Few scenes make me more emotional than the one on episode 7 when, after the adjournment (and with Townes there), the boys call Beth and work together to help her win that match.
#everything about that scene screams perfection#how they come together to help her and how they're just... there for her#these are the chess players in her life those she couldn't find in school or at the orphanage#(apart from Mr. Shaibel I mean)#the ones who in one way or another can understand what chess really is for her#Harry who meant her first official championship win#Benny her rival and then something else#the twins who learned to respect her and were with her during Mexico#and Benny's friends who helped her train as well with that speed chess game at Benny's place#and then Townes of course#uuuuuugh they all played a part in her chess journey and seeing them together working to help her so she could FINALLY defeat Borgov#and win everything#and then how they celebrate how Harry screams in happiness and Benny simply smiles#I cry every single time#baby girl who was abandoned by her mom even before she left her on that bridge#who was used to be alone who didn't have any family#then she got Jolene who gave her the money to go to Russia and then the boys who helped her with the chess#but it's more than that it's just... knowing they're there for her#even when she drove them away before because she was not in the right place or because she couldn't give them what they wanted/needed#this is her found family and I love that for her#this show makes me feel things#it does things to me#random#personal#my shitty English#The Queen's Gambit#TQG
