me and my friend from prep school always have the exact same debate on valentines day

she always says we should stop celebrating love and instead mourn his death and self sacrifice in the name of love

and i say well he died for love, in the name of love so we can use the anniversary of his death to bring back to life what he died for

and we always do it on our whatsapp status

it’s a tradition at this point like we both got up this morning went “ah yes time for the VD debate”

it’s not like anyone’s ever going to win it’s just a tradition

1. when/how did you discover them? + what was the first song you listened to? in 2016 when they played stressed out up and down on the radio... I loved the way Tyler pronounced the "d" in stressed out... so a bit basic but you know, I'm glad it was a hit or else I might not have found them

2. have you been on concert(s)? once in 2019 on the bandito tour in Berlin (I got to spend valentines day with them <3)

3. do you remember where you were when trench dropped (if you were a fan by then)? when they released natn and jumpsuit I was in Croatia with no mobile data and shitty signal... so I took my moms partners phone to basically the only spot where I could get signal and downloaded the two songs on spotify on the actual release on oct 5th-ish I was in my moms partners flat, they were asleep and my phone had no power... so I took his laptop and headphones to listen to the album... I cried the whole time

4. favourite thing about the clique? when I went to the concert there were people giving out yellow duct tape and everyone really dressed the part... it felt like we were all part of something bigger

5. any memorable/funny/interesting quote (from interviews/bts footage/…) you especially like? i've had "its possible but is it plausible" as my whatsapp status for a few years now, idk why really... *slap* NO is also a classic... oh or sEX 'n the ciTyYYyYy

6. what would you want to ask/tell them if you got the chance? I would tell them thank you for being there for me with their music but also how inspiring they are with battling social anxiety, depression,...

Valentine's day

Dear Diary, February 16, 2023. 23.54 PM time zone Indonesia.

Two days ago was Valentine's Day. Hahahaha that doesn't mean anything to me😁😁🙏. While on the other side of the world called social media, many happy couples upload pictures and videos that tell their happiness on Valentine's Day.

Then it flashed a question in my head: Is it possible for people who have a partner to celebrate valentine's day? What if someone doesn't have a partner like my current condition?

I was alone at home that day, Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Even I forgot that day was Valentine's Day. If only I hadn't seen in the WhatSApp group some people sending valentine day greetings to group members, I certainly don't remember that it was valentine's day.

I also didn't get a chocolate gift from anyone. Luckily I always have stock in my bag of Silver Queen chocolate, it's a famous brand since I was a kid.

Dear Diary, February 15th I uploaded on my WhatsApp status this picture:

With caption: Yesterday was valentine's day? No one gave me a valentine's greeting, and no one gave me a cokkat. Fortunately, I always have at least 2 stocks of chocolate SQ in my bag...😊🙏

You know, Diary? No one send me a comment lol...😂😂🤣🙏

When I don't accept valentine's greetings and don't receive chocolate gifts from anyone, it doesn't make me sad. My happiness is not because of it.

My happiness is because every morning I have a special time with someone who is always around me. Someone who never judged me. Someone who loves me the way I am. And accept me as I am. Accepting my stupidity, my weakness, my naivety.

Someone who was always beside me wherever I went. Someone whose love never goes out for me.

Someone who always provided his ears for me. And He never tired of listening to my grumblings, as well as my snobbery.

I comforted crying and telling Him about my heart's sadness. My helplessness at a time when I was devastated to find out my husband was cheating on me with the woman who had been his secretary for 12 years. The affair he returned to do for the 7th time.

Ah, it's a very long story to tell. I have to go to bed now.

Tomorrow I have to go to a café in Jakarta, in the afternoon and will definitely go home at night. So I have to rest a lot and not sleep late tonight.

I'm still writing a true story about my husband's infidelity that I've been having since 2021 for me to publish. Pray for me, Diary. I want to strengthen many other women who are going through the same thing so that they can move on quickly and live life with confidence, and enjoy the happiness of life even without a husband.

I have to sleep now. I will write you again as soon as I have time.
