So, I've been considering Homestuck for a while, and I already know stuff like that all the Flash comics still work if you use the Unofficial Archive, and that none of the official post-canon content is any good, and have a general awareness of some of the larger memes, but is there anything else you think one should know before reading? You seem like the guy to ask.
Ohhhhh, you have catered well to my autism, beloved mutual
First off, I am actually a lover of postcanon in at least an authorial sense! I would argue that anyone who really cares about Homestuck by the end of the comic should at least give the 'friendsim' style games a chance, as they're built off of but not dependent on a knowledge of postcanon. Pesterquest has got to be one of the most satisfying official depictions we've gotten of who Dirk is as a character in a very, very long time. "Good" is a matter of subjectivity in this sense given that I really do think they were created to get people to challenge their perception of the characters. It genuinely saddens me that people won't even give postcanon a chance given the reputation that it has since it's pretty much a miracle that it's still going. It went off of hiatus just last year under a completely new management!!! There has never been more action in the official sense from the community in years! Hell, we finally got an actual height chart of the characters thanks to a cafe event in 2023 there has never been a better time for postcanon babey
The Unofficial Archive is a thing of wonder to me, but something I hear less often about is people talking about Homestuck.net itself, which is a massive resource for anyone wanting to do research on any aspect of the comic. You want to find ripped fonts for something as innocuous as Dirk's handwriting? Homestuck.net's got you covered. Need to track down a bunch of unreleased (in the official sense) midis that Toby Fox made for a research paper and it's practically lost media at this point (an actual real thing I had to do)? Check the Homestuck Soundtest that's hosted on there. Don't read the Skaianet Archives. If I can express anything in particular about the comic itself? Read it with the extension/ mod where you get Hussie's author commentary, it was genuinely an eye-opening experience getting to see them talk about their work even if it was mostly in a sardonic sense. Do NOT use the slur replacement project mod on your first readthrough unless you really cannot handle the occasional 'joke' because it genuinely will mess with moments you should be paying attention to for some of the kids. Is the language outdated? Absolutely. Is there a point to it? Yes. Dirk is cool as fuck and also a massive dork. I cannot emphasize how much these two go hand in hand with each other. I'm fairly sure the moment that cracked my egg was a panel of him sadly making two pngs of himself and the boy he likes kiss each other. Homestuck is good and it's probably influenced a lot more media than you think. I genuinely think the reputation it's gotten is unfair. It's ruined my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I could look this up, however you seem to be the resident expert. What's the short form lore with Home Stuck and how is there so much of it given I'm told it was only a very short web comic?(mind you this might be wrong but I have no idea)
Bro whoever told you Homestuck was short fucking lied to you man lmao. Approx 8100+ pages and at least half of them contain significantly lengthy samples of text that's essential for understanding what's going on. But that pill is a lot easier to swallow because the text is almost never too dry to sift through and is instead usually either hilarious or otherwise engaging with emotional moments between the cast.
As for what it's actually ABOUT:
Four kids play a game that isekais them into a world between universes for the purpose of creating a new universe to repopulate and rule over (or not), while also causing the earth to be destroyed by meteors.
Due to an absurdly long series of events made up of a Spirograph's worth of Time Loops, their game session goes off the rails and they have to work together with a group of internet trolls (who are part of an alien species from another universe literally CALLED trolls who are the grey bug people with candy corn horns you've no doubt seen) to salvage everything going completely FUBAR, all while dealing with their own personal issues.
I dunno why so many people have such issue explaining this, it's essentially a Creation Myth story rooted in Late Oughts/Early to mid New Tens internet culture. And thank God because if went on any longer than that it'd be as awful as the Epilogues and its sequel, which you should ignore because they're about as CURRENTYEAR as you imagine.
If you get into it, look for the fanmade Unofficial Collection which even the author Andrew Hussie himself recommends because after Viz bought the rights to it, they fucked up the page order and all the Flash animations have been upscaled shittily in youtube video format.
Its prequel game series Hiveswap is good. The Hiveswap Friendsim game is good. Pesterquest is good (mostly), really just avoid the Epilogues and Hs^2 and you're golden.

the mspa reread, pt 7
after finishing homestuck, ive been working my way progressively through the other content available on the unofficial collection. at this point, all thats left to reconsume is problem sleuth, so ill just recap my feelings about everything else in one singular post here to keep the flow going.
if youre new here, dont even worry about it. the previous parts dont matter, unless you want to read my homestuck recaps.
so heres the recap of the unofficial collection bonus material, ig
Skaianet
i was one of the few people who was there when this came out and managed to read the whole thing before it was shut down. i reread it. no further comments.
Sweet Bro & Hella Jeff, + Team Special Olympics
i am not reading either of these. ive glimpsed more than enough in passing.
The Vigil Prince
i read this but i genuinely have no idea what the fuck its supposed to be???
Ryanquest
probably the shortest thing on the site outside of the vigil prince. its pretty funny ig
Namco High
ive played a decent number of dating sims in my life, and this is my least favorite. i played through davesprites route and then resolutely decided i wouldnt bother playing any more. there are too many fucking characters, there arent really any choices, and the whole thing is just a drag. i tried looking up walkthroughs or playthroughs for the purpose of this recap, but i found nothing bc of how unpopular/how little time this game was available for. i was unfamiliar with all characters except the cousin, teh ship thing i GUESS? nad obviously the hs characters. this did not help anything. i think davesprites route was probably the most interesting one anyway.
Paradox Space
i owned this book, i think. i know when i first read the comic i read the physical version. its in storage now, so i just reread it thru the collection. its still really good. i didnt realize hussie had actually written some of the comics. its funny, and parts of it are really great bonus material or commentary on hs.
summerteen romance surprisingly enough holds up for me as both comedic genius and a surprisingly sincere commentary on hivebent and karkats feelings about it on the meteor trip. mister seven remains my favorite comic, but the last one with vriska and equius was particularly powerful, leaning into a chaotic art style that really emphasized vriskas desperation and incoherence as she lost more and more blood. it made me think of what arkham asylum by grant morrison wanted to be. in general though, there are a lot of genuinely really sweet and funny moments in the comic as a whole. i think i loved it more on my reread than i did on my first read.
Jailbreak
jailbreak is a short comic with one splitting track (with no real consequence) wherein a guy tries to escape from jail with some other guys. if i recall, this one is entirely based off of reader suggestions, so its really random and all over the place. its also very characteristic of hussies earlier era humor.
i remember loving it the first time i read it, but honestly? a lot of the jokes were just kind of distressing on my reread. the dark humor just really isnt my thing anymore i guess. its just kind of... gross now.
still, it has a lot of influence on jokes in homestuck. lord jack's entire jail sequence is like, a direct riff off of this comic. this is also where the what pumpkin joke comes from, and the porno sword. the elf saw a penis and began to cry meme is from this comic.
Bard Quest
hussies incomplete short comic. this is where she really experimented with splitting tracks. however, unlike in homestuck and jailbreak, none of them are resolved, which can result in a clunky narrative where you just have too many damn tabs open.
this is very obviously where the codpiece thing started.
Albums
once youve finished homestuck, hiveswap acts 1 and 2 ost unlock, as well as the friendsim ost, a "grubbles" album based off of the fictional hiveswap band, and the final "beyond canon" album.
Hiveswap OST
im a sucker for the hiveswap soundtrack, absolutely. act one especially is fantastic. but the real highlight of this album is toby and james's track commentary. they bicker back and forth and joke around in the notes, and honestly, its fucking hysterical. act 2 is also good, but it doesnt have any of the commentary.
The Grubbles
its good! it has a nice, consistent sound, and the tracks are pretty solid. its very short, though, and i dont have a ton to say about it.
Friendsim OST
the reality is that everything james roach makes is pretty fire. some of the commentary on this albums really interesting, also. i really like M O I S T and >tfw another james roach song, i think theyre some of the most powerful tracks in terms of atmosphere. however, service car is definitely my favorite. its just so funky.
Beyond Canon
something i think is interesting about beyond canon is that its largely new artists. in all of the previous hs albums, you got the sense that a lot of the musicians knew each other and worked together or listened to each others work, and as a result, you really see them build off of each other. there are so many repeating sounds and motifs, with people constantly remixing each others works, or sticking to similar themes in instruments or sounds- ie; favoring piano in songs about john, whatever. theres a distinct sound to those early albums where you listen and youre like, oh yeah, this is a homestuck album.
i dont get that with beyond canon. it doesnt reference any older stuff. these arent recognizable artists whove influenced homestuck for ages. its all new.
robert j, one of like four returning artists, says this in the track commentary:
about five months ago i was contacted to be a part of the homestuck 2 music team and was told the lowdown: it was a clean slate, and a chance to establish the musical rockbed for homestuck 2 going forward. no quotes of hs1 songs whatsoever, but we'd be making new songs TO quote
which pretty much backs up everything i said. and i get the purpose of something like this, but it does present a challenge for new musicians because theyre working without the same base for nostalgia. the fact that there isnt a ton of really distinct musical diversity in this album, with a lot of it relying on a very electronic sound to the point where i originally thought the album was themed, rather than a supposed new start for this new era of homestuck, also may be challenging when moving forward with new albums.
idk. its a fine album, the songs are fine, but nothing about it really sticks out to me.
Final Thoughts
anyway, all thats left now is to reread problem sleuth, and then i can uninstall this massive fucking thing. i might replay the games, or reread the post canon stuff eventually, but the light is shining at the end of the tunnel at last
#hs reread#recaps#this post is largely negative in retrospect i think whoops#wasnt really my intention but it does come off that way

James Roach on Twitter:
looking through files and realized this song is nearly 20 years old. keep all the songs you write as a teenager because you never know when you're gonna be in your 30s and need to put them in a video game.
you can hear elements i decided to keep from each iteration as it goes on

shitty summary (as i understand it) of the different shit of Homestuck and related/other series, to make it a bit easier (might be a bit inaccurate but if it helps even a little)
- Homestuck: the original 8000+ page comic. has its own credits sequence so you know when it's over. this is probably the only thing you should try tackling for a first time, as I can almost guarantee you'll want to reread at least part of it before looking into other stuff.
- Homestuck Epilogues: A written set of sequels that are pretty much directly placed after Homestuck's credits, with two diverging paths: Meat and Candy. I haven't met many people who are happy with these.
- Homestuck^2: A comic not made by Andrew Hussie (but given the greenlight to count as the "new" canon) meant to take place after the Epilogues. I also haven't met many people who are happy with this.
- Paradox Space: A set of small comics (within the realm of less than 50 pages, usually) that... are a mix of canon and noncanon, if I remember right? There's not many of them, and it probably won't take long to get through them all with the exception of one. They're scattered around the Homestuck timeline, so some may not make sense until later in the comic.
- Pesterquest: A noncanon visual novel directly set on Homestuck, which is chronologically after(?) Hiveswap Friendsim. It's available on steam and google play, but I'm sure someone did a video if you don't want to pay a dollar for each and every chapter.
- Hiveswap: A point and click game that's based off of the Homestuck Universe, but none of the characters shown are recognizable, and it's possible it's set in a whole different universe. Two chapters are out currently on steam, unknown when the rest are releasing.
- Hiveswap Friendsim: A visual novel on Steam and Google Play that takes place in a different universe from Hiveswap(?), and the goal is befriending every main troll shown in Hiveswap. Again, every extra chapter is a dollar.
- The Unofficial Homestuck Collection: a fanmade proect dedicated to archiving Homestuck and most if not all Hussie related things. Has the full Homestuck comic, as well as a couple others, and has some of its own mods for convenience and other fun bullshit, like a translator for some characters' dialogue. It links to most major things, including the music made for Homestuck, and has an unlock system that gives you more the further you get in the comic. (I think you can skip it if you want, but having it on ensures you don't see stuff you definitely haven't seen yet)
It also keeps direct track of what page you're on, and lets you bookmark pages directly. Most stuff can be read directly within the program, and what can't is marked and can be opened in your web browser. the Asset Pack is a couple gigabytes, but it means that it should load pretty much everything almost instantly.
and now, 2 things out of the homestuck universe
- Problem Sleuth: A previous comic made by Hussie that gets occasionally, lightly, referenced here and there in Homestuck and other media. If Homestuck feels like a fever dream, this reads like taking 50 benadryl at once. It's pretty long, but not as long as Homestuck.
- Psycholonials: A visual novel on Steam and free on Google Play that was made by Hussie during the pandemic and features lots and lots of clowns. It has heavier themes and can get dark, but it is finished and isn't super long (9 chapters total).
anyways yeah everything is complicated as hell. tale your time reading, take breaks when you need to, and if you need to, look stuff up or try asking the group of wild fans in your askbox lol
good luck and have fun!
Jesus fucking christ

More About Friendsim 2
We’ve been absolutely blown away by the response to this project, and now that our teaser is out and we’re moving into production I’d like to take a minute to say a little bit more about the project!
Who’s Involved?
Friendsim 2 is being produced by Studio June, an independent artists’ collective formed by a group of Homestuck fans and dedicated to creating meaningful, thoughtful content in a post-canon landscape.
Our core creative team consists of the following folks:
Jonaya Riley: Director/Narrative Director ( @transkanayamaryam ) A woman who’s written over a million words of Homestuck/Hiveswap-related fiction, including two Hiveswap novels. She’s currently the narrative director for Studio June’s post-canon visual novel, New Game Plus, and has worked on a number of other fan-projects, including the Pesterquest Fan Dub, the Will it Homestuck? podcast, and numerous other projects.
Bucky Grant: Art Director ( @thinglikerbucky ) A long-time Homestuck fan and content creator, Bucky has been involved in a wide range of fan projects. They’re the director for New Game Plus, main host of the Will it Homestuck? podcast, and are prolific writer, artist, and voice actor.
Anna: Voice Director ( @articulately-composed ) Another long-time fan creator, Anna has been heavily involved in the Homestuck music and voice acting scene, and has been responsible for projects such as the Time’s Apprentice musical, the Broadwaystuck 2020 panel, and countless comic dubs and other voice-acting projects. She was a writer for Distantquest, voice-actor for the Pesterquest fan dub, and much more!
In addition to the core team, we’ll be working with a number of writers, artists, musicians, and voice actors from throughout the Homestuck fandom.
When is this coming out?
The game will be released episodically, with the plan being to release the first two routes in the Spring of 2022, with new episodes releasing every few months after that until the game is all done!
What’s the plot?
I don’t want to get too spoiler-y, but the basic plot revolves around MSPA Reader heading back to Alternia to pick up all their friends from Friendsim and take them to safety.
That’s simple, right? Nothing could possibly go wrong with that... right?!
Will this have Xefros and Joey and all them?
No, this is a timeline where the events of Friendsim definitely did take place (which it seems that Hiveswap Act 1 and 2 is not) but Hiveswap Act 1 and 2 definitely did not happen. This will be important for reasons I won’t reveal because they’re major spoilers.
What kind of game is this?
Although this will be a visual novel similar to the original Friendsim in overall presentation, the narrative structure, writing, and stakes will be quite a bit different than the original game.
In addition to the main visual novel gameplay, we’ve got some fun surprises planned for the player!
What makes this special?
Not to brag (okay, maybe to brag just a little bit), but we’ve got some absolutely amazing writers and artists involved in this project. The work being done, even at this early stage, is really highlighting the love and dedication that our creators have for these characters and this world.
Outside of the basic “this is gonna be well-made” thing, we’re planning to introduce a number of things to the Friendsim formula to make a game that’s got some real depth to it.
We’re also planning to record full character voicing (that is, MSPAR and the narration will be un-voiced, but everyone else will talk)! Our team includes not only a voice director who’s written, produced, and recorded an entire Ancestor musical, but several Pesterquest dub voice actors and editors, and we really believe in the added immersion that good voice work can bring to a project.
So... “officially unofficial” what does that mean exactly?!
It means that this is absolutely, definitively not an official project! We have no connection to What Pumpkin or anyone affiliated with What Pumpkin - this project is being produced, written, developed, and financed entirely by the fans.
We’ll definitely be starting from the canon established by Friendsim and Pesterquest, but we’re not beholden to it!
Yeah this sounds pretty dope - how do I get involved?
You can follow Friendsim 2 and Studio June on Twitter, or visit the official Friendsim 2 and Studio June websites for more info! You can also check out our Youtube channel for trailers and teasers!
If you want to be a part of our fan community, check out our Studio June community Discord server where you can chat about Friendsim 2, New Game Plus, or just general Homestuck stuff! Who knows... you might even run into me or some of the other devs on the server!
Also, if you’re interested in a thoughtful, considerate approach to post-canon content, check out New Game Plus, a post-canon visual novel featuring the original Homestuck cast.
Thanks again to all of our followers for your support! Making a project of this scope is always a challenge, and we genuinely appreciate the love and support y’all have shown us!

Friendsim Album Coming 11/29
art WIP by https://mobile.twitter.com/Knil57122843
The holiday season is starting, and there is no better time to celebrate new friends, both virtual and real. Lots of new faces on the UMSPAF team have contributed songs to our Friendsim album, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
And.. Oh yeah, Hiveswap Act 2 is coming out tomorrow with the Friendsim characters too!
Though it wasn’t conceived that way, this can be seen as an unofficial soundtrack for Friendsim, with at least one lovingly crafted track per character. (Except Zebruh... I’m not sure how much love went into that one.)
The release and stream will be this Sunday, 11/29 (Stream time to be decided).

What are some of the things I do?
Youtube Channel :: Mostly editing work from highschool and college, but I also have a few great AMVs.
Rip Hiveswap :: A sideblog full of sprite and asset rips from Hiveswap, Friendsim, and Pesterquest. I thought the name was funny :)
Alternian Logos :: My own take on troll-ified logos for websites, games, and general media, even written in Alternian letters. I update this from time to time. Hit me up if you want a commission or want to use a logo.
Fonts :: For the purposes of contributing to the Homestuck fandom, I’ve created two New Alternian fonts: - Alternialiased, based on the Homestuck font (courier new) - Alternian (Minecraft), based on Minecraft’s in-game font
The Cyber Fish :: My fantroll ask blog staring my boy Viiveh and his alter ego Vexxin. I tend to answer asks with animated talksprite gifs. Currently on hiatus while I’m figuring out my life.
A Viral Medium :: A webcomic about about a universe altering game infected with a major virus. (ON HIATUS)
The Unofficial Homestuck Collection - Mods :: Several mods I’ve made for TUHC, listed below: - Denizen Browser Themes - Ke$hastuck Music Replacement - New Alternian Alphabet - Vriska Did Nothing (wip) [click here to see progress posts]
Crypt of the Necrocrafter :: A Minecraft themed mod for Crypt of the Necrodancer.
Slime Rancher mod for Stardew Valley :: A mod for Stardew Valley which replaces all animals on the farm with slimes inspired by the game Slime Rancher.

Started by Niklink in 2011, and now curated by yours truly, The Homestuck Sound Test is an unofficial collection of several otherwise scattered, and, in some cases, unavailable Homestuck musical tracks, primarily those created by the Homestuck Music Team.
The Sound Test contains:
Disc 1 - Unreleased Homestuck Music (78 tracks): Music that has been used within Homestuck proper but has not been officially released on an album.
Disc 2 - Removed Homestuck Music (25 Tracks): Music that was officially released on albums but later removed from said albums. Sburban Jungle’s brief mix from Act 1, an Aggrieve remix, and removed tracks from Bill Bolin, SolusLunes, and Seijen. Does not include the ColoUrs and Mayhem A tracks that turned out to be plagiarized from the Frozen Synapse OST. If you want those tracks, go buy the Frozen Synapse OST. Also includes a backwards, amplified audio version of “null” from Volume 8 (not related to Null from Song of Skaia). In case you’re wondering, “null” as originally released and without the sound amplified was just 8 seconds of seeming silence.
Disc 3 - Unreleased Homestuck Music Team Music (773 tracks): Homestuck-related and/or Homestuck-inspired music made by the Music Team members that have not been used in Homestuck proper and have not officially been released on an album; also includes beta versions of tracks and unfinished WIPs. Includes beta versions, remasters, and remixes of tracks from official Homestuck albums that may not have been made by official Music Team members (read: ColoUrs and Mayhem tracks). Homestuck fan-music by Hiveswap Music Team members (i.e James Roach) is also included
Disc 4 - Unreleased Hiveswap Music (7 Tracks): Essentially the same thing as Disc 1, but for Hiveswap instead of Homestuck.
Disc 5 - Unreleased Hiveswap Music Team Music (22 tracks): Essentially the same thing as Disc 3, but for Hiveswap instead of Homestuck. Hiveswap fan-music by Homestuck Music Team members is also included.
Disc 6 - Unreleased Friendsim and Pesterquest Music (26 tracks): Same thing as Discs 1 and 4 but for Hiveswap Friendsim and Homestuck Pesterquest.
Disc 7 - Unreleased Friendsim and Pesterquest Music Team Music (12 tracks): Same thing as Discs 3 and 5, but for Hiveswap Friendsim and Homestuck Pesterquest.
Unavailable Homestuck Albums (2 albums, 39 tracks total): Albums that were previously officially sold and have not yet been re-uploaded for purchase.
-Squiddles! (23 tracks)
A spin-off album about Squiddles, an in-universe cartoon about adorable sea creatures.
-The Wanderers (16 tracks)
An album about the Exiles of the B2 session.
Unofficial Homestuck Music Team Albums (3 albums, 28 tracks total, 1 folder with MIDI files, 11 files total): Free unofficial Homestuck albums by members of the Music Team.
-A Plumbthroat Christmas (5 tracks)
A jolly tale of Squiddles and Yuletide cheer by Alexander Rosetti. Not actually jolly or cheerful. If you like musicals about sentient cephalopods devouring human corpses, then this album is for you, I guess.
-Seer (13 tracks)
Tracks from a scrapped Rose Lalonde concept album by Thomas Ferkol. Given the circumstances of their origins, I felt it was best to keep them as a single album rather than cram them all into the Sound Test’s Disc 3. While neither “The Seer and the Tribesmen” or the full version of “The Metamorphosis [of Rose Lalonde]” are included, they are available on the Land of Fan and Music albums (Land of Fans and Music 2 and Land of Fans and Music 3 respectively).
-The Baby Is You (10 tracks)
Simultaneously the worst fucking thing Toby Fox has ever made and his magnum opus that even Undertale cannot surpass, even mentioning this legendary trash opera on the now-defunct MSPA forums was grounds for a ban. Warning: Contains male pregnancy (mpreg), heavy implications of underage sex, implications of incest, time travel, a clip of Karkat saying “MMMMMMMMMMM” that was used in the Act 6 Act 6 Act 1 opening flash, vore, the answer to the Ultimate Riddle, and other absolutely awful shit that has no business being in the Sound Test, or indeed, anywhere. Listen at your own risk, if you dare.
-Tomb of the Ancestors (MIDI Files) (11 files)
MIDI files for most of the tracks from Tomb of the Ancestors, by Kalibration. The actual album is available at http://dl.skaia.net/albums.
Dave’s Phat Beat Machine (16 tracks): 16 of the sickest, illest and dopest beats ever to grace Homestuck page 2238. These certified “Phat Beats” dropped by Dave Strider’s AKAI MPC-1000 SAMPLER do not include easter egg bonus songs on said page. They also don’t include Bill Bolin’s long-removed contributions to the Phat Beat machine, because those are already included on Disc 2.
That’s 1026 tracks total in the Homestuck Sound Test 12/20/2020 Edition, not including MIDIs.
Several tracks on Disc 3 are currently uncredited. If you are the artist of any of them, or know who the artist is, or see a track that is credited incorrectly anywhere on the Sound Test, please send a message to my Tumblr and I will happily fix the mistake.
Enjoy your listening, and don’t forget to reblog this post to spread the word!

Get excited homestucks! We’re calling Artists and Musicians!
The Hiveswap/Friendsim album is a Hiveswap fan music album project, coordinated by the people behind the Beforus and Paradox Music team Homestuck fan music projects! In association with Unofficial MSPA Fans group and Paradox Music team, we want to create Hiveswap and Friendsim fan music content in the same vein.
This blog and project are headed by @hipstersoulgushers, @not-terezi-pyrope and @potatoboss323, and we are seeking contributors both from within and outside the Homestuck fan music/fan art community.
The scope of the project will scale in proportion to the interest we receive, so feel free to jump in and take part if you want to help make something truly great! We are seeking to make content for both Hiveswap and Hiveswap friendsim, initially focusing on character themes. The resultant music collection, and accompanying track art, will be published as either one or two albums depending on the scope of the content.
If you’re new to the fan album scene and want to take part, you can do so by sending a sample of your artistic or musical work to one of the project team leads! We do ask that you have a degree of prior experience before applying, but if in doubt, just get in contact. More information about contributing can be found on the take part page!
For any other questions or ideas, feel free to send us an ask!

James Roach on Twitter:
i briefly had this idea that the things you did in PQ with your retcon abilities would change things that already happened. if you ended up going to the epilogues or meeting UD etc, like, literally changing the like... epilogue pdfs or w/e, but this would have taken so long LMAO
similarly, going back to friendsim would boot up friendsim, and there would be a continuation of the story in there. again: this would have taken forever but damn it woulda been cool. i wanna try something like this for my own works.
MSPAR playable hiveswap character but just for like... a moment.
part 2:
in the aradia route theres a point where you try to go back to friendsim and originally i wanted it to open friendsim and continue in there but nobody knows you because of doc scratch. this was obviously a bit much, and also what about the people who didnt own it etc
so when they told me that PQ was its own sort of "locked" canon, i got the idea that you try and go back and theres nothing there. you're not just locked out, it just doesn't exist. it has been forcibly removed from your canonical story.
during aradias route i wanted to show the same sort of.. importance of the fandom and the reader: the errors in continuity you create cause interest and support to wane. the universe cannot exist without the people who care. even if they care about, you know, bullshit details.
so as you go in and start moving things around to where they shouldn't be, it literally starts breaking things apart. i'll be the first to say a lot of the fans care way too much about nonsense but i hope that was seen as the nod it was meant to be. without you, this is nothing
edit:
@hyxcinthz: what about the people inside the locked canon? does their timeline just freeze or does it go on? and if things still do go on there, can MSPAR still go and visit the people inside?
@hamesatron: you will find out
