the bohemian wedding scene. Achieve a rustic, wild, natural vibe in a quaint bar somewhere deep in the country. Deck the barn with over the top flowers and beautiful antique dining settings. Keep the rustic feel of the barn but enhance it with a magical touch of beauty.
Hometown Love: For couples who go for a bohemian wedding for the element of simplicity, a hometown wedding might be the perfect fit. Have your dream wedding in a backyard or at family members home. Use the element of nature and home as the thing that brings your wedding day alive. A backyard wedding in your hometown could be the most stress-free and cost-efficient option for you and your guests.
Once you’ve chosen your location, you’ll need to focus in on the small details of your bohemian wedding ceremony. The key is in the details. It’s all about how you use nature and your own personal touch to enhance the beauty of your venue and your celebration. Bohemian wedding table settings are amazing because you can add your own personal touch to match you, and your venue. Use small glass bowls to hold candles and flowers for an elegant enchanted vibe. Hang potted plants, drape vines around tents and flowers around trees for a beautiful natural feel during the ceremony. Table cloths and settings have been seen in everything from lace to gold lined. Use lace for a vintage look and feel at your wedding. Woven fabrics, like macrame and crochet, are perfect for a classic bohemian look. Flowers and greenery are a key element to the bohemian wedding. Bring nature to the table and add some sparkle. Speaking of the table, the bohemian wedding tables can be long wooden old vintage style or accented with rustic antique silverware. When dinner is served, your guests should feel the same energy of nature and art that they felt during the ceremony. The food at bohemian weddings should match the culture of the bride and groom. People opting for a bohemian wedding shouldn’t shy away from adding ethnic fusion cuisine to the menu. Savory delights that are healthy and organic will match the element of natural beauty at your bohemian wedding.
Your Bohemian Wedding Music
Music plays a huge role in the ambiance for any wedding, but the musical choices at a bohemian wedding are especially important. The bohemian feeling should be maintained with rustic tunes that celebrate love, light, and happiness. Your bohemian wedding playlist should highlight your eclectic vibes while still keeping the night exciting. Your guests should dance, laugh, and cry with an unforgettable playlist. A great idea is to pick several different tunes from several different genres and time periods. Don’t shy away from new fun songs that you have not heard of before, just like your ceremony, your song choices say a lot about your choice to have a bohemian wedding, you’re free spirited, open minded, and out of the ordinary. Here is a list of our top 10 bohemian wedding tunes.

The Bohemian Bride: Featuring Dresses & Accessories
The bride, the star of the bohemian wedding always shines brightest. The bohemian bride is chic with simple elegance. She embodies grace in her light flowing dress and her effortless styling. The bohemian bride and the bohemian wedding are both like a page pulled from a fairytale. The bohemian bride embodies an effortless beauty highlighted by every element of nature and the ceremony. The bride’s styling, like every other element of the bohemian wedding, is highly influenced by nature and the outdoors. Paulina de los Reyes in Melbourne is known for natural wedding makeup popular with bohemian brides. A natural makeup look will go perfectly with any bohemian wedding dress.
Like any other wedding, the wedding dress is the main focus of the bride. Bohemian bridal dresses should be a representation of the bride’s personality and hold a certain flare of elegance. Here are 5 bohemian wedding dress styles to consider for your bohemian wedding.
Free & Flowing – The free and flowing style is becoming more and more popular on the Bohemian wedding scene. Dresses with delicate fabrics like soft lace and gossamer mesh bring a soft and relaxed look to the bride and add to the romance of the entire night. The free and flowy fabric will promote comfort and ease while bringing in a divine connection with nature.
Two-piece dresses – Turn your wedding dress into a wedding outfit. The two-piece dress is for the bride who thinks outside of the box and does not stray away from bold choices. The same elegance captured in a traditional gown can be captured with two pieces. Some Women choose to go with a corset top and a full skirt to cinch in the waist. Others show some skin in a cropped top piece with a long elegant skirt.
Long-sleeved dresses – The long-sleeved dress brings us back to the classic vintage wedding style. Sheer sleeves with lace accents give off a beautiful illusion on the arm. The long sleeve look embodies the elegance and eclectic elements of the bohemian wedding.
Off-The-Shoulder: The off-the-shoulder look is timeless. Bohemian brides bare their chest and shoulders in a classic way with off-the-shoulder pieces. The look highlights the bride’s connection in comfort with her body. It is sexy and sophisticated. Go bare, without any jewelry on the neck, to really embody the bohemian look.
Flowers & Lace: Dresses with flower embroidery are a beautiful way to connect with nature on your wedding day. Flowers and lace can be used to accent a soft flowing dress giving off an ethereal feeling of a fantasy fairy princess. Flower embroidery is perfect for the bride who wants a traditional look but also wants to add some flair to her dress design.
The Bohemian Bouquet & Accessories
The bride’s accessories are almost as important as the dress itself. The main accessory for a bohemian bride is, of course, the bouquet. The bouquet should be unique and natural with wildflowers and eclectic trims. Bohemian brides can take the rustic route and use lush arrangements of wildflowers, or go more traditional bohemian with large over the top flowers that drape in all directions. Each flower is chosen individually and has a different meaning. The bohemian bride’s bouquet should be intentional and connect back to a special meaning for the bride and groom.
At the heart of the bohemian wedding, a bouquet is a business by the name of Nesst. Created by boho enthusiast, Ness Scharkie, Ness creates beautiful floral arrangements especially for special engagements, weddings, private events and parties, galleries, corporate events, and other special occasions. They also dabble in custom flower crowns and other floral accessories. NESST will make your bohemian wedding day even more beautiful by bringing you the perfect floral arrangement to match your personal bohemian wedding theme. Ness Scharkie describes NESST as a business with mother nature at heart. She focuses on in-season collections with individual stories. NESST values the individuality of each flower, just as they hold the same value as every bride. NESST describes the key elements of a bohemian wedding bouquet as the styling and aesthetics of the colors and flower choices, combined with what is in season and what the bride wants for her special day. Some of the NESST bohemian wedding favorites are delicate proteas and banksias with accents of eucalyptus and filler flowers. NESST specializes in textured and styles without intense structure. The bohemian NESST bouquet highlights earth tones with some dried elements and creative additions like feathers and lace.
The bride’s jewelry is the icing on the cake. Many bohemian brides run to vintage shops to find a timeless classic piece to complement their dress. Remembering that simplicity and nature are major keys to a successful bohemian wedding, this should be kept in mind for the jewelry as well. Quartz necklaces embody the effortless grace of the bride. Bohemian brides also opt for unique crystals and rustic accents for their big day. Brides with a more free-spirited mind may opt for turquoise or colored stones and gems to accent their white gown. Flowers are also a common element for bridal accessories. Floral headbands, garlands, woodland fairy crowns, all show that the wedding is inspired by nature in true bohemian style. The bride’s full look should be effortless, with loose flowing hairstyles and elegant accessories.
The Bohemian Groom & Guests
The bohemian groom and the guests at the ceremony are just as important to the ambience of the ceremony as the bride. The groom’s style, like everything else at a bohemian wedding, should reflect the personal style and grace of the groom. Slim cut and earth tone colored suits are highlights of the boho groom style. Some grooms opt out of the suit option and go for more casual looks, replacing jackets with suspenders and vests, or short sleeved button down shirts. For the groom, it’s all about bringing who he truly is to the ceremony. The same goes for bohemian wedding guests. If you’re attending a bohemian wedding, it’s the perfect chance to play with color and step outside the regular wedding season box. Bohemian wedding guests can be anything from extremely formal to very casual.
The key aspects of the bohemian wedding are highlighting nature, love, and the authentic self in all aspects of the event.

Dramatic Dark Hues Wedding Styling at Brympton House
I have something rather special for you today with these dramatic dark hues wedding styling ideas. As one of the most spectacular and unusual wedding venues in the English countryside, the magical Brympton House was the perfect setting for this edgy shoot.
This styling concept shows how to create magical, romantic wedding styling but with an industrial twist. The dramatic dark hues and grey are daringly bold and look fabulous together, and the overall look is breathtakingly beautiful. The team also very cleverly added pops of this year’s Pantone statement colour, ultra violet, in the styling.
For me, one of the stand-out aspects of these wedding styling ideas are the flowers – WOW! As a purveyor of weddings I see a lot (and I mean a lot!) of wedding flowers, so it’s always lovely to see something a little different and quirky. Emily of Stems of Somerset has really worked her magic with these blooms. There is a whole spectrum of purple hues going on, from rich deep purple, vibrant pops of purple and palest lilac, plus the contrast of orange berries and yellow leaves, all finished with beautiful green foliage.
The tablescape is something very special and unique too. Place settings of art deco gold edged glassware, gold chargers, and gold cutlery sit atop dark grey linen along with grey candles in gold candlestick holders and incredible floral arrangements. The whole look is elegant and romantic with the dramatic vibe.
There are two bridal looks, and both work so well with the styling concept and the grandeur of the venue. For the first look the bride wears ‘Locklin’ by Watters, which exemplifies bridal elegance. I love the sheer straps with the delicate beaded detail that then cascades over the bodice with an embroidered motif. The soft flowing netting of the skirt makes this bridal look so elegant and almost fairytale-esque. For this look the bride wears her hair in a loose half up style with a pretty hair vine running through.
The second bridal look has a more contemporary feel, and here the bride wears ‘Druida’ by Pronovias. This is a spectacular mermaid design with sweetheart neckline and incredible gemstone appliqués that adorn the entire dress.
Everything about this wedding styling is dramatic and elegant. I hope that you fall for these images, captured by Emma Barrow Photography, as much as I have.
Grey and Dark Tones
“Brympton House has so many areas and options for photographs, so we were spoilt for choice! With so many different areas to choose from, we decided the main styling concept behind the shoot should go away from the obvious and expected!
“Our fantastic house florist, Emily Jewsbury, carefully selected a range of unique and unusual flowers which were key to creating the look we wanted. Grey and dark tones added a nod to the industrial style trending in the general interior design world right now.
“We wanted to blend colours that may seem uninspiring and bring them to life by contrasting them with deep shades of purple, orange and yellows, along with a variety of fabric textures including linen, silk and velvet.”
Art Deco Elegance
“The beautiful engraved glassware introduced a hint of art deco and gave an elegant look to the table. The gold-plated cutlery and charger plates added a touch of glamour to the tablescape and blended well with the rest of the table dressing.
“The addition of hand dyed silk ribbon ties – in a popping purple colour to bring the guest setting to life – added a further touch of opulence to the tables.
“Some of our favourite shots were the cake display. With its own special room for the cake, the cake display at Brympton had to be something special. The table display has an almost rustic nature. We draped a beautiful grey linen cloth over the wooden table making it perfectly untidy, and added a vintage touch with old books. Jennifer finalised the look with the most stunning wedding cake, topped with a small floral urn display.
“A floral floor runner defined the beautiful Altar in Castle House. This gorgeous building dates back to the 13th century, so the concept for styling and flowers was to keep it elegant yet natural, in keeping with the natural stone and wood. We added in collections of vintage brass candlesticks for a touch of romance.” – Style by Design, Brympton Styling
A Nod to Autumn
“The thinking behind the flowers was to keep them as seasonal as possible. Lot’s of the foliage was foraged and I combined it with grasses and lichen covered branches to add lot’s of texture.
“I kept the palette quite neutral (greens, browns, rusts, nudes) as a nod to autumn, but added pops of colour with brighter violet which was then highlighted in the trailing silk and velvet ribbons from the bouquet and the silk ribbon on the place settings.
“Texture was important to me in the flowers. I used lot’s of seed heads, berries, grasses, twigs etc, alongside the soft petals of the roses and the fragile anemones.” – Emily Jewsbury of Stems of Somerset
