//I know we don't interact much, but hey- worth a shot. For what it's worth I thoroughly enjoy readin through your blog a ton!
..The fact Froslass is one of my favorite pok茅mon doesn't hurt.
OOC; Hey! Sadly we truly don't XD I would like to though! Also Froslass is PEAK pokemon design in my mind (right after beedrill) LIKE she is just a cute murderous gal! What else do you need from a pokemon XD
Well Angie is a busy lady with one of the CUTEST team I have ever seen, also their meeting stories are very according to canon, feels like the meeting stories in the anime with a dash of realism that I really like! I LOVE how broad Angie's vocabulary is and you make sure to use rarer words while also managing to keep her releatble, its impressive to say the least XD

I remeber back in the cable era I used to think getting less episodes for better production quality and tighter stories was how a better model of television should be: no lost time in meaningless episodes, no need to sit through commercials, and stories with the charcaters being more releatble, more complex, and possibilites that we wouldn't get past the censorres.
The first years of netflix it did seem like that was what would become the new model. Sure Stranger things Season 1 was only 8 episodes long but over time I had the confidence more people would flock to the service and we'd get longer seasons of shows. Sure, I wasn't expecting 20-something episode seasons but I was very confident things would settle around 15-eps.
Then the streaming wars began, all the other media companies began to pull out of netflix and try and build their own plaforms on the shakey faoundations that they would come out on top only to bleed money for years on end. After the pandemic the bills caught up, and the round of firings and budget cuts began. And all throughout we mostly stayed on 12 episodes-a-season, rarely seeing a show get more than 20.
It feels like a monkey's paw:
The shows of this era do things that shows in the cable era would sweat bullets to do. Representation, dissidence, psychological violence. Really we never would've gotten to thread this ground under the cable model. Also, no longer are only the high performing formulas getting made. We get weirds stuff that wouldn't have gotten greenlit.
But A lot of cool things also got lost in the transition. Hype used to last for about 3 months as seasons stretched more. We used to get to know characters better. there were standalone episodes about their lives, their relationships, about new characters that would only be relevant a whole seasons later. And despite shows relying on commercials and merch to stay afloat, that meant a popular show HAD to have merch and the merch would come out during the running of the show. Not to mention there were sketches, or behind-the-scenes about shows between commercials.
So... yeah, once again you get what you want and captialism makes sure that you'e dissapointed with it.
Heavily mourning the lack of beach episode
