Also, it’s only fitting that I apply these to Bleach where I can lmao.

2. What’s a memorable anime Bleach scene?

I’m going to cheat and say two.

But the entire time Kisuke Urahara is in the Maggot’s Nest, I was ENTHRALLED. I am so obsessed with that place and Kisuke fending off a huge man with one hand and then walking up to young Mayuri in a cell live in my head incredibly rent free. My questions/musings about that place are endless.

Secondly, Tatsuki punching Ichigo through a glass window like it’s nothing after Orihime peaces out to Hueco Mundo. I vividly remember thinking it was proof she had powers and that she would be showing up in Hueco Mundo and the disappointment was incredible when it didn’t happen. Especially when I first read Bleach, as it was updating, I saw her as SUCH an important character and couldn’t fathom what the fuck was going on when she didn’t get powers, at all. It was just so angsty, dramatic, and a well done scene.

4. Who’s an anime Bleach character you relate to?

Once again, I’m gonna cheat.

Retsu Unohana, Isane Kotetsu, and Izuru Kira are all characters I find relatable. They all have a similar vibe imo and I can easily grab at aspects of their personality that I relate to.

10. Do you hate any anime Bleach characters? If so, why?

Honestly, I don’t hate any fictional character—I’m just not built like that and I’d rather hate on bad narrative choices or something.

But I do have a few characters that just sort of annoy or bore me.

Byakuya Kuchiki. I know he has depth, but even that sort of bores me. It’s like Kubo saw Sesshomaru and thought ‘I can do that’ but he couldn’t. He couldn’t do that. He’s fun to dunk on, though.

Bazz-B. Honestly not a lot to say? I just feel like he hits a lot of beats other characters already did (he feels similar to Ikkaku + Renji) and they did it better.

Pesche + Dondochakka + Baby Nel. I guess this might be more a narrative pick, but their comedy relief annoys me and their connection with the main cast feels hollow (heh). They mess with the Ichigo + Uryu Privaron Espada scenes in a way that irks me. I get why they’re there….but I don’t like it.
