Block?

favorite thing about them: he’s a grumpy bastard with fun dialogue! he’s mean, but he’s the fun kind of mean for a character, yknow? plus the lack of canon backstory makes him a fun blank slate to work with, I can give him whatever backstory I want!

least favorite thing about them: the lack of screentime, tbh!!!

favorite line: he’s got a lot of good ones, but if I had to pick... “none of your business part 2: the shut-uppening!”

brOTP: him and Concentric Circles-- yeah that character had less than a minute of screentime but I imagine xyr’e pretty close friends with Block when they’re not doing Supreme Tribunal stuff.

OTP: Mahlblock 2.0 aka Block/Anthony. Danny Boy needs his Anthony!

nOTP: uh... I guess Block/Dakota? Not that i’ve ever seen anyone ship it, but I hc their relationship is closer to that of a father figure/mentee thing, due to the MP timeline backstory I’ve given them. but in the absence of that backstory, I don’t mind it so much, since, well... that backstory is purely headcanon.

random headcanon: Block thinks that to truly experience a movie, you have to see it for the first time in theaters. That’s why he went back 6 months to see a movie he missed, rather than get it on whatever digital home-viewing media they have in 2175.

unpopular opinion: I guess this counts as an unpopular opinion but I’m not always the biggest fan of casting Block as the villain in fanfics. If done right, it can be really good (coughcoughAnacardiacoughcough) but sometimes it feels like people just toss him the villain ball because they don’t like him, rather than give him any real motivations.

I realize this may sound a little hypocritical. I hear you say ‘but Brandy, you’re casting Block as the villain in Into The Murphy-verse!’ And I get it-- but I’m not tossing him the villain ball for no reason, my friends. ;3c
