24 sick Black hat?
“You’re trembling.”
Flug stared at Blackhat, who was currently sitting across from the doctor at his desk. “What are you talking about?” Blackhat asked as he examined himself quickly. The eldritch’s hands were shaking, and when he tried to stop them, the trembling extending up into his arms.
“Sir? Are you all right?” Flug questioned, his voice tight with concern. “You don’t look or sound too good.” Now, Flug was checking the rest of the villain for signs of problems and took note of several changes. For one, his skin was definitely a few shades lighter; flush compared to his normal parlor. Two, his voice was rougher; not that normal voice wasn’t, but now it sounded strained. “Sir? Are you… are you sick?”
“I don’t get sick!” Blackhat snapped. Then he cleared his throat and rubbed awkwardly at his upper chest as if trying to ease a pain. “I’m fine.”
“Blackhat, I think you are sick! You need to lay down!” Flug exclaimed
“I don’t need to-” Blackhat was interrupted by a hacking cough that he tried to stifle unsuccessfully.
“Sir… how long has this been going on?” The eldritch sighed and leaned back in his chair.
“Just a few days of things here and there, Flug. It’s not that big a deal. Today has been worse than the others, but I’m FINE, Flug.” Flug stood and put his hands on his hips.
“Sir, you are sick, and you are going to go lay down, right now.” Flug commanded. Blackhat sat, mouth open in shock at the authority that Flug was using. Then he shut his jaws with a clack of teeth, and nodded meekly. “Good, I’m going to go get something for you, and I expect you to be in your room and under the covers when I get back.”
Once the doctor had disappeared through the doorway, Blackhat attempted to stand. When he had said he was fine, he had known he had been lying to a point worse that what Flug probably suspected. Once on his feet, a wave of dizziness washed over Blackhat, and he had to grab the edge of his desk to keep from falling over. That morning he had barely been able to drag himself to his office and appear presentable before Flug had arrived, and now he felt even weaker.
“One foot in front of the other,” Blackhat mumbled to himself as he stumbled towards the exit. Heat clouded his mind, and the trembling became full body spasms. He was so, so cold, yet his head was burning. “I can make it to my room, come on.” He collapsed just outside his bedroom’s door, and curled into a ball, trying to conserve his body warmth.
“Blackhat!” Flug nearly dropped the tray he was carrying when he turned the corner to find the man on the floor. “Oh shit, your even worse off then I thought you were!” Flug ran the tray into the room and set it down on the bedside table, then rushed back out to help the eldritch.
Slipping an arm around Blackhat’s shoulder, the scientist attempted to help the man to his feet, despite his protests.
“It’s too cold, Flug…” he whimpered.
“Sir, if you help me walk you to your bed, you’ll be nice and warm again, I promise.”
“Promise…. Warmth….” Flug got Blackhat to his feet, and then he half-carried half dragged him over to his bed. The doctor pulled back the blankets before depositing Blackhat on the bed, and then moved to pull them back up over him.
A cold hand against his arm cause him to pause.
“You’re warm,” Blackhat mumbled. “Please?” Flug was about to ask what he meant when he found himself being yanked down beside the eldritch, and arms and legs being thrown around him like traps.
“S-s-sir!” Flug stuttered out. Then he felt Blackhat nuzzling into his chest and pulling him in even closer.
“Warm…I love you soooo much, Flug” Flug turned bright red underneath his bag, trying to escape the eldritch grasp, but he soon realized that there was going to be no escape from the death grip Blackhat had him in. So, extremely flustered, he reached down and tugged the blankets up over the two of them, and relented to be held while Blackhat drifted off to sleep.
“Guess the tea can wait…” he muttered softly. “I love you, too.”
When Blackhat woke up he was surprised to find himself having a mental breakdown over where the hell Flug had gone to. He’d been in his arms just a minutes ago and-
“Wait, what?” Blackhat voiced to an empty room. “Did I? Holy shit I did!” Blackhat broke into a violent coughing fit as a wave of embarrassment stole over him. “I can’t believe I *cough* uuuuuggggghhhh, I can never face him-” Just then, Flug chose to walk in.
“Ah! You’re awake sir!” he exclaimed. Then he made his way over, and set the tray he was carrying on the nightstand. “I made some soup hoping you’d be awake soon enough to eat if before it got cold.”
“Flug, I don’t need-” Blackhat started.
“Yes you do, and I will spoon feed you if you can’t feed yourself.” Blackhat’s flushed complexion gained a ruddy color in the cheeks.
“I can feed myself.”
“Good.”
Once Blackhat had finished off the soup, he was feeling pretty put together and decided to try and get up. As soon as he threw the covers aside though, it was like a bucket of ice water had been poured on him and his body seized up again. Even as he threw the blankets back over himself, his body continued to shiver violently.
“Here, s-sir, I got you,” Flug claimed, and then slide in under the blankets to wrap his arms around the sick man.
“F-flug, why are you-”
“No, I don’t want to hear you complaints.” Blackhat grew quiet, and then found himself snuggling into the warmth that his scientist was generating in waves. When he tried to sneak his hand up the back of Flug’s shirt for more heat that got a yowl of “HOLY SHIT YOU’RE FREEZING COLD!” which in turn, made Blackhat laugh.
“SIR, I LOVE YOU CAN CARE ABOUT YOU BUT PLEASE DON’T DO THIS TO ME!!” Blackhat retracted his hand while coughing between intervals of laughter, and put it back in place on the outside of the shirt. “Thhhaaaank you, Blackhat sir.”
As Blackhat settled down from his fit, he grew sleepy again, and mumbled out,
“Did you mean that, Flug?”
“Mean what, Blackhat?”
“What you said… that you love me?” Flug smiled.
“Yeah, I did as long as you meant it.” Blackhat pressed his face into Flug’s chest
“Must’ve if I said it.”
“Get some sleep now.”
When Flug got sick the next week, it was all to obvious who to blame. Luckily, Flug had his new boyfriend to help him through…
