Highlight a FFXIV blog with an OC who is particularly loveable or endearing.
Tumblr media
I stared at this one among the other asks for a bit, already knowing who I was going to choose:
@idalenn with their character, Lillian Kyo. I've been reading Lillian's journey through Ao3, and I'm always looking forward to that update.
Lillian is already a great character, though I really gotta recommend also giving idalenn's writing a read as well. Their use of words is so artful and vivid, giving great imagery to really make a setting feel that much more alive -- and it also really aids in noting the characters' habits and personalities.
The 'show, don't tell' in the writing is wonderful, and I can imagine people falling more in love with Lillian simply through these wonderfully woven words that I'm gonna just link right here for others to have a look at.

Aaaa, hello!!! Thank you so much for the ask! \ o w o / ♥ ✨
EMOJI PROMPTS
Tumblr media
Heheee... I love Nomin and Estinien being soft with one another after everything they've been through. Both personally on their own, and with one another. It gives me life.
Let's see...
Whenever Estinien is home on the island from Thavnair, one of the first things he tends to ask Nomin after their reunion is if she needs help with her scales after learning that she has A Time™ taking care of some of those hard to reach ones. It took Nomin some time to warm up to the idea of having him help because she just became embarrassed about engaging in scale-care after she came to Eorzea and overheard some people talking about how strange and kind of gross it was.
It was a little overwhelming at first, having to follow some instructions on how Nomin applies some of her salves and creams to keep her scales and skin around them healthy.
I like to imagine that Estinien hates seeing her discomforted, especially from things out of her control. He never really understood it in ARR - ShB days when he saw her scratching at herself or excusing herself for long periods of time, but he understands better now that they're more receptive to each other.

Describe how they communicate
and
23. Did you tailor your OC for the other in the romance?
Hiiii, thank you so much for the ask! ; w ; Sorry it took so long for me to answer it. TT u TT / ♥
ROMANCE ASKS
Tumblr media
Nomin and Estinien have a lot of non-verbal ways of communication, both being people that tend to do via actions versus speaking. I like to imagine that from HW all the way to EW, Estinien took notice of Nomin's tail movements and started correlating them to certain emotional responses when he's not looking at her face directly.
So whenever Estinien sees the telltale tail signs ( :) ), he can use them to approach Nomin and comfort her. Whether they're the annoyed and quick flicks to the left, the stiffened tail with stiff movements when she's angry or scared, or the confused / uncertain / apprehensive slow curls, he can typically discern her emotions and approach her to place a gentle hand on her shoulder, or hug her if she's amicable.
Otherwise, when speaking, both Estinien and Nomin are pretty blunt people who can comfortably share brutal honesty with one another without offense being taken. Despite their bluntness, they're also playful with one another, being able to tease one another and roast one another while finding amusement in themselves.
Since Nomin also knows that Estinien would rather backflip into the Rhotano Sea than be encumbered by reading most forms of writing, she makes sure he has a linkpearl on hand if he wants to keep in touch when he's off doing work in Thavnair at Vrtra's request because she does like hearing his voice (though this may be set to be rethought out pending how Dawntrail plays out and if we learn more about what Estinien gets up to outside of Radz-at-Han once we're in Tural).
Tumblr media
As for tailoring my OC for the romance: absolutely not.
Putting the rest of the answer under a cut, because this actually got longer than I anticipated. But the sentence above is a perfect tl;dr.
I've made it no secret that I started off really despising Estinien, and I was annoyed with him throughout the DRG quests, and all of HW. I often was like, "man, if this dude dies, fucking good riddance. Fuck that guy." Even as he was laying in the sickbed and waxing poetic about his self-reflection, I was just, "GOD, CAN MY CHARACTER JUST WALK AWAY..."
Nomin wasn't tailored for Estinien in any fashion. When I made her, I made her because I wanted to have a dedicated Warrior of Light character that I wanted to go through content again with and make a story for. When I learned more about the Xaela and their tribes, and customs, I grew to love them -- especially because I LOVE seeing representation of people you don't normally see in media and video games. I'm happy for all the Mongolians that are so, so happy to see their people represented. If Square Enix makes a fantasy land with people that are representative of the Filipino people, I will genuinely LOVE that and make another dedicated WoL who represents half of my cultural roots.
When Endwalker started and we got to fucking customs, his reaction to being asked what his current occupation was...that was the "FUCK!" moment for me. Because I LOVE when powerful men show dumbass himbo mcbuffoonisms to the audience -- that makes them 10000% more endearing to me. (No, his admission of 'swinging a lance with nary a thought in my head' quote wasn't enough at the time because he still never really outwardly showed that kind of silliness in a way that was visible to me.)

12. What was the worst advice your OC has ever received on the subject of love and relationships?
Heya! o w o / Sorry it took so long to get around to this. Thank you for the ask, though! Much appreciated! I hope that you've been doing well. I noticed you were posting more on tumblr recently, similar to me. So I hope that life's been treating you kindly.
Annual Amorous Asks
Tumblr media
I never actually gave too much consideration to Nomin asking for or receiving tips / advice in the world of love, not going to lie. I mean, maybe I should consider it more, thinking more about what general bullet points and even fleshed out bits of her lore that I have.
I guess if she got unsolicited advice... I guess maybe it would come from one member of the Bayaqud? Like if I ever decided to have Nomin meet my Bayaqud character, Nergui, I can imagine Nergui would give absolute dogshit advice. I was going to clarify that it would just be for Nomin, but I actually think a lot of people would find it dogshit advice. lmao
Tumblr media
I had to go digging for it in my FC's Discord, but here are Skoengeim and Nergui.
Nergui's advice would basically be, "if you like what you see, then put yourself out there and take what you want. That's how I have so many husbands and wives after all."
And, like, Nomin just...isn't really into that approach, to be honest. She's not a super romantically-inclined person, nor is she sexually devious. She also doesn't like the idea of HER being in a polycule because she knows that she has trust and jealousy issues that stem from believing she's not pretty. That people wouldn't love someone that is visibly unloved by the Gods as she is.
So, yeah, all around, Nergui's advice would be considered absolute dross to Nomin.

How does your oc respond when they are feeling joyful or celebratory? Are they inclined to whoop and cheer? Or are they more understated and subdued?
Helloooo! Thank you so much for the ask! \ o w o / It's a day late for it, but it's still the new year, so I hope that your New Year's was enjoyable and kind, and that the rest of 2024 meets you with grace and kindness! ♥
Sweets and Puddings OC Questions
Tumblr media
Younger Nomin is defintiely more inclined to whoop and cheer for hers or others' successes, or for things going accordingly. She was much more excitable and eager back then.
Tumblr media
These days, she's definitely more subdued. Something would have to really excite her for her to fall into cheers and whooping. Otherwise, she's more expressive with her tail. I think a number of people will actually be able to tell when she's genuinely happy or joyful, because her tail flicks upward. :3
Tumblr media
(And of course, there are little gestures with a special someone that can make her a little more expressive. |D)

Winter Greenery OC Questions
Tumblr media
I am inclined to say it depends on who Nomin is with. Like, I would say if she's around people who she doesn't trust, she watches them pretty actively, and people may even admit that it just makes them so uncomfortable to have her glaring at them so.
I think with some of her friends from the Steppe, some people would have admitted that it was uncomfortable to be around her if this was around the time she and some of her Sagahl friends were subjugated by the Jhungid. Just because she's definitely very angry and irritable most of the time that bled into how she interacted with those around her.
Traveling in Eorzea, though, I think the Scions probably find her restless and as inquisitive as some of them are. She was looking and pressing for more answers about understanding her Echo when it was revealed that the Scions of the Seventh Dawn was inclined to seek the aid of people like Nomin herself, so I think that made her have more excitable and restless energy that others could pick up on.
Heavensward, and then Stormblood especially, I fully believe Nomin was much more fractious. I mean, on top of the Bloody Banquet, and then having to deal with how she feels like it's kind of an unfair slight against her and Alphinaud to help Ishgard when they need it versus being denied help when they asked was kind of like, "okay, thanks Aymeric. I'll remember this, actually."
I want to say that after some events in Shadowbringers and coming back to the Source allowed her some time to breathe and even allowed others to enjoy being in her company more. Especially since it was good downtime from everything for a little bit as G'raha got reacquainted with his body, and Nomin had some time for herself. So probably in this time, it was more calming to be around Nomin, because she would paint a lot -- just images and things she remembered being on the First that really made an impression (and could be shown to others to show them what it was like!).

22. How would they solve the one bed and two people scenario? Could they share a bed?
Hello! Thank you so much for the ask! \ o w o / ♥♥ I appreciate it! :D
Warm and Cozy OC Asks
Honestly...Nomin's not really one to share her bed. If someone won't flex on not having / having the bed, then she'll take the floor. Specifically right next to the fireplace and bundled up in some wool blankets if it's cold. She just tends to like the comfort of herself, having the freedom to roll and toss and turn in her own bed -- and this is largely because of her other appendages that, y'know, only other auri people tend to have.
To be quite honest, Nomin's very nervous about sharing a bed with Estinien for the first few times that sharing a bed normally is something they want to explore. Though after some time and seeing that neither of them really toss or turn in their sleep, as well as Estinien's trust in her allowed them to sleep pretty comfortably together. If they feel like spooning, Nomin either has a special pillow to put under her neck, or Estinien uses one of his arms (temporarily up to the point of needing to shift / readjust) to cradle her neck so that her horn doesn't lay on the mattress uncomfortably.
But yeah, overall, Nomin and sharing a bed is kind of a no-no in her mind, because she doesn't want to accidentally, like, bruise or poke someone in her sleep. Much less potentially stab. Otherwise, tentative 'yes' to being able to share a bed in general, though it's very specific.

21. Which seven deadly sin would you associate with your OC/WoL?
or
42. What is happiness to your OC/WoL?
Hello! Thank you so much for the ask! I was actually thinking about the seven deadly sins recently, so this is rather timely! Thank you! :D ♥
WoL Questions
Were we talking about mid-teens Nomin, Wrath for sure. All the stuff she endured among the Jhungid, allowing that wrath to build and build as she bided her time to revolt? Yeah, definitely wrath for teen Nomin.
Afterwards, though, when she struggles more with where she belongs, where to go, and these feelings of acceptance or non-acceptance, we'd be looking at Envy. She envies those that has places among people, envies those who are considered 'loved by Nhaama' -- or just have what equates to conventional beauty.
I'll answer the second question as well, because why not!
Happiness for Nomin are moments of peace. Moments she has where she doesn't have to worry about anything. The Island Sanctuary offers that for her, and the events largely after Endwalker (not the patch content for obvious reasons) is that. She's happy that...after years (six is what I decided on from ARR to the end of EW, roughly, but that may change as I keep writing her story!) she can finally rest a bit.
Happiness at a later point is having that idyllic life on her Island Sanctuary with Estinien, their children, and living off the land. It appeases her Xaelic upbringing and that part of her that is still Azem.

[STRENGTH] - What are they determined to accomplish the most?
Thank you so much for this ask as well! ; w ; ♥
The Major Arcana [Ask Game]
The thing that Nomin is determined to accomplish the most is seeing the world flourish.
Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and specifically Eden raid spoilers under cut.
There's always this scenario in the back of my mind that I would love to touch upon at some point. The Burn is something that I've always thought about, more now that the Eden raid story is a thing and it shows Thancred, Urianger, Ryne, Gaia, and the WoL working on restoring the Empty. I think that is such a prominent thing in Nomin's mind as having helped with, and her thinking about how she could take the knowledge from that and apply it to the Burn since it's void of aether.
I'd like for the devs to come back to the Burn at some point and have a restoration similar to what the Eden raids did for the Empty. We know that with the right application of aether -- granted, strong aether -- it could theoretically be restored.
So...pending on what the devs decide, I leave it alone for now. Though it is one of those things I have in mind for Nomin to want to pursue -- because the Burn is part of her homeland! She wants to see it restored! I'd like for it to be a goal where she works on helping restore aether to the land.
In my mind, now that tribes are starting to rebuild bridges with the Eorzean Alliance, and they see that they can be freed from tempering, I'd like to think that with a combined effort of calling upon their deities -- the Primals -- for good, that they might be able to bring the Burn back to its verdant beauty filled with life. ; w ;

🎁: If they needed to give a friend a gift, how would they go about choosing one? Would they buy it, make it, or something else? Would others consider them good at gift giving?
Aaa, thank you for the ask! :D !! ♥
RPG Character Development Questions!
Nomin's actually quite happy with how she tends to pick or make gifts, especially for those closest to her!
If you're a good friend of hers, she will tend to go out of her way to paint something for you. Nomin is a landscape painter (and not really confident painting people or animals too much!). She'll listen in on what places they really liked if it's ever mentioned, or she'll even ask questions about their homeland, or what places they tend to enjoy as part of casual conversation.
She then goes out of her way to see if she can ever make it to that locale and paint it with them in mind. When there's a special occasion -- like a holiday or nameday -- she'll gift that person that hide or canvas that has been painted on! Since she places fond sentimental value in stuff that lets her remember the beauty of the Azim Steppe, she hopes that these paintings can elicit the same response from the recipients.
When it comes to people she's less close with, though, Nomin will still tend to listen and pick out things that she remembers them liking. Maybe it's something as simple as a tin of a particular rooibos tea blend, a certain apiary's brand of honey or beeswax goods, or even a box of confections from a particular stall or make. Things like that.
I think some people consider Nomin good at gift-giving if they know it's her. She's pretty humble about it because she's actually really shy about giving gifts in the first place. Her method of doing so isn't always face-to-face. More times than not, she'll prefer leaving it somewhere where someone can find it with a name tag attached so they know it's for them. She gets a little flustered when it comes to people thanking her personally. She doesn't want to make a big show of her gift giving most of the time, so just a little present on a table or something.

What makes your OC feel most welcome when visiting somewhere for the first time? Do they have specific cultural beliefs about how guests should be treated? Have they ever travelled somewhere with different social practices? How did they respond to this?
Hihi, and thank you so much for the ask! • w • ) /♥
Autumn Symbolism OC Questions
Honestly, letting Nomin just kind of explore and observe for herself is a great way for her to feel welcome while with other people. She doesn't necessarily like being held by the hand at first. She likes exploration, she likes watching things, and she generally keeps her hands to herself unless she's at a market (and even then, she's actually very gentle with goods and wares, knowing the value of things that are there to be traded and sold).
Since she never really ingrained herself too deeply in any one tribe's daily culture versus their defining cultures, she has no real preference on how she should be treated as a guest. She does appreciate the hospitality by anyone that offers it, though (Mother Miounne, Haurchefant, Lord Edmont, Crystal Exarch, Chai-Nuzz & Dulia-Chai...as examples).
I think the one thing from the Steppe that Nomin really takes into account when visiting others is that she's always interested in what drink they are to offer her to welcome her to their home / shelter / sanctuary / etc. It's considered rude to not at least take a sip of drink offered to her, and this has led to finding more drinks to appreciate (especially the myriad of teas she has been introduced to since leaving the Steppe!).
As for places with different social practices, the first place that comes to mind is Ishgard. I mean, technically, it's any place outside of the Steppe. But Ishgard is definitely one of those places where it was actually very hard to learn the social etiquette and compose herself to speak freely with anyone outside of Haurchefant and Lord Edmont. Things are very hard when many people look at you as not even just an outsider, but a monster because of what the Ishgardians believe about Dravanians and heretics that would align themselves with such.
The response to weathering Ishgard emotionally, mentally, and physically was to not engage with the populace as much as possible for a long time. If Nomin needed to do shopping or get things from the Jeweled Crozier, she had Tataru or Alphinaud do that for her in her stead. While she stayed at the Fortemps Manor, and as Emmanellain and Artoirel warmed to her through her actions and deeds, she learned more about Ishgardian culture and high house etiquette that allowed her to compose herself respectfully -- at least among the high houses -- that could show that she is not some 'monstrous heretic' as people believe she is because of her Dravanian-like features.

How do they react to people asking about old scars?
Hiyo! Thank you for the ask! ♥ ; w ; /
Injury Asks
Pretty forthcoming on the surface, to be honest! If someone takes note of Nomin's scars, she'll typically go ahead and explain them briefly. She has two on her torso (one up around her shoulder / collarbone, and one on her hip), and then a more major one along her back that has halted scale growth in a rather lengthy swath. Granted, this does mean that someone has to see them first, which is hard since Nomin tends to cover herself head to toe in the beginning of her adventures through Eorzea, even in sweltering heat, all to cover her scales / reduce the amount she has to paint over.
The more that one earns her trust and friendship, however, she'll go a little more into detail about her scars if asked. For her, mentioning the brief 'how' of their existence isn't too bad. It's getting into the details of why they happened that she tends to want to keep buried away because she doesn't necessarily want to relive her time of around when they happened.
I'm still playing with the idea of also giving her (and Alphinaud) aether-burn scars along their arms from helping Estinien. That one would probably be a little more touchy in the immediate time after because she would just be like, "it was to save Estinien's life, let's leave it at that." Then later being more grateful for that moment beyond just not wanting to see Alphinaud be hurt further by their Heavensward journey.
And I'm sure as I keep writing things, she'll get more scars that she can have different reactions about! I still don't know! At the moment, I just draw and picture her with whatever journeys I've already readily chronicled. I'm slowly combing through both my 'before eorzea' and 'during eorzea' stuff, so time will tell on that. :'D

What does a first date look like for them?
Hihi, thank you for the ask! \ ; w ; / Took me a hot moment, but I'm heeeerrree-- It might feel a little frazzled, though I hope that I convey everything as best I can!
♥ Ship Questionnaire
A first date for Nomin and Estinien after the smoke has settled, after they're all back up on their feet and having licked their wounds from the events of Endwalker...
It's filled with comfort, softness, and this immense relief after everything. It's surreal, and it's one of those moments that makes everything that came before seem so incredibly insignificant compared to that day. It's interlaced fingers, it's soft lips upon the head, a gentle caress upon the skin telling both of them that everything is going to be okay -- that everything that happened was worth it to have this.
The day is a stroll through Sharlayan at each others' sides, taking in the crisp air of the island nation -- the saltiness of the sea, the freshness of the pine. The day is warm, the sun's warmth cutting through whatever natural chill is present to offer a pleasant feeling upon their skin. It is calm, it is clear, it is a moment of respite that the two have chosen to meander away from everyone else to really just simply bask in the presence of one another now that they had that time after professing their love for one another.
Estinien is ever keeping a watchful eye over Nomin now that she's free of the infirmary, though never intruding upon her space unless she wished him to. He always made sure that she really was right and well to be on her feet, for she always had such heavy burdens to face, and the last one was, by far, the heaviest. Though Nomin is ever one for touch reassurance and comfort, and she would be the first to reach for his hand -- to hold it, to examine it with her own fingers, feeling the roughness of his hands, the smoothness of his scars. To feel the storied past that he had endured more intimately than she had ever had the chance to do before.
It's a lot of silence, too. But nothing that isn't uncomfortable. In fact, their silence is born of the result of all that they had endured, all that they had gone through over the years that they had known one another. There was no need for words -- no need for recounting the past. They lived through those horrors together for the most part, after all. Shared comforting silence over hot cups of tea and coffee from the Last Stand as they sit at a ledge overlooking the ocean, feet dangling above the water.
By the end of the day, it's them ignoring the copious amounts of presents and wrapped parcels for the Warrior of Light and otherwise, putting it out of their mind that they are who they are. All simply so that they can simply be as they find themselves wrapped in each other, taking of each other's warm comfort.
Because for once, it's a day where nothing else matters.

@vasheden & @crowdsourcedloner thank you both for the ask! :'D First time a double has happened! ; w ;
Angst Questions
Nomin likes to do things alone a lot of the time. She doesn't like having help, because that means having other people in danger at worst, having people get in her way at best. Very often, she'll hear of news, or be debriefed on something, and sometimes attempt to slip away to see if she can at least scout out the thing on her own to size it up and make her own assessment of the situation.
Something a little less severe: she has a tendency to automatically attempt to hide herself. Her scales. If she's wearing something with a hood, sometimes she'll put her hands on it and make the motion to bring it over her head before settling down. She has to remind herself not to put on gloves or wrap her hands to hide those scales. She's steadily getting better about not hiding herself because now a good portion of the Three Great Continents knows her appearance either having seen her themselves, or by word of mouth.

How do they consciously realize that they like the other character? Does it take them a while?
Thank you for the ask! ; w ;
Useful / Fun Character Development Questions for Couples
Spoilers for HW, StB, ShB, and EW as a fair warning for anyone that hasn't gotten there.
--
TL;DR -> It takes a while. Four expansions worth of time. There's a whole Enemies to Lovers thing with becoming friends being a necessary mid-way point for the both of them. The realization point is in EW when Nomin refuses to let him slip through her fingers once she has that "Oh..." moment during the Sharlayan room scene.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It does take a while for Nomin to really put together the pieces that she likes Estinien more and more. Honestly, she probably never even thought of it being a possibility? (I guess that's not too much of a surprise given that she doesn't really experience strong romantic or sexual interest on sight). Especially since she did make somewhat of a plea in hopes of becoming friends after he was placed in the infirmary after the Dragonsong War had been concluded. They had been at odds with one another during nearly their entire campaign because she has more dragon-like features than anyone else in their entourage.
I don't have rose-tinted glasses about Ishgard and their views on the Au Ra people based on what we've been given. It wasn't a focal point, thankfully, but it is present. I feel like, even if Estinien may have had a respect for Nomin as the WoL (her power and ability), there are still barriers of prejudice that had to be unlearned (and successfully were over the course of HW!) to see her as more than a perceived heretical figure because of the views the people of Ishgard have born of fear and hatred of the Dravanians.
Meeting back with Estinien within her original homelands (which is one hell of a surprise to her, make no mistake) and helping him and Orn Khai allowed them to speak a little more plainly with one another and build bridges. And maybe it was for the best, because being back on the Steppe dredges up feelings and emotions that Estinien could relate with because they're similar to how he felt with Nidhogg. It offered a time for their shared experience with the Dragonsong War to be that foundation for a strong friendship. (I need to replay the StB DRG content, bear with me as I struggle with some gaps I've also yet to actually extrapolate upon for my own character stuff.)
Around that time is also the first time Nomin's true color of her scales had been revealed to Estinien. She painted them consistently till about the end of StB / start of ShB. So this was also a show of trust and the start of her finally being able to express and be herself to him.
I have a short that I'll release eventually where it does detail the tail end of the battle of Ghimlyt Dark from Estinien's point of view. As Estinien brings her back to safety, Nomin is in and out of a conscious state, a gentle questioning being done by the dragoon all the while to assess her well being, but also to get a grasp on what had happened.
Nomin, when actually conscious under Aymeric's care, dismisses the interactions that she can remember as being that of a dream. That is until Aymeric tells her that it was in fact Estinien that brought her back to safety. From there, it kind of becomes the seed that is planted, though is somewhat forgotten about during all the events of Shadowbringers (I mean, being whisked away to play the role of hero for a different star entirely does kind of take precedence).
Coming back to the Source, experiencing the Echo with Estinien and Gaius, and then being physically back in Estinien's presence is like a, "oh... right. Fuck..." moment. She's really awkward about thanking him for saving her. She's also worried about his interactions with Tiamat before her release, though definitely breathes a sigh of relief once things seem to culminate to her working with them -- and more importantly, in tandem with Estinien.
I think the turning point into romance is when, despite everything going on -- the gravity of events that surround Endwalker -- Nomin can find genuine comfort, happiness, and warmth in being with Estinien. Moments she sees him interacting with Vrtra and other Raen of Thavnair, she recognizes more that he has changed as a person, and has changed for the better. And she can see this more readily, because aside from Alphinaud, she has traveled and spent time with Estinien for the longest amount when put together out of everyone else she knows since coming to Eorzea.
So when Estinien comes and speaks to her plainly in Sharlayan with his own self-realizations and thoughts, she's just... "oh... oh..." and she won't let him just leave out the window after telling her all of that. Because she realizes that after all their growth and healing within one another's company, she's fallen in love with the person he grew into being. Fallen in love with the person who she feels understands her more than anyone else. Likewise, I like to imagine that Estinien has found comfort in their shared experiences and understanding of one another that leads into their strong, loving relationship.

🧟‍♀️- would my muse have a deceased loved one resurrected for any reason?
Headcanon Meme
I took a moment to think about this without thinking about the various MSQ moments or characters related to Certain Moments™. Though I've come to the conclusion that yes, Nomin absolutely would. Though she's come to terms with it now (for the most part), had she the means in the past, she would have brought back her adoptive-brother just so she had her family again on the Steppe. Though I suppose if that had happened, she would not be set upon the path she has been on.
Spoiler territory under the read more, though.
In the Atiascope, I fully believe that Nomin would have gotten some sense of closure from her brother that actually finally comforts her and puts her on a better path to healing better from that past trauma. He would appear during the confrontation with Fandaniel -- maybe after Ysayle as Shiva makes her appearance to protect them all with her ice. I'd like to imagine that Esenaij's spirit gifts the boon of True Strike to Nomin and the party (in-game, I like to think this boosts critical and direct hit rate) to aid in defeating Fandaniel faster.
