          ( he lifts his elbow to show clarke the cut he’d gotten from a            particularly bad tumble in the woods earlier in the day. jasper            didn’t think it was possible to already be infected, but he figured            if anyone would know, it’d be clarke. )

She looks up, carefully examining the cut on Jasper’s arm. It didn’t seem particularly bad, or life-threateningly deep. But, the air was still soaked with radiation, and who knew, what other toxic gases. Their bodies may be somehow immune to the radiation, due to their time spent in the Sky, but one still had to be careful.

“Well, it doesn’t look like it. But, maybe, you should have a bandage around it, just in case. Cover the wound from anything that may infect it.”

She fished a strip of cloth from her medical kit, and indicated for Jasper to give her his arm.

"How’d you get hurt, anyway?"

       he’s silent ---- clenching his jaw once he hears those words digging into him, because it’s true: jasper’s right. there’s more death to add to the already growing numbers,  except this time, he was AWARE of what he was doing as he executed them. children, innocents, everyone.  he doesn’t know if that makes it worse or not, but it doesn’t matter. it leaves him just as he was before: A MONSTER.
