AMELIA CHAO. she’s a ruthless rising star of a lawyer in the new field of superhuman and vigilante law. normally, steve wouldn’t want anything to do with her, but the opposite is true when it comes to amelia; she’s the eldest granddaughter of eric low, one of steve’s old friends from the war. she grew up on stories about steve and captain america ( and steve being captain america, since dead men don’t need secret identities ).  when amelia was studying for her juris doctor at yale, she watched numerous alien invasions and superhero fights. on an internship in manhattan, she personally investigated the vigilante scene and kept careful notes. realising that new york was the best place to pedal her trade, she left the comforts of the midwest and connecticut for nyc after graduating summa cum laude. already a partner due to her unique specialty, she goes toe-to-toe with some of the finest lawyers in the game, including matt murdock and foggy nelson. despite her busy schedule, she always finds time for biweekly / monthly lunch with uncle steve. they’re both invaluable information sources to each other, and they have a good friendship, especially when it comes to stories about 阿公 ( grandpa eric ).

“   Part of me   understands,   I get   THE FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN,   and how the human mind is keen to fill in the blanks of a world they   cannot even fathom.   They like to create monsters as they dread the crushing depths of the oceans probably even more than they dread outer space. Or perhaps the form of a creature inspires them and they keep some of their features to create something terrifying that has   NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TRUTH.

This is all well and good, but people should not accept everything that is offered to them in the form of a movie, we all know they exaggerate needlessly, but people seem likelier to believe that such creatures can come from the oceans instead of   doing their own research,   being interested enough to find out the truth.

So basically, I could never fault people for their imagination, but   IT PAINS ME TO FACE IGNORANCE   when it comes to everything that dwells in the oceans.   “
