there is no point engaging. all their arguments are mired in some kind of ‘look at those hysterical women who cannot possibly understand what a manly world looks like’. you can’t reason with that mindset.

And what’s really ironic is that with all their “Dean’s a manly macho man he likes being treating like that blah blah” crap, Dean, within the show, is the one whose emotions are treated like that of an “hysterical woman” you don’t have to listen to and can ignore if you don’t like what they say. 

I actually wrote that in a response yesterday that I ended up saving to draft because I felt like the overall post was maybe too angry but what the hell is wrong with them.  Dean isn’t being treated like a man in the show with the “tough  love” especially because most of it is to make sure he continues his caretaking, never really take care of himself if it gets in the way of his taking care of others(typical female role) and has other people either explaining away his emotions by being patronizing(”he gets his wires crossed” and that ilk which we’ve heard over the years) or using it as an excuse to go behind his back and lie to him “for his own good” or not listen to him or his boundaries.

This fandom overresponsibilizes Dean to the point of blaming him for his abuse and denying his childhood but infantilizes and deresponsabilizes Sam and cas costantly. It's weird AND gross.

like... i cant even wrap my head around it, honestly? what exactly is the factor that,  always, without a fail, makes those people find 58 layers of excuses for sam and cas and coat every single of their choice, especially unrelated to direct duress and trauma, with duress and trauma but never even mention either when dean does something they don’t like?

dean is literally the most trauma-driven person on spn and his agency is in shambles but he never gets a free pass or even a nick of understanding?

sam goes off with ruby? he was believing he’s doing the right thing bc [cliff notes contorted psychology rant]

cas goes in cahoots with crowley? oh he was doing what he had to do, was trying to help and [honest to god abuse apologism]

dean does something unhealthy in regards to protecting sam, probably? that stupid stupid controlling dean! selfish hypocrite bc [rant how he should not only let sam and cas do whatever the fuck they want without a word of input, but bless and support that always] and [rant on how dean should let sam die //abuse-wiring trauma? conditioning? we don’t know her// but hey weirdly when cas or sam cant “let dean go”, that’s coolio]

ugh the spn fandom is like by far the worst thing that has ever happened to dean

He is just so done with all Sam's justifications and projecting and reckless plans that he's pulled time after time, and it's great. It's been happening for a while, but it's so clear here!

it’s funny how being traumatized and tortured matters when it’s not dean. everyone else from satan to nougat boy deserve to have their feelings acknowledged but you know dean...........he’s not a real person with actual feelings

it's bizarro land. like, sam and cas do horrible terrible things with a load of self-justification and rationalization. but the reason? it's because dean's broken. it's mind-blowing

frightening and dangerous. it’s exactly thinking like that, in real life (and mindsets regarding judgments do transfer there) that gives abusers free reign and fuel bc they get pats on their back for delivering tough love and being so patient, like a saint oh dear, with the “broken, unreasonable pupil’s antics”

i’ve got nothing. oh well actually i do. he is forcing a redemption on jack bc he identifies with him. so ‘using his powers for good’ will redeem him from idk being born from lucifer?

Yeahhh, it really looks like a weird mix of Sam projecting his own guilt onto Jack and wanting Jack to vicariously redeem him or something, while also insisting that he wasn't really bad anyway.
