How do we know your not actually in league with Naix and your planning to lead us into their clutches.

“That doesn’t make any sense. Think about it.

First, NAIX operates completely in secret. If you’re not a member, they don’t want you to know aaaaannnyything about what’s going on. The fact that I’ve been talking about them in publicly posted videos is already going against every single thing they stand for. Even if you’re under the wrong impression that I was once a member, you have to agree with me that there’s no way I could still be a member with every single rule that I’ve been breaking. What good is a secret organization that loses all of its secrets?

Second, just think about the risk I’m taking. You saw how the U.S. government reacted when Chelsea Manning leaked 750,000 classified documents, detailing so many things about what the United States military had been doing all over the world. Now, imagine a group even more powerful than the world’s most powerful military, because that’s exactly what NAIX is. They’ve already got agents all over Tokyo, monitoring my every public move, waiting for the perfect time to end my life. They haven’t found out where I live yet, but I’m sure they will, very soon.

I know this all sounds overwhelming, but… please believe me. I’m telling you the truth, as complete of a truth as I possibly can with the information that I have. Since I don’t really have a long time to live, I’ve made exposing them my life mission. I’ve got nothing to lose if they kill me. I’m going to die anyway.”

Favourite Pokemon?

“That’s a good question; there’s just so many adorable Pokemon out there!! Buuut, if I had to pick just one... I think I’d choose Clefairy! And not just because it’s small, pink, and huggable. It’s also got some of my favorite Pokedex entries:

On nights with a full moon, Clefairy gather from all over and dance. It is said that happiness will come to those who see a gathering of Clefairy dancing under a full moon.

I mean, talk about an idyllic performance! If I had a team, I’d have a Clefairy in my number one spot.”

(To Iris) how do you know all of this stuff?

“I dunno. Sometimes it’s Wikipedia, sometimes it’s people’s blog posts, sometimes it’s on TV. A bunch of it came from my own research projects at school. Really, there’s nothing I’m saying that shouldn’t already be known by the general public, but...

NAIX and the Wadjet System, they’re both soooo massively big that they’ve got hands in the pockets of every single news station. That’s why most people haven’t found out about them yet. And if journalists are powerless to do anything, well... it’s my duty, I guess. Like I said, in a just world, this should all be public knowledge. I’m just... making it more public.”

“Well... I do eat my vegetables and try to stay away from too many sweets, but... I should probably sleep more.

I don’t think it’s completely my fault. I don’t have a ton of free time between school and idol stuff, so if I wanted to get online and stream ShovelForge, I kinda have to do it at two or three A.M. And, oh boy, the last time mom caught me up at five in the morning, she really let me have it...”

“Of course I take care of myself! Just so you know, I learned how to do the dishes and sweep the floors and everything else. I’m doing very well on my own, thank you, and I certainly don’t need to go back home.”

How in the living hell do you plan to expose NAIX!?

“The same way anything else gets exposed - through exposure!

I know I’m not the most popular idol of all time, but I’ve still got a lot of fans. If they start telling their friends, and those friends tell their friends, that’s already way more people than NAIX were expecting. I’m trying to get other internet idols in on this, too. If I’m lucky enough, one of those big YouTube drama channels will start talking about it, and there’s really no going back from there! NAIX can wipe me off the map, but they can’t stop the influencers.”

You are actually planning to expose NAIX!? THAT’S IT!!! Your in a lot of trouble young lady! I’m telling your mother about this.

“Hate to burst your bubble, but... she kinda sorta already knows. She was one of the very first people I told. Mom always told me that I could tell her anything, so if it’s something as world-shatteringly huge as NAIX, I had to let her know, you know?

I don’t think she believes me, but... it’s okay. It’s a lot to take in, and I think that, with how busy she is at school, she doesn’t want to add anything else super stressful? So, I don’t need to convince her of anything. I just need to convince everyone else.”

“I.... um... what kind of question is that??”

“Of course, I’d believe them. After all, parallel universes exist, so it’s not completely impossible for be to reborn as a super tall giraffe, or a tiny little corn dog, right? And, now that I think about it.... the giraffe me can probably fend for itself, but the corn dog me? I’d have to have round-the-clock surveillance to prevent people from eating it!”

Look Iris maybe Naix was just a bad dream of yours and you just happened to remember it really well.

“I’m telling you, it’s not a dream, it’s reality! If it was just a dream, how could the agents of NAIX be hacking into my YouTube uploads? How could they be secretly following my every public appearance? They’re out there. Real people, looking as inconspicuous as possible, but in reality gathering data to find the best way to take me out. Ritsuko mentioned some shady characters hanging around the Lemniscate offices, and Ota’s actually seen them with his own eyes…

You have to believe me! The proof is out there! It’s right in front of you!”

“That’s, uh... kinda gross. I don’t even want to entertain this possibility.”

“IT’S NOT A JOKE!!”

This particular accusation seemed to hurt, far more than the last one did, and Iris had to fight back tears as she balled her hands into fists.

“I don’t care what anyone thinks! I don’t care if I’m losing subscribers over this! I don’t care that my own mother doesn’t believe me! The Wadjet System is real, NAIX is real, and I’m either going to prove they exist or I’m going to die trying!”
