Red Admiral has an origin story as ridiculous and unnecessary as any supervillain worth their salt. once an accomplished entomologist studying carnivorous lepidoptera, a bite from a mutated specimen gave her the ability to dissolve into a swarm of vampire butterflies the same way a typical vampire transforms into a swarm of bats. with her new power, she's turned to a life of crime simply for the novelty of it, and believes her claim to the butterfly-based villain niche is more legitimate than the Monarch's. Swallowtail doesn't have powers, but makes up for it with her sick butterfly knife skills. she was a bit disappointed to discover that serving as a supervillain's right-hand woman is basically a glorified internship, but hey, it's still kinda cool. by day, Aditi Tallavarjula works at a hole-in-the-wall comic book shop frequented by one Gary Fischer. eventually he works up the nerve to ask her out, but hilarity ensues as both parties try to hide their henchman double-life from the other. It’s been a year since the release of the Venture Bros movie “Radiant is the blood of the baboon heart” , so what better way to celebrate than draw none other than Mantilla herself. For those unfamiliar , mantilla is a character introduced in that movie, serving as the main antagonist and also something that ties the answer to the 7 season long question about the titular venture brothers : who is their biological mom?

Feeling proud of this one because I managed to shoehorn Thai (and buddhist) mythology into it, the pose she’s making is based off the earth deity , พระแม่ธรณี / Dharani’s. The figures to the top left is the release da the of the movie in Thai numerals.

The venture bros movie is such a perfect send-off to the series. It's action packed, it's dumb and mundane, it features a ton of character cameos, it has new faces and old mysteries being solved...And most importantly, Hank and Dean make up.

(Spoilers below)

In the early seasons, Hank and Dean's mom was a huge burning question that lingered over the show. But as time went on it became less relevant, especially as Hank and Dean grew up and discovered themselves. By the time we hit season 7, nobody even really cared anymore when Action Man revealed who their mom was.

I think if the series had progressed, it still wouldn't have mattered. I think the venture family would've continued to be mommy-less(as Doc Hammer puts it). But bringing this plotline back for the film is amazing. It helps tie in the early seasons with the later ones in a way that brings payoff. Plus the introduction of two new female characters(who have ties to the venture family) is great. Manilla is an awesome villain and I loved what she had going on with Dr Mrs the Monarch.

But let's get back to Hank and Dean. Man, I love these two. The unfortunate part of their character growth was that they grew apart. I'm still annoyed with the Serena Situation, but the boys had been separated long before that. They went from being a duo to... Not. And this film at least has them making amends. It's not perfect, but they're on good terms again and that's enough for me. I also love how goofy Dean is the whole film. For so long he was Designated Emo and now he gets to be happy again. And Hank goes on a whole emotional journey... It's nice. They've both grown, but that doesnt mean sacrificing character.

I like how the film ends with the Venture Tower landing right on the compound site. I feel it's very symbolic of how the ventures can't run from their past. But Hank and Dean making amends there shows they have a future.

Im thinking about a universe where only the twins are genderbent so basically Rusty had twin girls. It would legit be a fucking nightmare to have him as a father and Brock would be completely different he would be torn between trying to teach them realistic shit and not wanting to make them too masculine meanwhile Rusty the guy who says Dean smells like a whore just for putting on too much spray, would be HORRIBLE god he'd be so fatphobic and misogynistic and honestly would probably be way creepier. like the girls would end up running away and joining molotov and try to kill Rusty before being stopped by Brock who is just shocked when he realizes what's happening and it ends in a stalemate and the twins slip away
