pikmin is these lil guys doing tasks for u. depending on the game u have a different goal. i will poorly explain them
pikmin 1 just had red blues and yellows and u had to collect ur ship parts after crashlanding within 30 days
pikmin 2 added purple and white. ur goal was to collect objects to pay off ur company's debts bc ur boss is a dumbass.
pikmin 3 added rock and winged pikmin iirc. u had to collect fruit so u wouldn't die but also rescue the main character of the first nd second game bc he got stranded. again.
pikmin 4 added ice and glow pikmin. ur part of a rescue group gone to the pikmin planet to go rescue all the people who crashlanded there. that happens a lot.
bulbmin and the mushroom purple guys i think are either unused or are in some weird special mode or smth idk

I was so sure they were from the same game and then they look so similar too and this will get so much worse when I tell ou that I thought Riku was the one with the brown hair and the big key but I am starting to notice that that might be wrong and now I'm not really sure if those two are even from the same game
