I know everyone is obsessed with girl!dad's and men that would do absolutely anything for their little girls because we're used to seeing those shameful reactions at gender reveal parties

But I want yall to think about boy!dad's for a minute tho.

And no, not the boy dad's that immediately throw their sons into sports and live life vicariously through them, I don't mean the boy dad's that compete with their sons at a certain age either.

What I mean are boy!dad's that aren't afraid to be affectionate with their sons, peppering their baby boy's chubby cheeks with kisses when they're little, making sure they receive affection from both their mom AND their dad. Who quietly shushes them and holds them close when they cry, letting them know it's alright to cry and that they can always talk to dad when they have a problem, so they'll know when they're older. Who spoils them just as much as their girls because they can't help when their little son looks up at them with those big eyes and adamantly speaks to them with those mispronounced words, so he ends up buying him the bear he's asking for. Who teaches him how to be a gentlemen and an upstanding person while SIMULTANEOUSLY teaching him how to respect himself and how not to be taken advantage of by someone who's not worth it. Boy!dad's that would do anything for their precious baby.

I'm just a sucker for affectionate father and son relationships, and thinking of the time someone in my comments kind of fought me over a character being a girl!dad like men can't have and love their boys too

(Specifically thinking of the cod! And op! Men rn, especially Simon and Sanji)
