fr like russia beat them at the olympics but that team had 3 child prodigies :') usa definitely doesn't have the edge they used to have but it'll be a looooong time before they lose the advantage of the depth. god forbid if one of rebeca, flavia or lorrane got injured, brazil is in major jeopardy. italy has more to work with, the loss of asia can be made up somewhat with veronica mandriota or manila esposito even, desiree might be back by then, not to mention vanessa is training again. but most like us nationals is gonna have so many gymnasts grouped around similar AA totals. of course lets see how it goes but that's my inclination. and i can't say anything about china bc i've literally only seen a handful routines and apparently the asian champs scores were inflated so who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

like russia is not here, i LOVE brazil but brazil on a hit day can challenge for bronze, maybe silver if they’re absolutely perfect, and even though italy looked stellar at euros and i think it will be a close competition where the us can’t fall 9128 times and win bc there’s no Simone Buffer. but imo they’re still the absolute favorites. lets see how oofos goes tho

(no one would be happier than me if they lost btw im a us hater i really don’t root for them ever in any situation. i just don’t think they ever lost the favoritism)

Italy for FIT Challenge 2019

Italy will attend the Flanders International Team Challenge junior competition on June 3-5. The competition will be a test for junior worlds in Gyor at the end of the month.

They are two of the youngest gymnasts training at Brixia and they recently competed in Jesolo for the first time as national team gymnasts. Translation below the cut!

- Nickname? S: Nanetta (it means little dwarf, in an affectionate way) V: Mandarina (…? It means mandarin, so I guess it’s cause her hair is ginger/orange? Lol)

- Date of birth? S: April 17th, 2004 V: February 28th, 2005

- Where are you from? S: Lesbo (Greece!) V: Monopoli (a town in the south of Italy, in the “heel” part)

- Are you an only child? S: No, I have two older sisters V: No, I have a sister

- Do you miss your parents? S: Sometimes V: Yes, because they’re far away from me
