#Repost @velosmith ・・・ Dirty Kanza is a tough event. Period. Over the past few days, the social medias are full of riders posting finishing photos. What’s not evident in these photos are the countless, dark, cold and lonely training hours. In the supporting role are the machines of Kanza. Each bike is as unique as their rider and the training programs to arrive at the finish line. In an eventual post to our blog we will dive into seven bikes that survived #dk200. What worked, what didn’t, what the riders wouldn’t change and what they would. This Seven Evergreen SL belongs to LG. So far this season this bike has conquered Haleakala in Maui, Landrun100, Barry Roubiax and now DK200. The S&S couplers make the bike easy to break down and be packed in a standard 26”x12”x12” case allowing it to slip by oversized luggage fees and the need for an oversized rental car at arrivals. SRAM eTap allows for simplicity in packing with the elimination of wires or cables for shifting and provides ample gearing for huge adventuring. Titanium makes the frame tough as nails and nearly impervious to travel, gravel and abuse. Built to last, built to suit, built to be ridden. #sevencycles #evergreening #sramroad #srametap #quarq #irideenve #gravelbike #velosmithbuilds #bikepacking #Haleakala

Love all of this #Repost @velosmith ・・・ This photo features almost everything new in road bikes. The absence of a rim brake caliper = disc brake road | a larger volume tire on wider rim = comfort AND speed | minimal cables barely visible = internally routed cables and wireless shifting. The only thing not conveyed by equipment is the rider’s mindset. New road technology = new approach to riding a “road” bike. #myparlee #velosmithbuilds #vittoriacorsa #srametap #sramroad #lovesroadbikes #custombicycle #irideenve

#Repost @velosmith ・・・ In the decade + of designing, planning and envisioning Velosmith, there were a handful of aspects that served as cornerstones of the business concept. Among them was an open service department. The idea was to bring the mechanical aspects of Velosmith’s work front and center. At Velosmith we feel details make a difference and everything, no matter how small, contribute to delivering an amazing riding experience. #velosmithbuilds

#Repost @velosmith ・・・ Well-made titanium bikes are built to last. Ask anyone who has one. In many cases a titanium bike will remain the “go-to” for decades. Bikes may come and go in your collection but the titanium bike remains. In that time they will likely be built and rebuilt as component technology advances. When considering a titanium bike, we advise riders to think about a more distant horizon of ownership. Where you are now as a cyclist but also, where are you going? These bikes do not represent “latest/greatest” rather they are “tried/true”. These aren’t bikes that will go out of style or be eclipsed by the new model’s 30% stiffer drivetrain or improved aero features. These are bikes that can take a beating, that can be neglected and continue deliver an amazing experience. If you’re considering a new bike and approach the process with a long-term mindset, consider titanium. You owe it to yourself to at least explore the option. #titaniumbike #mosaiccycles #nahbs2018 #velosmithbuilds #lightweightwheels #lightweightgipfelsturm #eebrakes #sramred #ceramicspeed #lovesroadbikes #kingcages

#Repost @velosmith ・・・ One more ride before the year comes to a close. 2016 was a year where I purchased a bike for myself. Or, more accurately a frame set. The Parlee Z-Zero has been a popular choice among our clients this year and I must say - for good reason! I recycled a DA 9070 group and SRM. I decided to stay with rim brakes as I waited for eTap hydro, flat mount and thru-axles. I've ridden many miles on the Z-Zero all on 28mm tires and pressures ranging from 60 psi to 70. Nothing more. #lovesroadbikes #myparlee #parleecycles #srmpower #pc8 #velosmithbuilds
