Would love to know a classic Kane fan's thoughts on Glenn as """Diesel""" and the attempt to turn JR into a heel. I know the gimmick was pretty widely panned and got thrown out relatively quickly but I was wondering if you had any specific attachment to it nonetheless.

Oooo yes ! I have a lot of thoughts about Fake Diesel and I’ve been meaning to make some posts about him but I just haven’t yet !

So in general in a story line way, I think it was a pretty good attempt to make JR into a heel but I think it backfired in a way they didn’t anticipate. I think it made the fans more angry in that the company tried to recreate the classic images that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash had brought to life. I feel like the frustration sort of turned into disrespect because honestly …. Yeah I would be mad as well!

I thought it was interesting how the rest of the story line was brought to the USWA and other areas as a way of being hush hush but still getting air time, because no one wanted to watch fakers… I think they did pretty well to execute it though with the smack talking etc. it could have been way worse !

However , as for my personal views I know it’s not GJ’s fault and he just wanted to keep his wrestling career with the WWF post Isaac Yankem, which I understand.

In terms of looks, I thought he really rocked Diesels look, but it just feels fundamentally wrong to look at him in that outfit 😭 (I feel like his muscles are bigger than Nash’s in that fit so oops)

I think I said something earlier about how in the Kane documentary that his wife was ogling over him in that fit during that time so hahaha I get it girl !🤭

oh yeah, last night, i started watching an ecw vs uswa compilation i got from the internet archive, and there's this one jerry lawler promo near the start, where he's introducing the uswa audience to ecw as a concept, and he says "well, we've got a little music video the ecw guys made using a song by a band named nirvana. in case you don't know, the singer of this band went and blew his own brains out, so that's the kind of positive message that those idiots in ecw want to associate with and send out to the kids"

and this was in his home promotion where he was meant to be a face! what a cunt
