I just wanted to let you know that I think you're an amazingly talented writer and worldbuilder. you made the tw universe so interesting with the concept of northern america being like the wild west compared to southern america, and how you created theo's backstory, the writers of the show could never have come up with something so good, with such a compelling story and fantastic writing. sorry for the ridiculously long ask, i just really wanted you to know how amazing you and yofoeaat are.
holy shit, thank you so much!! that’s so, incredibly kind!! I had a lot of fun messing with the non-Beacon Hills shreds of canon that they gave us, and kind of messing with the TW universe and theo’s backstory and everything, it was really cool!!
I’m really glad you liked the concepts! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Personally, I can’t imagine that there ISN’T  a more civilized society than the one shown in Beacon Hills, where hunters can just kill whoever they want and werewolves can just kill/turn whoever they want with no consequences, especially if mythological creatures have been around since the beginning of time. There has to be SOMEWHERE in the world that’s more organized, with actual rules on how to deal with the supernatural aspects of what’s going on. Clearly, in the TW universe, the United States is something like an every-man-for-himself, where anyone can be judge, jury, executioner, and law enforcement are left in the dark, so there is no way to make people/supernatural creatures answer for their crimes. In terms of supernatural law enforcement, the united states is completely unchartered terrain -- this would make them the most vulnerable to Monroe and other coalitions that rise up to incite violence, and the most prone to issues. I can’t imagine any of the other, more organized Nemeton locations would have nearly as much chaos/murder as Beacon Hills.
In terms of Theo’s backstory, that was one of my favorite parts to write, so I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! I really didn’t even plan to delve that deep into it, but when I started writing that chapter, I just couldn’t stop. I feel like canon didn’t explain him or his motivations that well, so it was super interesting to dig into his psyche and his character and try to piece apart what could have caused him to be the kind of person we saw in s5. I don’t think anyone is power-hungry without a reason (usually that they felt powerless for a long time) and, like, you have to want power for a reason. What was he planning to DO with the power of the true alpha or the beast after he got it? He wanted to steal scott’s pack and become the alpha, but, like... why? These were all questions that I had after watching the show, and I hope I at least answered some of them in yofoeaat :D
Do not apologize!! at all!!! haha sorry for this ridiculously long reply, but if you were wondering, now you know :D I’m so happy you’re enjoying it so far :)
