Really enjoying what the anime of Uzumaki is doing with the story structure. They're splicing chapters together to take the completely episodic structure of the early parts, and make it escalate a little faster, so the first episode has Shuichi's dad and the girl with the scar, and introduces Shuichi's mom's spiral phobia and the snail kid.
I think that's a really cool thing to do with the pacing if you know where the story's going and only have 4 episode

I know that logically a lot of the Uzumaki chapters were probably happening all at once, but shoving 4-5 stories into each episode and it being awful when they could have had 1-2 per episode and it would've been longer but actually good is really sad
