1,000 LIVE MUSIC UPLOADS!! The Super Dark Live Music YouTube channel just hit 1k (and counting) video uploads - congrats to @nathan_meltz & the House of Tomorrow for being # 1000! One of our lesser mentioned labors of love at Super Dark Collective is our archive of live footage, which we are quite proud of. Over half of these uploads are from our weekly Super Dark Series alone (nearly the last 6 years starting with the first Super Dark Monday at One Caroline in 2017). The majority of these videos are all full songs or song length excerpts, and have been used in the past for our end of the year Best of Super Dark live compilation albums as well as incorporated in our Super Dark Home Video public access TV show/ web series. But personally I have been documenting music in and around our area of Upstate, NY (and beyond) since before Super Dark, YouTube, & smart phones, eventually uploading the channel’s first ever video on January 20th, 2006: Saratoga Springs based hip hop group Backward Blessing (@simegezus & @100psychicdreams of Eraserheadz) at the defunct venue The Hudson Duster in Troy. I guess I’ve been a local music fan/ nerd/ weirdo for at least 17 years. We appreciate all of you wonderful, talented artists and performers, and while it’s impossible to capture everyone, we’re happy we’ve caught a real solid few. And if we haven’t yet... well, maybe at the next one!
