in all seriousness. the word 'primer' got me activating like a sleeper agent LOL. We will definitely need an AIHL primer but I think that might be a project for after my sharks primer career wraps up (180 slides. help.)

PLUS access to information on the teams seems. depressingly hard to get. Their twitter accounts, including the AIHL's official account, don't really do much. insta looks like a good option but serious digging would need to be done. I am prepared for that some time in the future but. good HEAVENS.

I am a local for the Brave and I've already met one of the players (Aleksi Toivonen MY GOAT), and plan to be at their home games with my camera !!! so at least we have the Brave slides on lock..? ahaha ..? (if anyone reading this is local to any of the AIHL teams and can provide assistance.. please see me in my office after the assembly)

I too would like to watch the aihl this year and am a media student who is suffering through Australia’s sports streaming nightmare. If you’d like moral support lmk. I have technically taken the semester off for unrelated reasons but I’m incredibly good at annoying people if need be.

....if we joined forces with a disgruntled sports journalism student we could form a fucked up little ice hockey voltron to take on the AIHL together and agitate for our right to watch men beat the life out of each other in skates?? REAL ANSWER: I may take you up on this. And re; your next ask, I also brainwashed myself into loving ice hockey this past summer in December so we are in the same boat - if it seems like I'm a little further along... I'm just one of those people who likes to absorb large chunks of info on my hobbies.

You won't get shunned here for not knowing Everything; hockeyblr has been incredibly welcoming and warm to me (especially krakenblr!!!! we're built different and i'll die on that hill) and I think we both landed in the right place <3

Also so real, I don’t actually have any enemies either(except for afl’s Hawthorne, I’m so sorry but I just cannot. And even then that’s mostly to be able tell my friends their team has shit colours). Let the aihl chaos begin(hopefully!)!!

I’m asking for permission for a warrant for the north stars as they’re my team. I will not be able to watch any of their games in person till July but trust it will happen😢. We will make do with what we have social media wise and hope for the best. I’ll begin my instagram perusing anyways haha

Just found out we may be aihl enemies, very sad(let’s hope the north stars are better than my other sports teams bc the track record is bad). Hoping praying and begging I will actually manage to watch a game this weekend. aihl spam will be incoming if I do. Hope you’re having fun and doing well!!

I HAVE NO ENEMIES !!!! <3 Seriously, call it naive but... I don't see myself getting truly vicious about sports. I came to this country and grew up on mateship and fairness and sportsmanship, it's in my BONES. And. you've seen me watch the NHL... I think I could become pretty fond of every AIHL team. Friendly rivalries are always fun though, I hope we can have some of that!!

I don’t know how to say this in a not weird way so I’m gonna say it in a weird way. I love and adore every piece of writing of yours that I’ve read. Your ability to simply put emotions and passion into words is something I strive towards and I hope one day I’m half as good as you. I have teared up reading some of your work before and it is writers like you, who understand the passion , pain, eternal suffering and unbridled joy of sports and sport narratives that keep me a. Invested, and b. Hopeful and excited about the future of sport and the way it will continue to be appreciated. Long story short I think your writing is fucking fantastic lol

Thank you genuinely for going through and reading any of my writing. It’s been barely a month and i feel as though my older pieces are behind me, and my next one is going to be the best thing i’ve written so far — call it a kind of writing dysphoria. to hear that people go back and read my older works and still enjoy them, can be moved by them, is so special to me. i will carry your words with me, thank you.

and from one writer to another: i hope you keep going and i hope to read whatever you write one day. I hope this doesn’t come off as patronising, please excuse me if it does… my true passion, my big time dream, is to go into publishing and help people make their writing more Theirs, more true to their vision rather than adhering to some industry-defined trend, or standard.

whatever you are comparing yourself and your writing to: your love of the craft and your unique voice are stranger and newer and lovelier than anything that exists. and there will be many people in the future (and there is at least ONE person rn — me!!) who will read and love whatever you write.
