“I – excuse you–!” Ophiuchus hadn’t expected the sudden scoop, nor did he appreciate this cloaked figure’s attempt to cart him off. Wriggling free, the Emissary brushed his robes with a huff and then crossed arms to prevent himself from sparking fire into the stranger’s face. “Do you randomly accost strangers in the street in such a manner?” He could handle himself if this was the only one – he dared not think about the potentiality of there being more. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Sensing something was off, and couldn’t help but tense up, Angelic quickly scoops the other into his arms as he lets the other lash out. Hell, he can spark fire at him for all he cares, right now, the present and future mattered. If he knew who the other was better as he did now, he wouldn’t have brought his host here, and yet, here they were. “...You are important to your people, yes?” He replies calmly in a low voice from under the hood. “If something were to happen to you I won’t be able to forgive myself...” No...they other has to stay safe, no matter what. If he himself was to get hurt, or injured, or worse, well, that didn’t matter, his existence was meaningless compared to the other. “You can hit and yell at me all you want if that makes you feel better, just... don’t lash out to wildly that you may accidently hurt yourself...” Eyes look about calmly as he sighs. Now what?

The child showed curiosity right away, with his mismatched eyes exploring the surroundings as if he had never set foot outside his front door. The world was so big and he was so small. He wanted to run and jump, wet his shoes in the stream, say hello to every being he encountered, and laugh as he rolled down the hills. He wanted to do so many things now that he was here, but at the same time he couldn't take his shaking hand off the hem of his mother's robes.

“If we were on a Castrum’s grounds, then I would have gotten one of Lyon’s beast eat the corpse to hide the fact that anyone was killed….or ask either Sartauvoir or Albeleo to use their fire to make sure the body was turned to ash.” Granted a cruel way to deal with a body but it had been enough for him and no one said anything, plus Lyon never complained since he claimed that his carnivores got fresh meat of sorts. But sadly, they weren’t at the Castrum, he was a guest for Ra and had very little authority since he’s suppose to be on his best behavior. Ugh, what a mess right? And there goes his idea of exercising outside since it was actually quite nice today, but perhaps he’ll do it at the stables since Dawon and the rest of the griffins would be there.

As he heard Ra speak up, Menenius then tilted his head as he raised an eyebrow to the other since was that not suppose to be a compliment? Was his own silver tongue or whatever he had not worthy? “As a former intelligence officer turned spymaster, I would say that you would have made the Assassin’s that I used to work with proud since they all had silver tongues as well.” Heading inside as well before taking a glance around the outside to make sure no one else lingered, Menenius then closed the door as he then walked along side Ra.

“So what’s the plan from here? Would you like me, lyon and pagaga to lay low for a bit until you get things settled? Or is there a way that I can help?”

“If you were at Castrum, everyone would be at their throats, blood and bodies on the floor, and we would not be getting anywhere.” Ra replies simply. And he would have to be fighting the other, something he cared not to do if possible.

“I care not to deceive and mislead people if by all means possible. I care not to use nor manipulate people. It...makes me uncomfortable.” The elder replies softly. 

Silent for a moment, the hyur like man perks up. “Oh and the gun if you will. " Ra turns and holds out his hand "Best to keep this little detail out of any future conversations if able, for both our sakes." Be offered help however, he raises a brow. “Actually...” Taking the gun, he nods. “I may have.” Looking up at the building, he nods before looking at Menenius. “You done guard duty before have you not? Even escorts?” This may be the time to set them on the other. After all, if he was to be doing these meetings, he needs more hands on deck. And in return, they could be no safer.

"Mind if I step in?" Ra

With his gun aimed at the others and finger not on the trigger yet, Menenius hissed out but his ears perking up once he heard Ra as he glanced back. "You always arrive in the nick of time? Or do you like the dramatics?" Looking back ahead, Menenius breathed out as he then nodded more as he started backing up slowly to the hyur. "But yes....your assistance would definitely be helpful....."

So... what did he agree on again? Fighting some...ancient or another? Slowly walking about the halls to a large room, purple eyes look around behind the metal helmet that hid his face as he sniffs the air. Something about some guy...Lahabrea...blah blah blah... A lot to take in after being just summoned here...

Holding a large purple crystal sword on his shoulder, Angelic stop as he frowns and looks up. Who ever it was... knew how to hide pretty well... that was...if they knew how to hide that smell of theirs... the cape of his moonward gear gently flaps, as the black and blue of the armor reflects gently in the dim light. Sighing, he closes his eyes for a moment as he senses someone and opens his eyes to see a rather large man appear before him. 

There he was...

Standing still, he lets out another sigh, his body subconsciously starting to breathe again.

His purple eyes land on the bright yellow ones, looking over the pale feature and snow white hair before squinting a bit. Something was indeed off. He was told by Meteor, warned, that something in this place wasn’t natural, everything was going feral and through a change, the smell gave it away, but he can also see a bit of it too... Even about this man...what was his name again?

A rather light and youthful with a slight of tiredness voice speaks up just enough to be heard. “So...do we have to do this? I mean...we can just talk,” moving his eleos off his shoulder, the rather small hyur like figure sets it into the ground a bit by the tip and leans ever so slightly, “and not fight for once...Been a long day for all of us, I’m sure... or week...month perhaps...What do you say? Be adults for once?” From the looks of things...no...

Now that i have a reference of 7 other Final Fantasy games than FFXIV (yes, im going through the series from first game until i finish FFXVI), i have two big takeaways from this IP

XIV is one of thos series that feels like a long running shonen anime/manga at it best - great writing, great power system, great characters, especially villains, tons of content streched over the course of years worth of storytelling, just... everything that i love in battle shonen

I think that after every game ive started since begining this post-14 marathon through the franchise, my first thoughts were "HOLY SHIT, THIS IS EVEN BETTER START THEN THE PREVIOUS GAME! its so... cinematic?!", and, despite not every game being overall better then the previous one, you can feel the writers and devs slowly getting better and more confident in constructing compelling narratives

Final Fantasy is on pace to becoming (one of) my favorite video game series ever, and im so glad i picked up that one Critcally Aclaimed MMORPG 2 years ago :)
