The best time to visit the Valley of Flowers depends on your preferences and goals. Here are some general recommendations:
If you want to see the greatest variety and abundance of flowers, come here from mid-July to mid-August, when the valley blooms after the first monsoon rains.
If you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy a leisurely stroll, visit between May and June or September and October, when the valley is less crowded and the weather is pleasant.
If you want to experience the snowy beauty of the valley, you should visit it during the months of November to April when the valley is closed for tourists, but you can still visit nearby places like Hemkund Sahib.
Please note, the Valley of Flowers is only open from the beginning of June to the beginning of October because it is covered in snow the rest of the year. Permission from the forest service is required to enter the valley. which costs Rs. 150 rupees for Indians and 600 rupees for foreigners.

HimalayaShelter Trekking and Camping in Uttarakhand .
Himalaya Shelter specializes in trekking, camping and adventure activities in the Himalayas in India. We provide Best & affordable packages. Trekking and Camping in Uttarakhand – Himalayas, Dehradun .
Har ki Dun trek, is a valley that is situated in Govind Wildlife sanctuary, Uttarkashi district in north-west Uttarakhand. It was a cradle shaped valley that can only be reached by trekking to the valley. The distance to the Har ki Dun valley is 25 KM from the road head. Thus the total trek distance is 50 KM. It takes 2 to 3 days to reach the valley and return in another 2 days.
Bali Pass trek has a lot to offer apart from its virgin trails and a challenging pass climb. We are surrounded either by the mighty Swargarohini or Bandarpunch ranges at almost all times.
We get to see Kalanag (Black Peak) & Swargarohini Peak up close. At 6,387 meters, the Kalanag peak is highest in this region. This peak was first summited by Jack Gibson in 1955 and the students of Doon school. We spend a day beside the Ruinsara Lake. The walk across the two meadows of Devsu Thatch and Thanga is breathtaking. One of our camps will be beside a waterfall and another one lies above 4,000 m.
Wild animals such as Himalayan Ibex and Blue Sheep, Black Bears, Brown bears can be spotted occasionally on this trail! Our teams have sighted the Black bear on this trail ahead of Seema and near the waterfall camp, while the Brown bear was spotted near Thanga Campsite, and during an exploration towards Dhumdhar Kandi pass during the rest day at Ruinsara Lake. While the trail to Bali pass turns southward towards Yamunotri ahead of Ruinsara Lake, the eastward route continues to the challenging Dhumdhar Kandi. Its a daunting pass sharing its base camp with Black Peak and goes to Harsil. The Bali pass unlike a conventional pass, which means a saddle like opening between neighboring rising ridge, rises like a peak and gives a summit like adventure when you reach the top. The same can be visually seen in the summit stretch picture of Bali pass below.
Towards the end of the Bali Pass trek, we see the Bandarpunch Glacier & Saptrishi Kund. They are the true source of river Yamuna. We also get an opportunity to visit the holy temple of Yamunotri. All in all, Bali Pass is a wholesome adventure that provides trekkers with every element of a Himalayan trek.
Phulara Ridge Trek : Govind Pashu Vihar National Park is the home to many trekking routes. Sankri, situated within the park, acts as a base camp for treks such as Har Ki Dun, Bali Pass and Kedarkantha. Pushtara Meadows via Phulara Ridge is one of the lesser known but an amazing trek. The trek is very unique due to the landscape and nature of its trail. Ridges are uncommon in the Indian Himalayas. But this trail takes you on a walk atop a ridge that lasts for almost 2 hours! Given that this is one of a kind trek in the Uttarakhand Himalayas, it is slowly earning its well-deserved fame in the trekking world, it is best to pay it a visit before the crowds arrive.
Winter Kedarkantha trek: December is the most popular time for Kedarkantha. Trekkers in good numbers plan the trek, especially during the Christmas and new years' eve. By second week of December snow usually covers the landscape till Basecamp of Kedarkantha and snow is to a degree present at Juda Ka Talab as well. By end of December the landscape turns into a wonderland straight out of a Disney movie. Tall pine trees and shorter shrubs, all are covered in thick snow and the campsites are whitewashed under a snow blanket, with the bright tents contrasting against the landscape at campsites. Juda Ka Talab begins to freeze as the temperatures dip below 0 and up-to minus 5 to minus 8 degrees.
Dayara Gidara Bugyal Trek : Across a ridge that runs to the north west of the Gangotri valley, a set of ridge peaks dot this demarcation from the valley to other side. Mukta top, Siyari top, Dayara top (Bakariya top) & Surya top to name them. Under these ridge peaks are situated heavenly meadows that stretch far and wide. Two such meadows (bugyals), namely Dayara Bugyal & Gidara Bugyal are both massive and remarkably beautiful. Dayara bugyal to Gidara bugyal trek is a trek that runs across the ridge line that connects these two meadows and is an old shepherd route, that trekkers rarely come across.
Gaumukh Tapovan Trek: The Gaumukh glacier is the source of Bhagirathi and is held in high esteem by the devout who do not miss the opportunity to have a holy dip in the bone chilling icy water. Gaumukh is where the water of Ganga trickles down from the glaciers. The sages called it 'Gaumukh', because in the distant past, it probably appeared like a cow's mouth. Tapovan is an ideal location for travelers looking for peace and adventure. Tapovan is located at an altitude of 4,463 m / 14,640 ft above sea level.
Kashmir Great Lakes Trek **:**In the Kashmir state of India, located in the Western Himalayas, nestled between the Pir Panjal range to its south, the mighty Karakoram range to its north and north-west, and finally the Zanskar range to its east, is a cluster of alpine lakes and vast meadows that form the main attraction of the Kashmir Great Lakes trek.
The region geographically stretches from a mountain known as Harmukh (5142 meters) to the famous hill station of Sonamarg to the east. The trek to the great lakes is a continuous route and thus it can be approached from either sides, i.e. starting from Naranag, near Srinagar and concluding at Sonamarg or vice versa. The preferred route is through Sonamarg as it has two distinct advantages. Firstly, the trek starts from a higher altitude of almost 2,700 meters compared to 2,400 meters from Naranag. Secondarily, the trail is more gradual from Sonamarg compared to the initial steep sections from Naranag.
The Kashmir great lakes trek distance is 75 KM in total and the moderately difficult trek is ideally completed in a duration of 7 Days from Srinagar, with 6 Trekking days. The drive on the first day to Sonmarg is rather short and a total distance of 80 KM can be covered in around 3 to 4 hours with adequate stopovers, as the landscape is magnificent along the route.
Valley of Flowers trek: A mystical walk through the valley that opens up to a flower bed, with peaks and glacier in background and a river bed; Valley of flowers is an ultimate destination for nature lovers. Situated between the Zanskar and the Great Himalayan ranges, Valley of Flowers is a renowned World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was discovered by Frank Smythe, Holdsworth & Shipton while returning from one of their mountaineering expeditions. This happened in 1931, after coming back from a successful Mt. Kamet expedition, the team of six mountaineers stumbled upon the Bhyundar valley while returning and to this very day this valley continues to attract trekkers, naturalists, botanists, nature lovers and mountaineers. The discovery of the valley was unintentional yet has now turned into a sensational destination.
Nag Tibba trek : lies on the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayas, North-East of Mussoorie. The peak is at an altitude of 3100 m. It offers spectacular views of Mussoorie, Vikasnagar, the Banderpoonch range and spurs created by the Yamuna river valley. Nag Tibba is a typical ridge peak on the Nag Tibba Range of the lower Himalayas. In fact, along with the Pir Punjal and Dhauladhar, the Nag Tibba range forms one of the 3 main ranges of the lower Himalayas. It is mentioned in the very famous book '7 years in Tibet' which chronicles the escape of Austrian climber Hienrich Harrer from the British jail into Tibet.

In Rishikesh, Take Off on an Amazing River Rafting Adventure
When Is the Ideal Time to Go River Rafting rishikesh? Don't just sit on the shoreline and declare yourself satisfied, as the legendary Garth Brooks famously remarked. Decide to dance with the tide and take a chance on the rapids." For those looking for an extreme experience, Rishikesh—often referred to as the adventure capital of India—is the best place to go. It's crucial to remember that Rishikesh's river rafting season isn't continuous. Usually, it lasts nine months, starting in mid-September and ending at the end of June. The arrival and length of the monsoon may have an impact on the season's precise duration.
Select Your Rafting Stretch: To accommodate varying degrees of adventure, Rishikesh offers a variety of rafting stretches. There's a stretch for every level of thrill-seeker, from beginner to expert:
1. Brahmpuri Rafting: With a 9 km route to NIM Beach and a 12 km option, this length is ideal for novices and schoolchildren. Depending on the monsoon, it may open as early as late August and remain open until the end of June. Savor a mild introduction to river rafting and Grade II rapids.
2. Shivpuri Rafting: This 16-kilometer stretch offers body surfing, cliff leaping, and river rafting from Shivpuri to Rishikesh. It begins operation seven to ten days following the Brahmpuri Rafting Season and ends the first week of June. Discover the exhilaration of the Ganges and Grade III rapids.
