I love encores they're such an endearing little social ritual. like a band will be like hey guys that's it that's the last song : ( we got no more songs* : ( gutbye forever : ( but then if we make noise for a good minute or so they'll come back like wow : ) thank you guys this is such a surprise! : ) I guess we can play a few more since you're just so nice : ) as if this doesn't happen every night. Humanity just loves an ongoing Bit and I love indulging in it

*Footnote: this experience is enhanced if this is the kind of band that only can claim about 5 "hit" songs tops and they have not yet played half of them
