Re; Stranger Things After her parents’ divorce in 1983, instead of her mother gaining custody like she initially thought, Harleen’s father was granted full custody of his 16 year old daughter. Harleen, of course, was at the age where she could decide if she wanted to see her mother or not; this would decide whether or not her father remained in Gotham. Well, they’re in Hawkins now, aren’t they? Harleen quickly finds herself trying to navigate Hawkins High as the new girl in school. Hard to do when there’s so much going on, it seems...

Re; CW’s Riverdale With her mother no longer able to afford the usual rent in the Narrows of Gotham, she and Harleen are forced to move. ...Into the south side of Riverdale. After a short stint at Southside High before its closing (featuring an easy time fitting in), she now has to bounce back at Riverdale High. Yikes.

               °﹂♦﹁。   First day in a new high school all taken care of.  Not too bad, for a small town, she guessed, she could make it work.  Plus, there’s plenty more space in a house like this than their previous residence.

Of course, Harleen expected to return home after school to nothing but a note stuck on the fridge. Left some money under the toaster for you to get some dinner. You mind stopping for a new phone while you’re out? The one the prev family left behind isn’t working. Love you kiddo, see you tonight. Dad

Oh, great, the landline’s dead. Wonderful.

Harleen grabbed the money from its hiding spot, shoved it in her pocket, and went out to the nearest recognizable electronics store:  Radio Shack.  Bit of a walk, but nothing she couldn’t handle.

“Phone, phone, new phone...”  is mumbled under her breath as she wanders through the aisles, looking for maybe not the cheapest landline available, but definitely not an expensive one, either.  Oh look, an employee, perfect.

“Hey, hey, ‘scuse me?  Yeah.  I need to get a new phone, can I get, like, a recommendation or something?”

               °﹂♦﹁。   As much as she looked forward to moving towns, Harleen was in no way excited to attend a new school.  So much of her free time was spent settling into her bedroom that she never had the chance to figure out how to settle into her classes.

Guess she’d just have to think on the fly.  Lightly bump into the most approachable - looking student and ask for classroom directions.  Yeah, that’ll do.

Trying to seem as though she wasn’t paying attention ( and hopefully succeeding ), Harleen bumped her shoulder into her potential classmate, thankfully keeping a good enough hold on her notebook.

“Shit―  Sorry, sorry.  ...Uh.  You don’t happen to know where, uh...”  A short pause to pull a folded - up paper from her pocket.  “...Mr. Mundy’s class is?”
