I was tagged in an ask meme by @lone-rhapsodist (thank you!!!!! <3) and never got around to doing it so here I am :D Putting it under a cut since it’s long.

Who is your favourite mythical figure? I mean, I’m a devoted of Hades and Persephone, so I feel like that’s the obvious answer, heh. But also Achilles and Patroclus.

What is your favourite fact about the ancient world?  b r e a d    f r a u d 

What is an object from your childhood you’re especially fond of? I have a stuffed bunny (it’s sanrio brand, her name is usahana!) that I’ve had since I was 5 or 6; also, I have a necklace my girlfriend from when I was 12 gave me, though I consider that adolescence more than childhood. 

Do you know where your ancestors were from? Yes! My paternal ancestors are Welsh and my maternal ancestors are Basque. I’ve been doing research lately into my Basque heritage and it’s been amazing. 

What is the farthest you’ve ever been from home? I went to the UK to visit family when I was 9-ish. It was a good time from what I remember (London has amazing museums and I’d love to go back someday).

What is a film that really moved you, or at least made you think? 120 Beats Per Minute is a French film (not a documentary) about members of ACT UP Paris during the AIDS crisis. It’s a beautifully designed and deeply moving film and I would HIGHLY recommend it to people (although of course tw for death, etc). Apart from its general amazingness of the little things I liked about it was casual inclusion of trans people and disabled people as just people-- the film acknowledges different experiences/privileges without making it a Thing™.

What is the thing you’ve done that you’re most proud of? The whole college thing in general, really. I thought I was gonna drop out of high school before 10th grade and now I want to go to grad school, and that’s pretty amazing I think.

If you could go back, would you change anything? If yes, what? There are a couple of smaller things I might change but I am myself because of what has happened to me, and because of the mistakes I have made. So I think in the end I wouldn’t change anything.
