Thespian Threads and Ink, exterior
With Hal and Ariel aging up, I realized that Veronaville needed an alternative fashion store. For a while, I’ve been wanting to make a tattoo/piercing shop, so I figured I’d combine those with a Hot Topic/Spencer’s-esque clothing store. When I placed the empty lot down next to the Veronaville mall, the game gave me an interesting slope to work with. I thought it was the perfect place to “hide away” a piercing/tattoo place.
Thespian Threads and Ink, courtyard/graveyard
The shape of the slope gave me an interesting “entry” space to work with. Initially, I wanted to do a water fountain and a standard garden. But then I thought it would be pretty cool to put down a graveyard, considering the goth/alternative vibe of the store. I’m not entirely sure whom the graves would belong to; but I like to imagine that a Romeo/Juliette situation had happened in the forgotten past, and now history is repeating itself. So I used the flowers that looked most like they were overgrown and neglected. I also used red lighting to add emphasis that the blood of the young lovers was on the hands of the opposing families.

Thespian Threads and Ink, tattoo parlor
Thespian Threads and Ink, hair salon
The first floor isn’t that interesting. Both shops have a simple lobby and a back room with the ug-no-more station.
Thespian Threads and Ink, second floor
Thespian Threads and Ink, piercing studio
Thespian Threads and Ink, adult magazine room and bar
The tattoo studio is pretty self-explanatory. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the balcony, though. Originally, it was supposed to be a roof, but it just wasn’t working for some reason (possibly because of the stairs I used between the first and second floors). Initially, I was going to put down a hot tub, but I was worried about possible routing issues. Then it turned into a bar. As for the connecting room, I was originally going to make it a “clearance” section to the clothing store. But it seemed a little outlandish that a clothing store would put their wares on an unsupervised floor. So instead, I turned it into an “adult” room, where the alcohol and porn mags are stored. The alcohol kind of has the same issue that the clearance section would’ve had, but oh well. I figure the bartender is going to be going in and out of that room frequently.

Thespian Threads and Ink, clothing store
This floor is pretty straight-forward. It has clothing racks, dressing rooms, and a little nook with an old picture I had of Bonehilda brushing her teeth. There’s three dressing rooms, but they’re nearly identical, so I only took a picture of the first one.

95 Bard Boulevard, exterior
Soooo usually I play half-rotational, half-legacy. But I decided fuck it, I’ll do full rotational this time. Which is kind of intimidating, considering I’m playing an uberhood, but...
I also decided to change my reshade settings based on neighbhorhoods. For Veronaville, I decided to go with the bright&early setting warm gooey pancakes (it’s listed warm gooey waffles in the post, but it’s warm gooey pancakes in the reshade panel).
There are many families I’ve never played because I just wasn’t that interested in them. I haven’t played much with any of the Veronaville families, but I do have some familiarity with Romeo and Juliette’s households. I played them once or twice as a kid. In my Fox-Landgraab save, I got familiar with Juliette/Consort’s household because Tank Grunt’s son was dating Hermia. But I’ve never played with the rest of the Capp/Monty families, the Summerdream household, etc.
All that to say that I’m playing with Goneril/Albany’s family for the first time this playthrough. And I thought it was weird that Goneril is the eldest daughter of Consort Capp, is a middle-aged fortune sim, but she’s unemployed and has nothing but the starter §20,000. Her LTW is to be a business tycoon, so I used the sim blender to get her a job in the business career and cheat her up to lvl 8. She’s unqualified, but my headcanon is that Consort pulled a few strings for her. After that, I hit the family with a few motherlodes and moved them into one of the “rich” houses in Veronaville, 95 Bard Boulevard. But it was still a little small for how many kids they have. And the yard was...lacking. So I expanded the house and redid the yard.
95 Bard Boulevard, backyard
I left the maze kind of bare because I don’t exactly know what I want to do with it yet. And it was also 2 a.m. and I had work the next day. In a few generations, I’ll probably expand the graveyard to suit the family, and I imagine the rest of the maze will conform to whatever’s happening with the graveyard.
95 Bard Boulevard, first floor
The red was less overwhelming before I changed my reshade settings, wow. I might change the color of the floors so it’s less painful to look at.
95 Bard Boulevard, second floor
Again, so much red. Not sure why the lighting in Goneril and Albany’s room is so dark/dramatic, but oh well. I’ve also got something weird going on with Ariel’s favorite color. ig I rolled pink, then mixed her up with Desdemona in my spreadsheet and recolored all her stuff blue. Now I have to recolor it all back to pink. I’ll probably keep all her stuff blue and pretend it was stuff they kept after Desdemona.

It looks like Juliette still has arm warmers, and she’s still friends with Jules. So crisis averted ig?

Antony Hall, exterior
Now that I’ve sent Tybalt off to uni, it’s time to build a dorm for the Capps. Again, I used google images for inspiration, and this time the overall design was loosely based off the lot on this page. Antony Hall is, of course, across the street from Bassanio Tower.
Antony Hall, first floor
The Capps strike me as conservative, so I decide to split the dorms into a female wing and a male wing. The common rooms are gendered, but the cafeteria is shared. I kept the decorating and the dorms sparse because I didn’t want to spend forever in build mode. I even forgot to add lighting oops
Antony Hall, second floor
There isn’t much to say about this floor. There’s a mixed study area, then the wings are again split by gender. Unlike Bassanio Tower, the Antony Hall towers don’t go up past the second floor. I couldn’t come up with a way to make the towers play nice with the roof, and I couldn’t find tutorials (or anything helpful) on Google. So unfortunately, the towers are just decoration :( It works out, though, since there’s no way I could fit anymore staircases in there anyway lol

Bassanio Tower exterior
Now that Mercutio’s gone to university, I needed to make an Academie Le Tour dorm that fit the aesthetic of Veronaville. So I pulled up some Veronaville images on Google and loosely based the layout of my dorm off this post that someone shared on r/sims2. My idea for this lot (and the unbuilt lot across the street) are legacy dorms built during the lifetimes of Bassanio Monty and Antony Capp. But I’m not the biggest fan of building, so I’m going to wait a while before building Antony Tower.
Bassanio Tower, first floor
The first floor has a cafeteria, a courtyard, showers, and dorms. Each dorm has 1 bed and nothing else. I decided to go easy on them to (hopefully) help with my game’s pink soup issues.
Bassanio Tower, second floor
The second floor has a common room, bathroom, and more dorm rooms. The tower format is difficult to work with in terms of floor space, so the only skill items I could fit were the punching bag and chess table. I wanted to add more recreation items (like a dart board), but this was all I could really fit.
Bassanio Tower, third floor
The third floor is where I placed the computers, bookshelves, and landline phone. I placed some easels along the back wall, so that my sims might be enticed to autonomously raise the creativity skill. Unfortunately, I couldn’t fit empty desks, so I’m hoping the cafeteria tables will be enough space for the dormies to do their assignments.

Capp Karaoke Connect, exterior
I needed a “teen” lot for Juliette, Hermia, Romeo, and Puck to hang out at. So I made this cafe/karaoke/arcade lot. I used a lot of colored lighting, so I took a few of the pictures in night mode.
Capp Karaoke Connect, first floor
So my main goal with the first floor was to give it a little bit of a cramped feeling, like the cafe portion had been renovated and was being rented out. I like the idea of the first floor being all-ages, but teens being the only ones allowed in the stairwell. But since that’s not really doable, I’m gonna have to restrict the whole lot to teens only and just pretend that adults are passing up this lot for others, like the Veronaville remodel of Oresha.
Capp Karaoke Connect, second floor
This floor has 3 private rooms, a rec room, and a game room. I wanted to have a variety of family-friendly teen activities, unlike certain abandoned lots I’ve made for my Pleasantview sims.
Capp Karaoke Connect, floor 3
This floor has 3 more private rooms, a poker table, a photo booth (😏), a snack area, and 2 more dart boards.
#ts2#uv#uv veronaville#I kind of wish one of the dartboard swatches was Shakespeare#It didn't really seem fitting to use Don/Dina#But it's still weird to use Will Wright on all 3 lol#sims 2 lots#community lots
