entirely self indulgent au where failboat characters live on terra - part 2
hey there. I’m back, this time with the S1 Neksdor Miis. Maybe I should draw these characters..
Deko in this universe is just a regular old Sarkaz, who got Oripathy in an accident trying to learn the ancient Originium Art, One for All. Instead, he messed it up and the Arts Unit he was using exploded, releasing Originium everywhere, including into him. He became depressed and apathetic towards the world after the fact (I would too if that happened to me. Sarkaz can live a really long time if they don’t get Oripathy, but that longevity gets taken away when they get infected, in exchange for all the nasty effects of rock cancer) and now wanders without any goal or purpose.
Chi in this universe is a funny little Cautus (rabbit person) Caster (mage class) who has a bit of an obsession with fire Arts and has a strangely large chin. Why is this child wandering around the wastelands of Terra? No idea. But she’s part of Failboat’s group now, and at least has more than 50 different ways to set an enemy on fire.
Lanc in this world is yet another kid who is traveling across Terra that decided to join Failboat’s team. I don’t know why he’s out here, but he’s a reliable scientist. Maybe he’d be a Zalak (rodent person) or a Vulpo (fox person). I dunno, there’s not a lot to pull from with this guy.

Hexer Supporters (who are just traditional debuffers) are the closest comparison I can think of to Imps. They also provide status effects with a little bit of magic damage on the side. So that’s what Deko is going to be. With Deko, I was thinking his 1st skill could be a quickly chargeable blast that binds a certain amount of enemies in range and disables their abilities for a brief time. His skill 2 would be based off of the Sweet Whispers skill in Miitopia, and he’ll target one or two enemies (prioritizing elites and bosses) and inflict the targets with the Fear effect, which makes the enemies unblockable but also makes them run around randomly and not attack. Basically his kit is designed entirely for delaying and disabling.
Chi would be a Primal Caster (mage class that deals extra damage when enemies have specific status effects) focused on Burn. The problem is, we already have a Burn Primal Caster… uhh.. fuck. Okay, for Chi, she’ll focus on smaller groups of targets, with her skill 1 as a burst fired at an enemy that inflicts a bunch of Arts damage and a hefty chunk of Burn damage, and her skill 2 would be like the Fireball spell in DnD, being an Arts projectile that explodes upon hitting its target and deals a lot of Arts and Burn damage in a wide AoE, but has a long charge up time. Hopefully she doesn’t overshadow Warmy too much.
Lanc would be an Alchemist Specialist, which is a subclass that is actually pretty similar to the Scientist job in Miitopia. His skill 1 would allow him to throw an Alchemical Unit that makes an ally’s attacks have a small AoE, and his skill 2 would be an Alchemical Unit that acts like a poison cloud, dealing Arts damage over time.
