I'm currently spending my Sunday afternoon cozy & listening to music while I work on this. St. Cloud (Galactus), Pei Wei (Silver Surfer) & my VBros OC, Edith Athalia (Emma Frost inspired).

( and yes...I came up with this idea bc of this 2 second frame in the Quizboy & Pink Pilgrim opening). Also I bought a poster from Etsy of St. Cloud & Pei Wei based on this too (which also inspired me).

So... continuing my thoughts on crossover ideas again, I had this thought after seeing some fanart... Devil May Cry/Marvel/Shin Megami Tensei crossover. Maybe have it be something like Nero is contracted a mission to test the Nahobino similar to how his uncle was contracted to test the Demi-Fiend, all while a different force, I'm thinking from the Marvel side of the idea, is looking to stop the Nahobino and/or take the Throne.

One idea I had for the Marvel side of things is maybe making Loki a sort of behind-the-scenes mastermind, maybe not in a bid to take the Throne but to find someone who can. Maybe he shows up to Lucifer and is like "Hello, old friend. Say... How about a little wager?" I only posit this idea because something tells me, even though I have not gotten very far into SMTV Vengeance, that Lucifer kinda likes that the Nahobino have returned. And going with Marvel's Loki, the God of Mischief is not above making things into a spectacle. Who would Loki put his bets into? I like to think he would bet on multiple horses in this race, as while not always the brightest, Loki can be pretty crafty. The ideas I have for who Loki would put stake into, and in all honesty most of my choices are some of the semi-known and some of the semi-obscure favorites of mine.

So far, for Loki's "champions," to put it one way, I'm thinking: Daken, Eric Masterson, Ben Reilly, Luke Cage and/or Iron Fist. Or maybe instead of those last two, I'll go with Victor Alvarez, who has taken on Luke Cage's hero name of Power Man but has chi-based powers like Iron Fist.

I also did just have the idea while writing this of maybe some Marvel characters are also now workers of the in-universe Devil May Cry business, so maybe they would tag along with Nero. I'm thinking that two of those Marvel characters that would are Robbie Reyes and Laura Kinney. Both have some experience with fighting demons, and I think it could be a fun dynamic to write for Nero, Robbie, and Laura. Maybe I could have it that they start by testing the Protagonist but as things go along start having some doubts and maybe start doing their own thing. I also had this idea of making Laura the Knowledge of Amaterasu, using her connection to the Uni-Power as a bit of inspiration. Also, thinking about it, Nero having a teammate who, unknown to them all, has the potential to take the Throne is a fun idea.

Another idea I had while typing this out is say making Nico Minoru into a Panagia, a Goddess of Creation, as the protagonist, with two Nahobino as the ones to sway her in choosing Order or Chaos. I don't know why this popped in my head, but I think it could be be a pretty cool idea to try writing.

"He nevah takes a hint, does he...?" Harley huffs, fingers flying across the screen of her phone. Somewhat outdated, but it was a good price, worked better than her old stuff...and was relevant to the universe she was situated in.

Had been "situated in" for a few years, if anyone cared to pay attention! (She...sort of did. Not enough to sweat it anymore, anyways.)

Now, if only the costumed goofball she'd gotten attached to would reply to her texts...!! The world (and greater multiverse) would be better off for it.

There was another moment.. Peter had a hard time not looking confused for a second, the way Harley powered through something she was about to say to change the subject as quick as she could.

He gave a smile back, though his eyes probably betrayed the fact that he was really trying to figure Harley out in that moment..

At the very least they had an incredibly comfortable place to lay their heads, what else? Who knows? Who even needed much else than this in life? A cozy place to rest, a roof over their heads, a great dinner just prior...

This was the kind of life that Peter thought about every now and again, wondering if it would even be possible.

"Yeah... Hey, Harley?" Peter had let things hang in the air for a minute or two, but he needed to ask something to keep his brain from scrambling with what if thoughts.

He just turned his head to look at her, "I-It's hard for me sometimes to really broach subjects and stuff, talking is... Well, we were already just talking, but like, talking talking can be kind of tough for me." He was really losing his tracks. "Okay... I sort of just do all my coping on the fly, and sometimes that makes it hard for me to remember to check in.. So, are you okay, Harley?"

"I mean, like.. Just okay, I already know you've seen your share of broken windows and explosions, but... I gotta ask.."

"Mm?" His call to her attention had her, immediately. Eyes opening again to watch him, smile slowly fading as she watched the troubled look in Pete's expression. Lots of thinking going on in that head of his… Did a metric ton of it- if not more- but always showed it… A feat lost on Harley, lest she was purposefully playing it up. Charming…and a little weakness of his.

She did love it, though. Would be impossible to reject any bit of him… Which made the clone situation trickier, but she was trying.

She waited patiently for Peter to figure it out. Put his words together, and all that fun stuff… Expecting it might be something a little close to the chest- maybe he'd pry about her past, after all?- only to be…shocked by where he ended up, by the end of it. Brain jumping ship and going blank, as Harley had to suddenly process…being cared about? Right now? A wellness check…from boyfriend???

Hello, outside of the wheelhouse! It's been a minute since she was put back outside and thoroughly stumped over basic kindness.

"I… Uh-?" Peter could practically hear her brain struggling to reboot; eventually just shaking her head a bit to force the damned thing to do something-!! "I'm…tryin' ta handle it?"

Partial honesty felt about right. How long she could hold that, on the other hand? …One could hope.

"It's…a lot. Certainly didn't deal wit' a whole lotta clones back in Gotham," she mused, with an uncertain laugh. "I heard we once had ta deal wit' a machine version a' Batman, but…" A pause. "This is pretty different. An' weird.

"Don't wanna go smackin' ya clone around, even with tha' shit he's pullin'. But he also… Seems ta take my prior abuse as a challenge ta fix my brain right, so-" It brought back a fleeting thought; eyes going wide and sitting up. "Wait, that's right-!! I wanted ta show ya how it worked! Or, I thought a' it, wasn't sure, kinda forgot-"

Shaking her head again, this time to move the thoughts away. More importantly-!!

"Pete. I wantcha ta slap me. Hard enough ta sting, if ya would."

Thankfully Harley responded well enough to the question, in that she actually responded and, after some hesitation, told what he could tell was true. It felt good to just- talk about things, even if they weren't great, and have that be a good discussion to have.

Couldn't exactly blame her for feeling that way about his clone, but the mention of him seeing her abuse as a challenge brought a bit of confusion before she shot up!

Now Peter was back to confused, and concerned. Immediately followed by-

"Wait what?!" Pete couldn't even begin to wrap around what was going on at this point. She just mentioned showing him how something worked and now they were somehow wrangled around to a request he was not expecting at all. "H-hold on, you want me to- Why?"

A whole lot of confusion bouncing around in his brain, and worries that somehow she thought she'd done something bad, and this was going to somehow make things even.. He didn't want things like that to even be considered, but the way she said it, it seemed so.. matter of fact.

"Okay- Say I do agree to this.. What exactly am I supposed to be shown out of this..?" He was super nervous, not that he'd hit Harley too hard, just that he'd be hitting Harley with intent to harm even a little bit.

How she didn't expect him to react this way was…. Well, it's only something Harley could pull off, is the short of it. Blinking at his shocked, concerned reaction before deciding that she just needed to explain more, is all! It would be good for them both! In a way! Peter gets an example of how the rougher parts of her romance with J effected her brain and… Maybe if she's lucky, a bit of bite to their relationship will ease the doubts the clone-Pete's put into her brain…?

Weirder things have happened. Her pain is tied tightly with pleasure, so anything could happen!

"Okay, so-! We talked about Kraven. First time? That's a big ol' my bad in thinkin' I coulda fucked around an' we'd get closah. Lesson learned," Harley said, sitting up into criss-cross. "Howevah… Both he an' ya clone clued in that I just…crumble at some roughhousin'. Too much like home… Like Joker." A heavy sigh on that one. Fuck if that breakup couldn't just…insta-heal, already…!!

"Now, Kravy don't work when I know he's a hyena killah. I might be odd, but I got my standards!! Ya clone, howevah… He seems ta know more. An' is dogged on usin' it against me." Harley straightens up a little, looking way too okay with the conversation that is happening, right now.

"So… Worst comes ta worst, first a' all, seein' fa' yaself how it works!! Consida' it, like…science." Not really how that works, but go off? "Secondly… Who knows! If he ends up scramblin' my brain a lil too hard or gettin' me ta doubt stuff I'd know are true… Whammo!" An acted, soft, but sharp enough for a crisp sound slap; her fingers hitting the opposite palm. "A lil pain does wondahs fa' tha' brain.

"…Mine, at least. Can't speak ta it workin' fa' anyone else…"

The air was old, but it was the feeling of home. Even as she walked through the castle halls, she remembered a time where she danced along them with her lover in hand.

That had been a life time ago, and once more she was in possession of this grand estate. It would be a nice place to hide away from the world once it was fixed back up.

A shrug and a small smile. "Hell if I know." She said. "I've been trying to figure it out myself honestly." Lyla said. "I've seen some weird stuff, but it's a mystery."

Without the added pressure of a classroom full of people locking their eyes on you, settling the whole weight of their expectations on your shoulders, Brandon realized it was easier to concentrate on one thing at a time. Sure, there were many factors added to this particular equation —like the fact that no bustling sounds were bombarding him from every direction or shiny things grabbing his attention— but, truly, he hated how many people were right about one thing in particular: if you set your mind to one task only, concentration won't be a problem. What they weren't right about was how Brandon's mind couldn't focus on one thing at a time for extended periods of time before it inevitably wandered, but he was working really hard now for Walter's sake.

Of course, the man had to go and put his determination to the test by pressing himself closer to Brandon, grabbing him by the wrists and basically kissing his ear. His concentration almost shattered the second he felt contact, but the younger man gritted his teeth and pushed through the distraction with difficulty. He could do this, right? He could focus on something that wasn't the warmth of Walter's skin or the sweetness of his smell. He could allow himself to be guided through the gentle dance the other was putting him through without breaking his concentration, without letting his rampant feelings get in the way, right? He swallowed hard, breathed through his nose, and pushed and pulled with the lull of Walter's movements. He even opened his eyes when instructed to and saw the slithering stream he had created.

"I-- I did that?" the question was rhetorical, of course. He could feel that tell-tale pull on his gut, right behind his belly button, that let him know it was his power controlling the elements. "Look, Walter--!" The younger man turned his head a small fraction of the way, momentarily forgetting how close the other was... and then everything stopped.

Their noses bumped. Brandon gasped and closed his fists. Instead of dropping back onto the stream, the small boa of water he'd manipulated froze mid-air, in time with the skipped beat of his heart. How he managed to do that, Brandon didn't know. As much a prodigy as he was, that had never happened before, but that was for a later analysis. Brandon stood still for a second or two, the tip of his nose still touching Walter's, and then he took a step forward, away from the man's embrace.

"Uh-- sorry. Sorry, I forgot how close you were. I uh--" but he trailed off. What exactly could he say in such a situation? "Thank you for helping me concentrate?" And yes, it was poised as a question because Brandon himself wasn't sure of what he wanted to say.

He remained close to Brandon in order to ensure that his presence would soothe him and help him block away any and all other external factors. He didn’t want for Brandon to feel pressured. They were not in a tight schedule that demanded students to master their abilities in record time. To master their gifts was not something that happened overnight. There were even some adults that had issues with their own powers, no matter how many tries they attempted to master them. That didn’t mean that they were broken - but it meant that there should be no pressure to achieve such a goal. Walter often liked to compare mastering their abilities with the flow of the water. It was a simple analogy really: if it was a small stream, one could direct the path by adjusting the flow. It was easy to make it bend or stop it on its tracks. But when one’s abilities were similar to the raging sea on a storm – there was no containment. There was no chance to push it away or make it cease. One simply had to ride it out. Way for it to pass.

“That’s it.” Walter kept his hands on Brandon’s shoulders, feeling his body relax as he slowly centered himself and became more attuned to his surroundings. Nothing else mattered now – just the sound of the water rushing down, the sensation of how the cold wetness would feel on their skin. “Keep breathing.” His hands slid down Brandon’s shoulders down to his arms, long fingers gently grasping at his student’s wrists as Walter did his best to guide Brandon’s movements. It was like a dance, really. There were no one, two steps but the elegant movements were incorporated. “Don’t lose focus on the water.” His lips brushed gently over the shell of Brandon’s ear as Walter guided both of the other man’s arms up and then down, left and then right. “Don’t resist. You are one with the water you now feel.” Again – up and down, left and right. Walter’s gaze turned to the stream – the water raising from its designated path to slither in the air like a snake enchanted by the musician’s flute. Up and down, left and right. The same pattern over and over again. “Don’t lose focus, Brandon…” Fingers gaze the other man’s wrists a gentle squeeze, reminding him that he was still there. Right behind him. “Open your eyes now – see what you accomplished.”

My VENTURE BROS x MARVEL Cross Over Art !!

So... with Marvel, particularly X-23, on the mind a bit lately and wanting to get back into my SMT V: Vengeance playthrough, I kinda got to thinking of what would her role be in an SMT/Marvel Crossover AU. Taking some inspiration from the time she was Captain Universe, maybe she could be a Nahobino? Or maybe she could be someone like Tao or Yoko? Or maybe the Tao-like or Yoko-like role could go to a different character?

I do know if I write something for an SMT/Marvel Crossover AU, I would like to do something with Thor, both versions, where it's something like Eric Masterson is SMT Thor's Knowledge. Or maybe have it be Kevin Masterson, Eric Masterson's son? I also just had the idea while typing this of maybe writing something with Andi Benton, maybe making the Mania Symbiote like Aogami while Andi is the human who bonded. Maybe I will go with that instead, maybe so that I can try writing something with Andi meeting Nico Minoru and Laura and them going on a journey similar to what the Nahobino and company do in SMTV. Or maybe I could go with a combination of these ideas? Have Andi and Laura in roles similar to Tao and Yoko while whoever I make Thor's Knowledge is the protagonist?

Another idea is having Franklin Richards as the protagonist, with Rachel Summers as the one with a kinda similar role to Tao or Yoko. This idea popped in my head when mulling over the many possibilities for an SMT/Marvel Crossover. Franklin has cosmic power in the comics, the ability to create a miniature universe, while Rachel is one of the hosts of the Phoenix Force. Obviously, for this crossover idea, I will depower Franklin a bit, and I will probably try thinking of a mythological being for him to be the Knowledge of.
