“Hey, uh... were those other kids bullying you?” They really hoped not, but the kid looked a bit upset or maybe frustrated as he walked away from the group of students who had previously been speaking to him. “If they were, you can tell me. M... Maybe I can even help!” Penny had experience with that sort of thing, after all, and maybe this time they could address the problem in a way where things didn’t spiral out of control.
Either way, they just hoped the kid was okay. He didn’t look familiar, nor was he wearing anything that resembled an academy uniform. If he was a student here, he must be new, and the last thing Penny wanted was for anyone to have a rough first day.

“Um... nothing.” They squeaked as they were asked what they were doing, immediately tearing their phone from the air in front of them and shoving it phone into their pocket. (They did their best to ignore the frustrated buzzing of the Rotom that inhabited the device as they did so. “I wasn’t doing anything...” They practically whimpered, completely unconvincingly.
Though they wouldn’t have known the man from anyone else this morning, after hacking into the unusually strong signal emanating from somewhere within the café, they knew exactly who he was now, and it was so not good that he’d noticed them.
Agh, they hadn’t meant to get into a mess like this, really! They were just curious, is all! They hadn’t meant to stumble on an extensive database of some sort of criminal organization! They should have just closed out when they realised what they’d found, but they’d just been so curious.
“I was just... seeing if there was free wifi here...” This was bad this was bad this was so bad.
