Deity: Tergrid, God of Fright
"Terror is the natural state of a child, they know they are small, vunrable, glass fragile. It is only once we grow that we delude ourselves into thinking we are safe, that we are strong, that we have control over the world we live in. Show a grown man how little control he really has, and you will see the child he always was: pissreeking, repentant, and pleading for his mother. " - Gerheart, village executioner
A goddess for those who hold close to the light dreading the unknown or those who wander gleefully into the dark seeking it, Tergrid is a deity of imagined horrors and terrible omens.
Depicted as a young woman always bearing a lantern, myths speak of Tergrid's shadow as a monstrous, murderous thing with a will of its own. Unable to kill the goddess due to the light she carries, it vents it's directionless wrath on those who linger beyond the lantern's glow. This duality, as both as the victim of fear and the source of it defines the brightmaiden's worship; as she is both threat and saviour to those who draw her attention.
Adventure Hooks:
The party arrive at a country roadhouse at dusk, only to find the inhabitants have nailed shut every door and shutter as if preparing for a siege. They say some horrid murderous things are lurking just off the road, and as the light wanes they refuse to let the heroes inside. The roadhouse's residents are terrified and are willing to fight to keep the party out, half convinced the party are themselves the things they should be afraid of... which isn't to say there ISN'T anything else waiting for that door to open. After negoitating their way inside (or forcing the issue) the heroes discover the roadhouse residents were warned of the danger by a mysterious woman who passed through earlier, though none can remember exactly what she looked like.
A knight renowned for his fearless deeds wanders the street in a waking nightmare, seeing threats everywhere and lashing out at phantoms and passersby. Even after being subdued it’s clear he won’t awake, and many suspect interference from jealous rivals in the upcoming tourney. The knight’s meek squire asks the party to help investigate the causes and possible cures of her master’s madness, never suspecting that her suppressed resentment at his recklessness might’ve manifested as a curse.
In desperate need of answers, the party consults an oracle dedicated to Tergrid who has them undergo trials of fear and phantasm so that they might know the truth. Chiefest among these is battling in a dark cave full of shadow monsters, while flickering visions of the future are cast on the wall by the guttering lantern light. The longer they can endure, the more they will know, but that isn't likely to be long unless they fight harder than they ever have before.
Inspiration: Tergrid is a shameless lift from Magic the Gathering's Kaldheim setting, which I've never played but apparently keep returning to as a consistent well of inspiration.
Fear both as a mechanic and motif is something I think is underutilized in D&D which is odd considering it's a game about venturing out into the unknown to face potentially deadly challenges. Fear and risk are what our heroes must endure to experience the wonder and rewards on the other side of their journey. As such it makes sense for a goddess of fear to play a role in the thematic weave of the stories we end up telling.
Speaking in less lofty terms, I also think using the lantern as a symbol for being frightened fucks hard. It's a tiny, fragile, and temporary respite from an ocean of darkness and the threats it contains.
Worshippers: The lost and abandoned, Unseele Fey, Shadowcasters and other denizens of the shadowfell. There is also heavy overlap with the worship of the night goddess Nyx.
Signs: Nightmares, unnatural or living shadows,
Symbols: A Lantern, often surrounded by a circle of darkness.

So I've returned thanks to my twin sister, who has left ruin in her wake to find me. The sheer destruction she caused is both endearing and horrifying. There are many beings she faced that I doubt others could take alone, whom laid unconscious on the ground, and there was not a single home left standing. I doubt there is anything that could stop her from rescuing me.
I am sadly thirty years older than when we last met, though the time I spent there was far, far longer than that, and she is now on a new war path to restore my youth and all the years stolen from me. Knowing her new reputation, I very much doubt it will take long at all, since she caused the fall of a prominent branch of the unseele court by herself.
I only vaguely remember my time spent in school and I would like to attempt to return to my studies. I've no fear of the Fae any longer as my twin plans to enroll here if only just to keep a closer eye on my safety, I'm not sure if they fear more the iron knuckles or the mundane wooden bat she has. How she terrorized them without any magic used is beyond me.
In any case, I'll be indulging in being the older twin for once, and give her sagely wisdom of an old man, at least until she finally gets one of the gentry to give me back my youth.
The Calm will be rejoining the theatre and art departments and The Storm will shortly be joining the knights who protect the other students. I pity any Fae that crosses her path now.

Cyberpunk 2077 Vampire AU Lore
🚫 Do Not Re-Upload/Edit My Shots/Art Without My Permission🚫
[Pillowfort][Instagram][Tumblr][AO3][Nexus]
My Vampires are a cross between Vampire the Masqurade and the Fai/unseele, they are in tune with the Magic/supernatural in all things. in my lore they are not conventional european Vampires so certain weaknessess dont apply to them but new ones do.
The Pax A nomad Vampire tribe, originally pacifists they never hunt to kill and only took what they needed from there prey before releasing them (they can make them forget). they had been known to take in refugee's and sometimes bestowed the gift on them if they choose to stay and follow there ways and have a sponsor from the tribe. they believed nature should be preserved and while not against technology entirely they mostly avoided it.
They cant die of old age or disease but severe injury/dismemberment/beheading can destroy them, they can take alot of damage but if they are too injured and can not consume blood to boost there healing factor they will perish and turn to ash.
Traits Strength - extremely strong Speed - very fast - some even look like they can teleport Healing Factor - super healing Forget - make there blood doner forget the experience. Pleasurable bite - while the initial bite can hurt the overall experience can be pleasant and almost erotic in some cases (some tribes have been known to have willing blood donors live with there tribe because of this)
healing saliva (can close small cuts, puncture wounds and scrapes with there saliva) Enhanced Vision - can see very far and in the dark Advanced Hearing - super sensitive hearing Fortitude - can take alot of damage
Weakened by Prolonged exposure to Sunlight - can burn and in extreme cases set them on fire or destroy them turning them to ash Iron - weakens there link to magic/the supernatural making them weak. Lack of rest - If they do not rest in there coffin during the day it can weaken them severely the longer they go without rest.
Vampire Tiers (age since becoming a vampire) Fledgling (under 10 years) (1 to 2 gifts) Vampire (10 - 99 years) (1 to 2 gifts) Matriarch/Monarch (100 years) (3 gifts) (can bestow the gift) Elder (200 years +) (4 gifts) (can bestow the gift)
Gift types
Influence. Common - Awe - an aura that makes the vampire appear more friendly/trustworthy to the target) Rare - Compulsion (influence the target by pushing there thoughts on them making the target think these thoughts are there own (cost Rest) Dark Gift - Domination - hypnotise a target and control them completely (Cost: blood of the target, if used on the same target 3 times they can become resistant to Domination)
Sensory Common: Sense - get a sense of the innate power of another vampire or the potential for power from a human if bestowing the gift. Rare: Echo - get glimpses/flashes of images/memories of any object, vampire or humans past (cost: rest) Dark Gift: Total Recall - by consuming the blood of the target the vampire can extract memories or the surface thoughts or intentions of another vampire or human (cost: blood of the target, if used to often on the same target it can change the vampires personality for example using it on an alcoholic, smoker, gambling addict could give the vampire the same addiction.)
Transformation Common: Mimic - change eye or hair colour, get freckles, scars, birth marks to blend in Rare: Changeling - change physical traits for example growing claws, glowing eyes ect (cost: rest) Dark Gift: Transformation become a beast like a wolf or bear or change a single body part like growing a maw (cost: blood, if used to often you can take on a physical change permanently) (it is rare but there are some Vampires that are permanently stuck as wolves)
Common Gifts: can be used with no limit or consequence Rare: are more powerful and require rest after Dark gifts: have blood costs and can have other consequences
Raven stats Sire: Varek Tier: Matriarch gifts: Sense, Compulsion, changeling
Goro stats Sire: Raven Tier: Fledgling Goros gifts: Awe, echo, ?

"They are being unreasonable," Victor cried.
"If I may," Christophe purred in his lilting way, "it is not unreasonable to require care and tending to... well, anything really."
"It would just come with me," came the huffed reply.
"Victor, min vän." Christophe took a careful sip of his drink, waiting for the silver head to raise, blue eyes glaring balefully into the camera. "Animals do not tend to themselves when domesticated. Not here. No matter what these animated films may say."
"Why not?!"
It was Christophe's turn to freeze. "I'm not really sure. I think it has something to do with the eternal cycle and being removed from nature?"
"They are pets! There nature is to be in a home."
"I'm not sure that's how it works. What got you so interested in an animal companion anyway?"
"One stood on me."
The long, complicated stair Victor receives encourages him to elaborate, which he promptly does. "The thing is, since I've been here, nothing has seemed to shock me. There is so little glamour. It's like wonder in the land of winter is in short supply. I just don't get it, Chris. Winter is the time of rest and cozy joy. Crystal wonders, castles made of ice. Why is it not like this here?"
"None of us have it easy, Victor. The material world is far more locked. How locked depends on who's around you. The more you can make them dream, make them follow - there eyes wide, heart open - the less the world tells you no. People are desperate to dream. That doesn't mean those dreams aren't about predictable things."
A low groan escaped the ice king's lips as he melted into his roll-wheels desk chair. As it slid, he tossed his arms out, letting one fall across his eyes, the other a decorous extension of his lament. "I see you've been working on your program. What's the theme?"
"Languishing. Forlorn. The ever extending existential crisis of faith in this mundane world!"
"So... changes?"
"Yes. Changes."
"You are so dramatic."
"Awe, thanks!" Victor slid back to the desk, his smile big. "What's yours?"
"Growth."
"Little on point for a spring fey, isn't it?"
"Literal growth, Victor. I am ridiculously short. I am looking forward with great passion to the day I regain my splendor in the Material Realm. As it stands I can only reach high shelves at the embassy."
"If you had a pet, they could do that for you."
"Only particular pets, and I do not think I want something so dependent on me. I move about to much. I need something independent."
"Like the familiars or like the pooka?"
"Pooka hear you talk like that and we may well have to get a new Ice King while we're looking for Yuri and the Hero." Christophe paused, head tilted. "Why do we call him that anyway. I know it's his title, but doesn't he have a name name?"
"His title is Duke of Shadows, actually. Hero is a moniker. Though, come to think of it, I don't know if he has a name. I mean, he must. I hear Yuri whispering something to him all the time that tickles the ears like one, but it's never really said out loud."
"We're fey, Victor. Would you tell your name to just anyone when you're bound by the title of Hero? Also, when did he become a duke?"
"End of the second age, I think. When he created the Dawn."
"Yuri?"
"Sort of. It's complicated. I think Yuri was always there, just kind of hidden by shadows. I suppose it's more accurate to say he 'removed the shadows from' Yuri. The previous Unseele left a lot of things confusing on purpose. My head still has a hard time wrapping about all that occurred."
"Hum. Well, about this dog," Christophe said casually.
"Yes! You must help me find one! I require a little chaos in my life. I am so bored with out it."
Christophe nodded, fully intending to help his friend, refusing to let him know the chaos he was missing was his terrifyingly brilliant cousin. Victor was missing that spark of 'life'. He only hoped to keep Victor's unspoken burden of guilt from drowning him in banality before they recovered his fire brand relative - and that mania would not result if they didn't find the Hero before that.

The Fae Courts
The fairy realm in Morgan’s canon is merely one section of the vast and ever evolving plane of existence parallel to our own, known as The Otherworld. Particularly, there are two sides to the fairy realm that are divided by a never ending barricade of magic and war. The two sides at war are called the Seelie Court, and the Unseelie Court. Now you may have heard of these terms before when discussing the fae or “fairy magic/k”, that’s because originally these specific classifications of fairies originate from one of the many ways that Irish, English, Scottish and Welsh folklore have been categorized throughout history.
The Unseelie Court in Morgan’s canon are the malevolent fairies or fae-race; they are chaotic, and merciless, sometimes they can be just simply mischievous or downright evil, but most importantly they are totally unbound by specific ruler or specific hierarchy. Like all fairies, members of the Unseelie Court come in various shapes, sizes, colors, and spiritual forms. Sometimes they can glamour themselves to look just as human as ourselves, other times they can transfigure themselves into the form of one’s greatest fear, depending on their rank in the court and magic capabilities.
Now, the Seelie Court in Morgan’s canon are not just the benevolent fairies or the “good” fairies, they are also the indifferent and neutral ones as well who have either no business or interest in meddling with human affairs or the other side of The Otherworld’s veil. The Seelie Court is at constant war with the Unseelie Court and have been for as long as The Otherworld has been in existence. To this day, nobody knows why the two sides have been at each other’s throats day in and day out, the general consensus is that the Unseele Court’s desire is to push the Seelie Court back so far into their own section of the fae realm, that eventually the Unseele Court will be able to break through The Otherworld’s already thinning veil and eternal wreak havoc on humanity. Very similar to Norse mythology’s concept of Ragnorock; the ending to end all endings.
Not only are the Seelie Court different from the Unseelie Court in the way that they choose to exist and use their magic, but also, the Seelie Court is known to be governed by a select group of individuals from the fae-race that were once actually living on Earth, but were inevitably flushed out once the human race began to take control of their realm. This group of upper level fae individuals in Irish folklore is known as the Tuath Dé, loosely translated in English to the “tribe of the gods”, later the Tuatha Dé Danann or "the folk of the goddess Danu”.
It has been said that the Tuath Dé are made up of a specific race of nonbinary fae or god-like peoples, most of their names being long forgotten by the masses as the Abrahamic religions swiftly displaced the old ways of the various Germanic pagan religions. What is known, however, is that while the Tuath Dé were present on Earth for the time that they were, ancient records indicate there had been a line of ruling and government similar to the concept of monarchy as we know it as today. What was known as Ireland then was ruled over by various Kings ( with no indication that Queens were allowed to govern ) up until the human revolt took place, and the Tuath Dé were banished back to where they originated from on the other side of The Otherworld’s veil.

While Tim enjoys bass, he still feels like there's an air of mystery that surrounds the young entity. He would like to get closer and maybe explore something with him. like is this a crush or is there really something there.
For billy its second verse same as the first for this entity as well. He'd put him in the ground, however this is Tims project so he is going to just avoid conflict for now.
Tom and tam are intrieged by him. For Tom the realm has a unseele feel to it he's facinated and might want to learn more, plus he'd want to see this little crush that Tim has and screw with him a bit. Tam also senses the same type of vibes from the whispers she hears at the bottom of the sea, she would like to learn more about this place.

Very fair!
Also what's your opinion on what separates Seele from Unseele Fey?
What's your thoughts on bugbears? Why their fear obsessed on Golorian.
I think Monster Codex took a little bit of their mystique as boogeymen that even hobgoblins feared, but overall I find them alright, if statistically stale. They make good slasher-villain-types, stalking and terrifying and eventually picking off caravans and adventuring parties alike.
Their obsession with causing and maximizing fear, combined with the fact they tower over their goblinoid kin, makes me think they're what happens when abyssal energy surges in and transforms a hobgoblin body. All goblins are the offspring of demons, but only the bugbears appear to fully embrace this and put up the least fight against their Chaotic Evil heritage.
They may be the goblinoid version of tieflings, except seemingly none of them buck against their nature; the case may be that, similar to Hags, a bugbear only comes into existence when a hobgoblin fully embraces evil.

Faebruary 20th - Seelie
In Scottish folklore, faeries are divided into the Seelie Court (more benevolent, but still dangerous) and the Unseelie Court (more malevolent).
The Seelie Court were described as those fairies who would seek help from humans, warn those who have accidentally offended them, and return human kindness with favors of their own. Still, a fairy belonging to this court would avenge insults and could be prone to mischief.
(It wouldn't be me if I didn't shoehorn one of my OCs into this art challenge!)

Have you ever been inspired with your writing by a saint?
yes!!!
In Runways, Lady Brigid is just... St Brigid.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ea412595730a80c0616c17efe6431be9/982a6d9165eb131f-a8/s540x810/b1cf7e57e87af7452ed7d7c627e7275909e98a19.jpg)
She's one of the first patron saints of Ireland, along with St. Patrick and founded several monasteries, and so I thought it would make sense for her in-story to have established the religious order special unit of Powers - the group that takes in humans who are blessed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit magical abilities and trains them to fight the demons unseele that plague humanity. She shares a name with (but isn't literally) a mythological figure in Irish history, which lends to her association with the fae.
Also!!! In The Laoche Chronicles and Storge, Madleyn and Luca eventually receive the power over life and death itself from the Artist to work miracles of healing and regrowth, basically becoming Saints but this is fantasy land and so I can't use that word and so they become Relics. And the objects they carry - the journal and staff respectively - serve the function of IRL relics, as physical remains of a holy person and the things they touched, capable of working miracles in their own right, and are venerated in the same way!

A perfectly valid idea!
I was more asking mostly because of my opinion that, the only "always evil" or atleast 90% of the time evil, race are Outsiders like Fey and Fiends. So stuff like Good Drow or Bugbears are possible.
Also what's your opinion on how Seele vs Unseele works? In my setting,as the Feywild is essentially emotion ramped up to greater heights,Seele is stuff like Joy and light, but no less dangerous (too much of a good thing turns bad very quickly) while Unseele are negative emotions like sadism or bloodlust. I originally wanted something like a comedy tragedy theme but felt that fit how they see the Shadowfell instead.
What's your options on bugbears in Golorian being all serial killers or atleast obsessed with fear? I think that has room for, improvement. Definitely feels weird for them though.
I love it.
It's one of my favorite lore changes between D&D and Pathfinder. It makes bugbears feel less like "goblin, but giant". And Paizo has made it clear that some goblins mutate and just grow to Medium size, so you can have giant goblins if you want 'em.
@monstersdownthepath suggested that bugbears have a demonic taint to them. Despite their CE nature, I'd suggest sahkils instead. Bugbears are the Fear of Marauders, of Banditry, of Murder. Only they're mortal. But I bet a lot of their souls end up in Xilbaba when they die.
I imagine that small groups of bugbears are somewhere between bandit gangs and terrorist cells, roaming around and striking for maximum psychological impact as much as to get material goods. Larger communities would be like Halloweentown, only much less friendly. With running competitions for "most blood drained in a single evening". And adopting more terrible monsters into their numbers as Honorary Bugbears. Life's no fun without a good scare! If the Thing Hiding Under Your Stairs and The Shadow on the Moon At Night really wanted to kill you, and then looted your supplies and took over your village until the well runs dry or next year's crop doesn't plant itself. That's a bugbear clan.
I also love the implication in Ironfang Invasion, through characters like Scarvinious and Scabvistin (great naming convention too, IMO), that some, but not all, bugbears are envious of hobgoblins. They like the idea of civilization, of order and rigidity. And so they enlist. And because of their strength and power, they can succeed. If they "beat the bear" out, in Scabvistin's words.
So if you want to give bugbears another hook, here's my alternate, but not necessarily incompatible take. They're brood parasites. Because what's scarier than a baby that's not yours taking over your life?
We know that in Pathfinder canon, goblins and hobgoblins are both communal breeders (thanks to nursery locations in both Rise of the Runelords and Jade Regent). A mother bugbear sneaks into a goblin creche and leaves her baby behind, after killing one of the young and either eating it themselves or feeding it to Junior. The somewhat addlepated and mutation-prone goblins won't notice or mind a slightly hairier infant, right? And then the bugbear baby takes more than its fair share of resources, maybe knocks off a few of the other kids, and then either leaves the goblin colony at a young age in order to find more bugbears, or stays and muscles his way into a leadership position.
Doing the same to a hobgoblin community is riskier. The hobgoblins are much more in tune and observant. But in this case, it becomes more of a mutualistic relationship that could tip into parasitism on either end. Maybe the bugbear can get along in the hobgoblin village by learning discipline, or be content with the role of scavenger or brute. Or the bugbear could try to take over, if the hobgoblins are weak. And if the bugbear doesn't have the resources to survive and thrive, the hobgoblins send them off on a suicide mission.
And even though they only rely on other goblinoids for raising their young...most of the time, there are rumors that they do this to other peoples. Even if it happens once in a hundred years, everyone will know the story of how the Munson boy got very hairy and very big very quickly, and then slaughtered and spit-roasted the family dog when he was only 4? That kind of fear keeps the bugbears powerful. And makes the bugbears very happy.

Why yes, anon who I do not know, you can <3
Us, Intermingling
Oumota Prince X Knight! AU
“Remind me of why we’re out here again?” The horse they’re sharing is the biggest one second to the king’s and built for war and trampling obstacles. Momota looks dwarfed on it himself but behind his knight, who is just barely half his size, the steed is more of a beast. He has no idea how Ouma convinced his parents to allow him such an impressive animal, one to rival all of the knight’s superiors, but he’s glad at moments like these when the endless expense of the creature’s back gave way to two flush bodies, holding on for dear life.
“We, my dear prince, are out here for the joint purpose of fulfilling a stupid prophecy.” Ouma says. His hair is tied in a lazy ponytail now, giving Momota easy access to look over his shoulder. His own hair is also down, quickly combed through with his fingers in excitement. They don’t get out of the palace like this often.
“Excuse me?” The prince’s face warms at the title and flicks Ouma in the back. The smaller man probably didn’t even feel it.
“Yeah, there’s a stupid forgotten sword somewhere around…” Ouma looks at his map briefly, trailing his fingers over the crumpled paper. “—Here. right there. And a stupid hero is supposed to pick it up, unseeling it from its stupid earthbound tomb.”
Momota leans into Ouma more, looking over his shoulder at the map as the horse jostles them. The paper shakes a bit in the knight’s unsteady hands and the prince, helpful in all ways, wraps his arms tighter around the body in front of him, settling them both. He can’t help himself from taking a whiff from this close. The knight smells like sweat and iron and the oil used to clean leather with a hint of Momota’s own lavender perfume. Knowing that Ouma walks around with subtle traces of Momta on him everyday, maybe even all day, is doing something horrible to the prince.
“You want me to pull a sword from the stone? I’m dressed in my casuals Ouma … ” The knight turns his head and smiles, pulling on the white pillowy sleeve of Momota’s top.
“Of course, I don’t want you to. I’m the hero here. Me. I get to pull the big fuck-off sword out the hole” The horse neighs and stops, kicking up dirt. “You’re just here to watch in awe.” And Momota, now suddenly looking at those eyes he loved so much, already felt overwhelmed. ‘God above, what torture to pine after the foolish man kept around for your protection.’ He thinks, happily, as Ouma runs over to the sword in the stone. ‘What a horrible fate indeed.’

Who’s your fav Disney villain?
I'm a big fan of Maleficent. *Warning: Essay Ahead* Her voice acting is primo, her design is tops, and in various versions of the story, she had 100% the rights to do what she did. See, depending on the version you read, all of the ones involving the fae include one of them, the one that became Maleficent, being left out because the king didn't have enough golden plates/didn't want to invite the Unseele Court/thought that particular fairy was dead. So she was basically snubbed for stupid reasons. And since Fae are dramatic and mercurial in their ways and rules, she was in her rights to curse an infant to death.
Hades is a close second, I identify with the dark humor and you know he parties hard.
