The bow frolicked merrily on the strings and his fingers danced nimbly up and down the fingerboard, steadfast and passionate to the last second, til the song’s denouement arrived. Though the patrons applauded their appreciation, he suspected but a dozen were sober enough to consciously acknowledge his performance. A shame, but he’d grown accustomed to it, and it kept him occupied — students didn’t require tutoring when the hour was bleeding into twilight. Plus, the gig provided him coin — to him, this qualified as an evening well-spent.
Luran took a graceful bow and conjured up a charming smile, welcoming the compliments, welcoming the recognition, the admiration — the admiration he so desperately craved — and hopped off of the stage. Time to collect his pay, unless the owner of the establishment requested an encore, of course — he could always be tempted to play a musical piece or two, as long the funding was lavish, generous. Though his mind was set on gold, his eyes were captured by a courtesan beckoning him, an invitation he wasn’t going to decline — especially since a beverage was involved.
He meandered between the people, strolling with the effort and elegance of an elf; the smile expanded when her compliment reached his pointy ears.
‘Why, thank you,’ he said modestly, though his chest puffed with pride. ‘And thank you,’ he added, holding up the jug she’d offered him — gods, he needed a drink. 'I’m happy to hear you enjoyed my performance. The violin is, by far, one of the most superb, most sophisticated, and — above all else — most superior of all instruments — difficult to master, but the challenge, the struggle, yields its own rewards. And to be able to perform here — anywhere — is a true privilege, an honour! ‘Correct me if I’m wrong, but you appear to be fond of music; what instruments have your preference?

It had been a while since a proper performance was held at Sharess' Caress. Music was always a nice addition and a way to increase the mood within the brothel. Fairly quickly it'd motivated everyone up on their feed, some dancing with her fellow courtesans while others just enjoyed the performance. It was quite wholesome in a way. While the world moved around her, she remained seated in her chair simply watching the performing male.
Her hand resting in her palm, elbow on the wooden table. And just like that time went by so quickly. The performance ended, perhaps for him to take a break or maybe it was the end of his working day. Applause filled the room and so she joined in with gentle claps. She followed him with her gaze as he left the stage and before he could disappear out of sight she waved him over with a hand. Holding out a drink as an offer. 'That was quite good.'

Jaheira was no stranger to the rain — in truth, she welcomed it, the cold droplets a small reprieve from the summer heat. But rain also meant slogging through the practicalities of camping in it, and the prospect of pitching a tent on muddy soil was far from appealing. So the Harper moved briskly, scanning for any patch of dry land to shelter until they could secure a proper room at an inn. Her search brought her under the bridge at Wyrm’s Crossing, where a small stretch of dry earth clung stubbornly to the riverbank. It was uneven and far too precarious if the Chionthar decided to swell, but it would serve for now — at least until the rain passed, sparing her from becoming entirely drenched.
Then, Jaheira’s eyes caught sight of her — a lone figure in the midst of what would soon become a downpour.
Not my problem.
The Harper turned her focus elsewhere, but the harder she tried to ignore the girl, the more her presence gnawed at Jaheira’s attention. She was just... sitting there, on damp soil, letting herself be drenched and likely caked in mud by now.
Not my problem.
Jaheira teared her gaze away, but not even a second later, she found herself glancing back. With a muttered curse under her breath, she called out, "Hey! What in the nine hells are you doing sitting there?" Her voice was firm but not unkind as she motioned to the girl, beckoning her to come under the bridge and out of the downpour.

It was a day in which darkness seemed to cling onto her a little tighter than usual. The gloomy aura radiating off of her for no particular reason. Perhaps a few things hadn't gone her way but none would explain just the sheer amount of dread she felt that day. Those little reminders of her faith lying around the corner. She wouldn't be able to escape forever and she knew that. There had to be something, something to convince Lolth to change her mind. But what was it, that Eirlys could offer her other than herself as a blood sacrifice-- but well, that'd defeat the purpose of becoming free again.
She sat in the grass, dress draped around her hips. Fingers brushing through the glass blades, eventually tugging a few out of the earth. Unbeknownst to her, clouds had started forming in the air around her. A manifestation of her mood perhaps. Before she knew, rain would fall.. at first sparingly and eventually becoming a full on rainfall. She remained unmoved however. The cold rain against her skin being a nice reminder of her still being alive in this moment. Soon enough she became drenched, water leaving puddles around the uneven grass.
