once again the legacy bashing in this show is SO good and complex…. daemon and rhaenyra holed up on dragonstone teaching jace old valyrian and the history of the conquest because to them it is both imperative and a foregone conclusion (somehow) that he will sit the throne….. instead of like…. keeping an eye on the developing situation at kings landing and teaching the boys present-skills that could keep them safe and ensure future survival… but also from nyra’s point of view, jace NEEDS the historical background to understand/enact the prophecy that viserys has essentially doomed them all with..
