I don’t know, I feel weird about telling people just to pick up Kierkegaard and start reading. I’ve been in classes about these thinkers and I don’t always understand the nuances of their arguments and the points they’re trying to make. Hegel and Kant and Schopenhauer are really not the most approachable writers.

If anon wanted a list of philosophers, I’m happy to give my own (I’d probably add in some Descartes and Hume, Locke instead of Mill and Sidgwick) but I feel like pushing someone headfirst some of the thorniest philosophical texts is setting them up for failure.
