Help this two-time award-winning children's book find new life after unexpectedly going out of print!

Can you imagine the excitement of releasing your first children's book and not only having it do well, but also win not one award, but two? Exciting, right? You celebrate and you share the good news and set up events to promote this successful book...

Only to discover that the publisher, due to unforeseen circumstances, is having to close down operations and your bright little award-winning gem is suddenly no more.

Devastating. Absolutely devastating.

This is the story of Liz DeJesus (winner of the 2023 Delaware Individual Artist Fellowship: Emerging Literature: Creative Non-fiction), Amber Davis, and ABCs with the Vejigantes (awarded 1st place at the 2023 Delaware Press Association Communications Contest Awards and 1st place at the 2023 NFPW Professional Communications Contest). 

With your help, it doesn't have to be the end of the story.

Shall we resurrect this book in a bigger and better version before the dropped pages have even settled?

Rio Piñero(El Chicharrón de pollo). Un chicharrón is a fried pork belly or rind. Un chicharrón de pollo is fried chicken that mimics the look of pork. Rio used to be a real pig. He used to be a real chicken too. And a human! One day however, his transformation abilities stopped working so now he’s stuck as a chicken pig. The Queen doesn’t allow animal forms on her grounds but still finds Rio amusing so he’s sitting on a beach weeping, singing, and dancing(at least when his husband is there).

El Vejigante is an actual creature in Wonderland. Tales have been written about them being these ferocious beasts that must be slain. But when you get to meet them, they’re mostly just mischief makers. This one in particular is quite playful and curious

BTC Shopkeeper concept

I finally took the time out of my life to finally focus and draw a concept art for one of the shopkeepers that will most likely help our heroes in our journey. One of the best things about making my own Undertale project is that i get to put stuff related to my culture into the Undertale world. This is a Vejigante, in short they are demons from Puerto Rican folklore and they pop around tpduring festivals and/or carnival time. However this guy right here isnt really that much of a carnival fan, he is mostly focussed on keeping his business afloat and pretty much earn that sweet sweet cash, by any means necessary. 💰😈
