Even as far back as1920s the Guarahoons used to travelled from South America to worship on San Fernando hill The hill, anoutcrop of Argillite is the highest point in the Naparima Plains, original a dome-shaped with a flattened top, the size was reduced by more than a third as a result of unrestricted quarrying in the 1970s, the hill originally supported semi-evergreen foerest, but it was replaced by cultivatedspecies prior to the devestation of the Hill by quarrying.
