@notbatmanyet: RT @BrotherCooper89: I was working at @CWAUnion back when this photo was taken in 2016. It was during the #VerizonStrike. @BernieSanders showed up to support our 40,000 workers, just like he did for CWA again last week & just like he's done countless times since. #BernieSolidarity, forever. #LaborDay https://t.co/LTltgYZtS6

Verizon workers are on STRIKE!
Spread the word to family, friends, co-workers that if you believe in the middle class, if you believe in good jobs. Don't cross the picket line at Verizon or Verizon Wireless. They should not get a dime of our money until they treat working people with the respect they deserve.
Here’s an op-ed with more information.
Sign the petition!
If you really want to show your support you can visit a picket line. It can actually be a lot of fun and camaraderie.

Verizon Strikers’ Creative Tactics
What's especially interesting about this article is the creative interventions the strikers have used against strikebreakers. These include finding out what hotels strike breakers are staying at and blaring noisemakers to wake them up in the very early morning. See more of their tactics below.

Hillary Clinton rakes in Verizon cash while Bernie Sanders supports company’s…
Bernie Sanders stands up for ordinary American people who are fighting to keep their $60,000/year jobs from being outsourced overseas while Verizon rakes in record profits.
Whereas Hillary Clinton is a part of the system that wants to see middle class jobs disappear from America.
Big fucking surprise.

Company pay structures
I think the NBA and sports represent fair pay out structures that’s in a way obscure to the corporate American system, but a one area in which awkwardly fair free market principles actually exist and are held accountable for.
In the NBA the CEO does not out-salary the players 300:1, in fact some of the players make decently more compensation to my understanding. I believe in the NFL actually Goodell makes 20 million per year; however, that is a high mark.
It is simply a good structure because the employees who innovate, and perform and bring in the customers, and merchandise are making fair compensation relative to their value in profit. I don’t believe that sports athletes are in anyway systemically damaging anything, because the NBA is simply something people watch out of pleasure and enjoyment. Sure special packages like NBA league ticket/ Direct TV combo or on internet/broadband package requires some payout (and you can chip in or break up costs with a friend and share a log-in) OR take on the “ghetto” style NBA live TV which actually streams all the games for free in like 240P w/ chat (and still hasn’t been pulled down miraculously).
In the NBA the players are like employees, scientists, engineers, etc. Perhaps by comparison this is like Apple company. The college teams they play for are ranked by prestige like American colleges and the players that compete the best, and have the best staff/ coaches in college elevate through competition to the best employment positions in the NBA.
Competition and capitalism exists, yet there are still fair wages.
This is not like Verizon. Although I do not know the pay-scales (you can fact check glass-door) I would estimate that 1/3 of employees are making in the $8-12 range, 1/3 are making $12-16, and the top 1/3 are making $18-22, all before commissions.. THEN the top .1% of the company.. the execs.. board.. VP, president are making in excess of 1 million.. and the CEO makes apparently $20 million per year. This is in the realm of the average company CEO 300:1 pay structure in a monopoly corporate system (with essentially price/sales trusts between company’s in the same market like cell service). Trickle down economics?
With that said you go deeper which I did.. and was confounded to understand just how much money $20 million is per year. That’s somewhere off the top of my head earlier, in the range of $10,000/ per hour. Nearing the realm of insanity once you put that into perspective. That’s about $400,000 per week! In a 52 week work year/ or perhaps 50 week with 2 unpaid/ paid vacation weeks.. you’re already making more than 99% of your employees in one week. 1.6 million per month or the amount some of your employees WON’T make in a life-time of employment at the company.. and 12x 1.6 is roughly 20 million.

Union Aristocracy Trying to Contain Verizon Strike
Read the latest on the Verizon strike and notice the conservative nature of the unions. Quoting The World Socialist Website, "The AFL-CIO and Change to Win labor federations have done everything to isolate and defeat the embattled Verizon workers." These unions are linked to the Democratic Party and will do its bidding. Communication Workers of America (CWA) has endorsed Bernie Sanders and is using the strike to help him in the primaries. We think this is a smart strategy, but it seems to be a means to an end. The World Socialist Website predicts that after the primaries, the heads of the unions will try to force an end to the strike.
