CANON BASED VERSES

A darker variation on the canon timeline. While Josh hadn't planned to kill any of them at the start, he finds himself struggling to remember why that was once they're all back at the scene of the crime. While his rampage is still interrupted before he can fully commit to a massacre (well, victim number is up in the air), Josh isn't exactly looking to help them all survive until dawn, even if it means he dies with them. In this verse, separate from his illness, Josh is his worst self down to his core. The death and nature of his sisters final moments broke him and he no longer sees any reason in trying to be a better person, instead he now sees plenty of reasons to be a worse one. He actively works against the rest of the group on the mountain and continues to terrorize any survivors after, though now in ways that are less traceable back to him. He's cruel, sadistic, manipulative, obsessive, violent and more than willing to kill and maim for his own emotional catharsis.

Joshua was an ambitious indie filmmaker, one day his younger twin sisters go missing and his life falls apart. Josh drops everything to look for them as his mental health spirals into dangerous and delusional places, leading him to attempt suicide. They're gone for months until suddenly one day they're back and find him where he's been institutionalized. Overjoyed he tearfully lets them back into his life. Only the twins are... different... and they want Josh to join them. Unable to bear a life without them again he blindly accepts and is given the Dark GIft. Josh's existence however goes against the laws of vampires, the combination of his mental illness and his heightened nature make him a liability to their community which is bound to cause some problems for the siblings.

The Entity sees potential in Josh after his little "prank" and brings him into its dimension. Joshua is turned into a killer, using traps, tricks, psychological torture and manipulation to feed the Entity the fear it craves. Trapped in his psychosis by supernatural forces Josh is only ever able to gain lucidity long enough to be horrified into losing it again.
