I just wanted to point this out since I realized some others might not notice it— Valerie’s original suit had the same sort of ‘base’ components as ‘Phantom’/Danny’s. I know it’s probably since they’re both hazmat-esque but like I just love them and I always have

Just bringing it up since I’m doing more doodling and studying of Val’s original suit for doodle reasons, they both have the same little components for the base and I find that amusing as if to tie a similarity to them despite being enemies

I just figured it was obvious but I like just remembered it now that I could look at her suit again, and I love it

And if my shitty doodle wasn’t enough for an explanation-

If we just scrubbed away some of the defining features and just looked at the main outline, they’d look really similar!

I would’ve included the little neck thing but like most the time or half the time it doesn’t show that for Danny? So I didn’t decide to highlight it but that ALSO is a little similar since Valerie’s suit has that small neck bit

Like imagine taking away the hair and ears outline all and such with the picture I had of Danny for reference- if it weren’t for the fact that we all know that pose and the small bits that are different, the outlines themselves looks really similar.

I did a rough version of it— you kinda get what I mean, right?

more updating designs i wanted to share ,

ft. Corine Zegmer ( Torox's Older sister ) reajusing her warm/blue grey feather colors and made them resemble to a parrot ,

made a few changes on her hair ( mainly adding a bun and place it down and a braid ) .

i simplified the patterns of her face and horns ,

and with an updated formal outfit ( along adding a morning glory flower pin )

and Helena Saez Valerie

she heirs magic powers from her mom ( Ruth , who was a known mage before dissapearing after she took a dangerous path )

 besides Helena uses her magic to summon and control objects by a certain ammount of time.

she likes to experiment and learn new things with her magic , one of them is creating a temporal set of wings.,

notes of designs: i simply reajust her color fur patterns and added some earings in adittion , i'm super happy how both have turned out , specially with Helena , she took me the longest on finding a pattern that i liked.

ofc i took breaks from these attempts and this one ( aka the design i was looking for ) i took it with all the calm , revisited the previous attempts i made if theres some features i really liked to apply for Helena, ( and making a doodle of her parents and also looking at photos of different types of foxes for pattern references also helped me ) ,

again i'm so happy with both Corine and helena's Designs so much

Woo! Page of drawings for me to get back into the swing of drawing again. It’s about this demon au with maybe magic girls? I dunno, I can’t decide whether or not to also have magical girls be a thing but it is definitely a demon au. Phantom and Danny are separate beings. Anyways, I’ll say a few things about each drawing under the cut, I could talk more about this AU in general but not on this post.

Top left - Phantom the demon-as Danny nicknamed him-gets out of the portal in his fully taken over form. Shortly thereafter Danny gains back control(not pictured).

Bottom left - Danny when he’s in control of his demon form I guess. I don’t know how else to format that sentence. I don’t know who he’s saying hi to, but he’s blushing.

Middle - a little doodle of Danny with a random brush I found

Top Right - The beginning of Danny transforming. I can’t think of a phase to replace “going ghost” for this au and it’s making me go crazy.

Bottom Right - Valerie Ref for this au! She basically the same but I gave her a cool coat(I love drawing coats), a little change to her bandanna(it has little wings on the end), a mask and ski goggles to replace her original mask because I wanted to show her hair, and gave her visual indicators about what she would do and her gloves and boots. Just thought that would be cool.

This happens on an actual mission, with Valerie running comms (she's not actually in the field right now, just supervising because Trix is there) and Trix and Blaze on the ground. I haven't talked about Trix outside discord so have this quick doodle for reference:

Beatrix short Trix is Val's successor as next leader for the Mission Support division. Val snatched her up near instantly after she joined the Varia. Why? No one really knows because when you look at Trix you don't really see leader material. She's a spitfire who loves fighting and a short fuse. But her heart is at the right place (according to Val) and she has a strict moral code which she lives by. It helps that she's also pretty smart and quick on her feet.

Trix can't stand Blaze. She finds his obsession with fire and the Boss creepy beyond belief and she would be just fine if he would dropped dead in the next few seconds. The dislike is mutual btw Blaze doesn't like it when people judge his beliefs (dude your life goal is to be incenerated by your boss, that's clearly judge worthy). These two are on a mission mostly as a test for Trix and her patience, Val needs to know if she will be able to put the mission first before her personal feelings. It's why Val is supervising, because this can go to shit real fast.

ahhhh valerie’s situation would have been. Bad. omg i’ve actually made some doodles relating to this WOW if only i had my sketchbook on me rn.

tbh i just dont see it ending well at all. she would probably split time with both frost and surge (they werent together to start with i believe? may change that but they split pretty quickly) and frost was Not excited to be raising a child again. she just got rid of the last one, dammit. like with marlow, she does the bare minimum for valerie. just feeds and houses her with none of the love. she would mostly just ignore her daughter and pawn her off to other people as much as possible.

surge would be comparatively better but…. they do not know how to interact with kids. theyre a battle-worn brute who isnt afraid to use underhanded tactics to get what they want…. and i think valerie was always gonna be the softer type. so its a relationship thatd probably be better once she was older and they could bond with her through battling, but i dont think it would have been fantastic during her formative years. theyd probably butt heads a lot due to their different ideals anyways. like theyd have their sweet moments probably, i think at the end of the day if anyone can break surge’s shell, its their daughter, but its like castor and bruno probably where they care about and love each other but there are Unresolved Issues There

valerie would end up being touch starved and not nearly as socially adept as she is in canon. she wouldnt know how to talk to people, she’d be incredibly insecure in her interests, she’d probably have a bad

Saturday 24th June 2023 - Bands, Lyn Lapid and parties (but i wasn't invited) I currently have 'to love in the 21st century' blasting my eardrums out as I type this, so I think it's fair to say Lyn is singlehandedly making me deaf by the time im 20.

I also got a huge part in the local production of Little Women - Beth!! She's the second-youngest sister and I am super excited to play hear as I adore Little Women in general, the movie and books are incredible. Rehearsals start soon and the performances are in October.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers that I tried to ask Janek out - let's just say it was one hell of a failure. It's almost been two weeks since I asked and I still have no answer. I can't really be bothered to try and ask him again - I'm taking it as a no and moving on as best as I can. He's currently at Harvey's for a party, which is basically just a boys' night in. With alcohol, I believe. Which, definitely could be interesting. Mattson is there too, as is Eliot. Harvey did consider inviting Alison and I but decided against it, since well, it's a guys' night. To be honest, I probably would've spent most of my time avoiding Janek as to not make it awkward and trying to stick to Alison's side while she flirts helplessly with Harvey. So I would've been third-wheeling at a guys' night. Not the best. Talking of parties, Harry and Matty got invited to Sienna's, a girl I used to sit next to in chem. Alison and Valerie are going too. I hope they have a good time, imma just sit here and type and write cards and scrapbook for most of the evening now. Today was spent at band rehearsal because I have a concert tomorrow evening and we are not prepared for it - but I know I probably will be fine as long as I play the right notes (and I can do that. I hope.) It's also Reagan's birthday fling tomorrow, and the council are going to an escape room, which could be seriously interesting. I'm sure I'll hear all about it and I'll keep whatever strangers who read these updated. Anyway I'm off, I have thank-you cards to write and a scrapbook to doodle on. ~CM
